Customers are impressed with the finely chopped beech shavings, which are dust-free and ideal for bird and small animal enclosures. The bedding is easy to maintain, binds droppings, and doesn't smell musty. While some find it less absorbent for urine, overall, it's praised for its quality and ease of use. Birds seem to enjoy playing with it, and it keeps cages cleaner for longer periods. Highly recommended for its pleasant smell and non-dusty nature.

My ratties are veeeery happy
I ordered this bedding to give it a try. My son used it for our rats after cleaning the cage. The girls were absolutely thrilled with it. And even the bucks love this bedding more than any other we've used so far. The smell is also wonderfully absorbed. It's very economical to use and lasts for quite a while.

Super good for turtles!
I’ve always had issues with bedding for my Greek tortoise, as most bedding is either too damp or doesn’t retain heat. With the beech wood chips, none of that is a problem. The terrarium is easy to clean, and the chips are so economical that one large bag lasts for ages. My tortoise feels so comfortable that she even burrows into the chips, something she’s never done before! TOP PRODUCT!

Absolutely the very best!!!
Way better than bird sand & more hygienic! My budgie loves wandering around in the wood shavings, nibbling on them & playing with them! Nothing smells or creates dust! Plus, the shavings are great for disposing of in the compost bin! Buy it!!!

I'm very satisfied.
I use it for my boas and my corn snake and I'm very satisfied. I've finally found the substrate I've been searching for for so long...

Super stuff!
Our 5 budgies and 2 black-cheeked lovebirds were absolutely thrilled right from the start. Especially after cleaning the aviaries, they love cracking the fresh wood shavings or scratching around in them.
Thanks to the shavings, the aviaries are also much easier and quicker to clean.

Iguana
For our iguana, this is the ideal bedding—it even matches the colour of the terrarium wood ;)
It absorbs moisture really well, hardly lets any odour through, stays nice and warm, and most importantly, it's coarse enough not to cause any blockages for the little one :)

Simply brilliant
I have two African grey parrots. It’s easy to clean, doesn’t smell, and catches dust and feathers. It also stays stable when my two are flying around. Simply brilliant.

Very good bedding for reptiles
I use the bedding for my Python regius. It’s dust-free, has a pleasant smell, and retains moisture without becoming waterlogged. Faeces are easy to spot and remove.
Very fast shipping, 5 stars for Zooplus and the value for money, 5 stars for the bedding.

Better than bird sand!
I prefer it to bird sand. There's less dust, and when the budgies flutter around, it doesn’t all get thrown out. They also like to peck at it. I just add a small dish of bird sand alongside. It’s a shame that you can’t get bird grit at Zooplus.

Better than bird sand
So, I tried the product and, after testing it, I find it flawless, with no drawbacks, so I highly recommend it. Much better than bird sand, which constantly flies around everywhere.

Chipsi XXL
We have two large parrots (Penant's parrot), and since their droppings are very thin, this bedding is excellent. It doesn’t smell at all and doesn’t produce any dust. Cleaning it is also very easy. We’ve been using it for a very long time.

XXL grit for the grey parrot
It’s perfect for the Montana cage, as it can be easily removed from the large base trays during cleaning due to its lightweight, doesn’t create dust, and if something does get spilled, it can be easily vacuumed up.

TOP for tortoises
My 11 tortoises and I are very happy with the beech wood shavings... urine is absorbed brilliantly, and droppings can be easily sifted out!
The product is cheaper at ZOOPLUS than at specialist shops... I always order several bags straight away, which saves on shipping costs, and the post delivers the bags right to my doorstep!! Simply wonderful!!!

Practical
I use this product for my cockatiels and put bird sand in the middle. This way, I don’t have to clean the cage as often, and my little ones get the sand they need. Afterwards, I can compost the material, so it doesn’t fill up my rubbish bin! Isn’t that great...

Not suitable for guinea pigs and lizards
Yes, it looks good and is natural, but that's where the positives end. Neither Australian bearded dragons nor Peruvian guinea pigs move around on such a substrate in the wild. Additionally, it has absolutely no absorbency. In my opinion, completely unsuitable for rodents and terrarium dwellers.

For budgies, only partially recommended.
I tried this beech wood shavings and the maize granulate for our budgies. Maize granulate – brilliant. It does get thrown out of the cage, but that's much worse with the beech wood shavings!
The budgies seem to prefer the maize granulate too... :-)

Dust-free and very popular!
I am positively surprised.
1. Dust-free and easy to clean
2. Very popular with budgies.
3. Lightning-fast delivery from Zooplus
You should also provide a dish of bird grit, as the bedding itself doesn’t contain anything.
