Oh yes, he is very ill, and this food is the best and only option for his stomach lining inflammation.

We've been buying nothing else here for years, except High Fibre to mix with Low Fat – thank you for the quick delivery. He's now turned 12 but unfortunately has spondylosis and stomach lining inflammation caused by Rimadyl and injections. He moves very poorly as he doesn't have a hip socket, and his hind paws are only supported by tendons and muscles. Camillo is a Golden Retriever/Labrador mix but has more traits of a Golden Retriever. He celebrated his 12th birthday on 09/11/24.

Sudden Intolerance

My Laika has been suffering from pancreas issues for several years now. Every now and then, there was wet food, which was never really a problem. In November, we tried another tin, divided into three meals a day. That very night, the diarrhoea started... (you don’t immediately think it’s the food). Second test: yesterday morning, Laika was excited about the wet food again, but less than twelve hours later, the diarrhoea started again. Unfortunately, we can no longer order this product.

I can only recommend it.

Our Australian Shepherd bitch had a gastrointestinal infection two months ago and couldn't keep anything down. A blood test revealed that her pancreas was part of the problem. Then my vet recommended this food, and it was truly the right choice. Blood was taken again recently, and lo and behold, her pancreatic levels have dropped from over 900 to 300 (two months later), and I must say her overall condition is much better now compared to when she was on the previous food.

Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Canine Gastrointestinal Low Fat

Due to chronic issues with the pancreas and recurring bouts of pain, I prepare small portions of the wet food mixed with water several times a day. I let the dry food soak in it*, and finally, I add about 2 tablespoons of wet food as a treat on top. My mixed-breed dog loves this version. (*Otherwise, the dry food, by swelling in the stomach, can worsen the pain.)

Only semi-impressed

The food is well tolerated and my pug enjoys eating it. However, he’s constantly hungry, as it doesn’t seem to keep him full for long. This is further supported by his bowel movements – at the latest, two hours after eating, he’s desperate to go outside. His stool looks exactly like the dog food and the quantity matches the amount he’s been fed.

Stomach and intestinal problems in dogs

Our 8kg mixed-breed dog from Slovakia has been struggling with gastrointestinal issues from the very beginning. The latest diagnosis was chronic inflammation of the spleen, intestines, and oesophagus. After just one week of feeding her this food (I was sceptical, as Royal Canin generally doesn’t have the best reviews online), the inflammation has improved incredibly well (of course, also with medication treatment). The change in food didn’t cause any diarrhoea or anything similar. TOP!! THANK YOU, Royal Canin!!!

My experience

Since my dog started eating this food, he no longer has pain after meals because his pancreas isn’t functioning properly.

Pancreatitis

I stuck to Hills for long time for my dogs condition but she did not enjoy it and was sick every couple of weeks.I did not know what to do as alternatives are difficult to find. This food is appetizing she enjoys it and has put on weight, she is much less unwell.

Pancreatitis

Since my dog suffers from pancreatic disease, the veterinary clinic gave me this food to try out. And I have to say, I’m impressed. She eats it very well and, most importantly, she’s tolerated it very well so far. She gets both the dry and wet food. Thank you to the manufacturers!

Severe EPI, the second rarest form.

Our little Havanese, 4 years old, had fluid in his abdomen, affected salivary glands, the entire stomach area infected... festering and so on... acute danger to life. Thanks to the excellent diagnostics by the treating doctors and this FOOD, our little treasure can lead a life as comfortable as possible under the circumstances. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts that there are people who dedicate themselves to research and were able to bring this product to market.

Pancreatitis under control

Our soon-to-be 14-year-old dog is thriving thanks to this food, mixed with the dry food of the same brand and pancreatin capsules, and now has solid stools again. Without it, he would have starved despite eating. We are very happy that he will have a few more comfortable months like this.

Pancreatitis

My senior dog was diagnosed with pancreatitis and as she also has an intolerance to rice it was very difficult to find a suitable food. She has been on this food for a couple of months now and has found it palatable and the incidences have dramatically decreased. She was suffering an incident about once a week on the Hills I/d and she found the low fat I/d unpalatable.

Super well tolerated and evidently life-sustaining

My 13.5-year-old Leonberger lady almost succumbed to pancreatitis. Since she also has kidney issues, the options were becoming very limited! What can a dog eat when they can no longer tolerate protein or fat? She absolutely refused to eat the dry food from this brand, so I gave her this instead. With great relief, I have to say that she tolerates this food exceptionally well. I’m hopeful that she can stay with us a little longer.

Super

Our miniature schnauzer had serious problems with his pancreas. Ever since I found this food, which he has been eating for 10 months now and really enjoys mixed with the dry food of the same brand, he hasn’t had any issues again. For us, this food is absolutely vital.

Diet food

Our little dog also has pancreatitis and needs this food, but he only eats it reluctantly. It would be nice if there were a second variety and not always the same one, so he could have a bit of variety.

Essential for survival

Our miniature schnauzer can survive thanks to this food. She had severe pancreatitis (inflammation of the pancreas). Without this food, life wouldn’t be possible. Highly recommended as dry food too.

SUPER GOOD

My second dog had an acute pancreatitis (EPI) attack, and we were lucky that he even survived it! THANK GOD :-) We are completely satisfied with this product, and his blood values have already improved a bit. Our bear is now also getting the dry food, and we are optimistic that he will recover. We can only say the very best about these products and recommend them to anyone whose dog(s) have a similar problem. Best regards, SilkeT
