  • Counteracts muscle loss during a weight reduction programme

Indications:
  • If your pet is overweight
  • Diabetes mellitus
Contraindications :
  • Pregnancy or lactation, kittens
a science-based formula to help your cat reach a healthy weight
Key benefits:
  • High fibre: Selected fibres, chicory pulp and psyllium husks and seeds ensure that your cat feels full up quickly and that this feeling of satiety lasts for a long time.
  • Balanced nutrients: A high concentration of minerals and vitamins help to compensate for the energy restrictions and ensure a balanced supply of vital nutrients.
  • Joint support : Chondroitin sulphate and glucosamin help to maintain normal mobility in the highly stressed joints of obese pets and have a positive effect on degenerative joint disease.
  • EPA/DHA: Essential fatty acids (omega 3 and omega 6) and trace elements (Cu, Zn) keep skin healthy and your pet's coat shiny.

Changing your pet's diet and length of treatment:

The length of time your pet needs to stay on a reducing diet depends on how much weight needs to be lost. Weight should be lost slowly to ensure your pet stays healthy and only loses fat tissue from the body. Ideal weight loss is 1 to 3% of the bodyweight per week. Too rapid weight loss can cause feline hepatic lipidosis or lead to other illnesses. Once your cat has reached its target weight it should be weighed regularly to ensure that it maintains an ideal body weight.

Therapeutic veterinary diets are carefully formulated and recommended to be used in conjunction with veterinary advice and support. Royal Canin strongly recommend you seek advice from your Vet prior to and during feeding of any of these products to your pet.
mix dry & wet for an optimal feeding experience

Constant begging and yet gained weight

For a month now, the cat has been getting this food portioned out with the kitchen scales. She's constantly hungry and begs non-stop. We weighed her today and found out: she's gained 700g. That's disappointing.

She loves it

Brought as my cat needs to lose nearly 2kg. She is always on the hunt for food, no matter which one given. This one so far she hasnt cried out. Hopefully this one continues to fill her and she loses those unwanted lbs. I'll be weighing her every 2wks for a start. Fingers crossed

It works.

I have a FIP-positive tomcat who unfortunately became overweight, and I didn’t know how to help him lose weight anymore. Then I tried this food and I’m thrilled after just 3 weeks. Yes, he’s constantly hungry, but I’ve stayed consistent with only the dry food, and he already seems much happier now. Super

Gained weight

My cat didn’t feel full with this food and kept begging all the time. He gained weight instead of losing it.

Some reservations

My cat enjoys this product but I do not think that it fills him as it claims to do

Cats like it.

Bought for my overweight cat in vet recommendation. You must stick to the feeding regime. Weighing the food out. My cat lost 800g in 6 months. We then increased her daily amount by 10 grams and she’s maintaining that weight. I Definitely recommend this food.

Small changes for a huge animal

I have an overweight cat (7.2kg when we started with the diet). The think is that last 2 years she get 2kg and she's old now so the vet decided to give us thos food and to make us ration it. We bought an automatic feeder and we started to introduce the new food mixed with the ones I've already given her (oral + sterility + hair). She lost 300gr in the last 2months and her character has chaged a lot, she's lots more affective and joyfull. Happy for now ☺️

Good food, but…

My cats seem to eat (or want to!) a lot more of this food than the less diet versions (their bowls are constantly empty now, whereas they never ate their while full fat portions) They do eat it, and seem content, but only time will tell whether they lost weight. However - to be aware - the large bags are NOT RESEALABLE. It seems a bit bonkers especially since the smaller bags are, but there you are. Hopefully they will eat it before it goes stale.

Cats no longer begging for food all day

I use the recommended amount for overweight cats on my two senior cats. Our vet recommended satiety food. They have been losing weight AND not begging for food all the time! I measure out the amount for the day and feed 4 meals a day. That way they can graze. They like this variety as well. Very happy cats and very happy guardians!

Excellent food

I put my cat on this food as she was putting weight on as she got older and less inactive. In the last few years she has slowly lost weight which is fantastic, I always give her as much as she wants really, if I was strict with food then she would have lost a lot more. When I went to the vets they asked what food I had her on and I told them and they said it’s the best food on the market.

Good price

This food is horrendously expensive in the Vets and on Amazon.com Zooplus are by far the best in price. You must stick to a strict diet to make this work.No wet food, and only one small portion of dry food per day, which you can split in half to make it last longer. Your Cats wont love you for it, but you will see a difference in about a week if you stick to the portion sizes.

Has opposite of the stated effect

I have two overweight cats and the vet recommended this product because one of them gets hangry several hours before the next feeding time. Sadly, the "Satiety Support" made the problem worse. He was hungry again after just a few hours, and wolfed down all the food immediately rather than leaving a bit for later as he did before. In short, a disaster. We've gone back to Hills Science Plan Adult Perfect Weight kibble, as it keeps him full for longer.

Lost weight, yes, but begs more than before.

We were prescribed this by the vet. It helped with weight loss quite quickly. She gets the recommended amount according to the packaging. But she’s always begging and constantly hungry. The feeling of satiety doesn’t seem to kick in. However, she’s become more energetic and can finally lift her leg again to groom herself.

Losing weight theoretically possible

Our kitty absolutely loves it, and even the tomcat, who usually turns his nose up at his much more generous Renal food, enjoys it. Weight loss has worked really well for him with the recommended dosage (combined with diet wet food). However, the kitty seems to be "starving" almost all the time, even when she gets significantly more. Every portion size is devoured in one go... without a break. So, a feeling of satiety never really seems to set in. Whether this food actually provides a sense of fullness remains questionable.

Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Feline Satiety

My tomcat is absolutely crazy about this cat food. It's the only diet food he likes.

Hm...

My cat gets "rabbit teeth" when I go for this food, so it doesn't seem to be very tasty. But she needed to lose weight, which is why I opted for a vet food. After 6 months, she's lost 0.5kg, even though I feed her slightly less than the recommended amount. So I'm not really convinced when it comes to value for money. The vet has now recommended switching to regular food in a reduced dose.

1.6kg down!

Our cat has very severe joint problems and absolutely needed to lose weight. With this food, it finally worked. Since the beginning of April, she has lost 1.6kg and no longer needs painkillers. Her feeling of hunger is also kept in check (unfortunately, she can eat anything and everything at any time). We followed the feeding instructions on the packaging exactly, even though it seems like very little. She gets her food in 5 portions spread throughout the day (automatic feeder).

It works!

My cat went up to 5.9kg over lockdown, she was slow, not doing much and very very lazy! In 8 months eating this she's down to 4.3kg, back to herself, always out and bounding around and the vet said she's her perfect weight. You have to be strict and weigh every single meal (it doesn't look much) and be strong by not giving more food when they hassle for it. If you strictly follow the guidance this food will get the excess off.
