Protects curtains and furniture from cat's natural scratching urges. Colour: beige.
This scratching board can be positioned easily at any appropriate height.
Dimensions:
70cm x 17cm - sisal pad 62 cm x 15.5 cm
Cats need to sharpen their claws regularly - the trick is to keep them from using your furniture for the job! Providing a suitably hard-wearing material is vital; the tough natural fibres of sisal are ideal, helping your cat to shed dead layers of nail and preventing ingrown claws.
Please note: Colour of the Scratching board may vary from the product image.
SO much better than free standing posts. She can really put her back into it. So delighted to have discovered it.

My cat actually uses it!
Our cat has ignored every scratching post we’ve provided since adopting him a year ago. He doesn’t like rounded posts or rope style; instead favours flat & course things like the side of our sofa or lounge rug. I used strong double sided tape to attach this to the floor (rather than nailing into the wall), after 2/3 days he discovered it and now automatically runs to scratch this over anything else in the house. A true miracle after a year of worrying about spoilt furniture!!

Miss
I can't recall when I bought the board I have now, It is so long ago. I have it on the wall and Tilley runs to it like an old friend. I would like to suggest that the hard board be extended a couple of inches on each side as she tends to go 'outside the box' as it were. Fortunately I inherited the embossed wallpaper from the previous owner of the flat and have started to see the wall underneath, but this is after 2-3 years as far as I can remember. Yes, it is very good!

very sturdy and well used
My 3 cats all use this and I am about to replace it as they've finally ripped all the sisal off. But its lasted a year so I am very pleased with it. Doesn't stop them scratching the furniture of corder - they just use both!

Cat still loving it months later
By far the best scratch post I’ve bought for our cat, she uses it every day and it hasn’t fallen apart like every other one.

Broke immediately
Unfortunately the scratch pad broke away from the cardboard backing immediately. On examination the staples were not properly applied so had just come away rather than holding the two parts together. Waste of money.

Happy crazy cats!
My cats are soooo happy! I purchased 4 of these and put them on the corner of a wall in my kitchen ( they like this corner!) Well within seconds of me finishing drilling and putting them up they were up the top!!! What great boards, and they'll certainly last longer than the one I had up before!! Look at my photos " Crazy Cats " they are happy!!

The trick is in the positioning!
The board is built very well and comes with a little sachet of cat nip which is great! I attached it to the wall in the living room and was disappointed that my cat wouldn't go near it, but after reading that cats like a scratch after a nap, I took it down and lay it on the floor near his cat bed. He IMMEDIATELY went over to it and started scratching and rolling on it! So there you go :) I think he'll continue to enjoy it.

At last!
Been looking for a replacement scratching board for sometime that wasn't made of useless cardboard but could also stand up to the use of two cats. Also purchased scratching mat (reviewed separately) but this is a far superior item. Highly recommend.

Fabulous scrathing boards.
My cat loves these, and it protects walls/wallpaper where he likes to have a scratch deliberately to get me to chase him or let me know he wants a look outside(limited as I'm in a flat). He has two posts, but these placed where he likes to claw a wall give him extra stimulation and claw-trimming opportunities. I'm now ordering more for a friend whose cat goes outside, but will make good use of these. One thing: the supplied screws are too short, so use larger /longer ones to keep the board secure as if it comes off the wall while the cat is using it it will frighten the cat and it won't try again.

Outside ramp
I got one of these to see if they were good enough to use outside as I want to make a series of ramps for my cat to play on and take a short cut up the fence. It looks great, really sturdy and the board it is attached to is solid. I think I'll give the board a coat of varnish just to seal it and make it last a little longer but I think it's going to work really well.

Actually this may have been my own fault
Not a great success with this afraid. However, it may have been entirely my own fault. Before I decided where to nail it, I propped it against the side of the sofa that my cat had taken to clawing at. However, of course, the first thing she did was have a tentative paw at it and it fell on her. She wasn't hurt but now, of course, won't go anywhere near it, despite me liberally dosing it in catnip.

No more wobbles and space saving too
I was fed up with the standing scratching post being dragged around on the laminate floor and bought this one and screwed it to the wall. The long board is a good height for a scratch and stretch. My girl had to get used to it a bit because the sisal is tightly woven (her old post had roughened up over time) but seems to have taken to it now as she is back to her ever so frequent manicure routine.

2 out of 2 cats love this product ;-)
My 2 cats were using it the second I got the wrapping off so I'll soon be buying more to replace the tatty cardboard ones I have dotted around the house. They blend in well with my decor too. They didn't need the catnip as an incentive to use the scratching board so I'll use it to make a cat toy.
One negative is that the staples used to fix the backing board were not all flush so I hammered these in before laying on my laminate flooring to prevent scratches.
BTW The boxes my deliveries come in are also very popular!

Indispensable for multi-cat households!
We're a four-cat household and bought our first one of these back in 2006...
Today is April 1st 2009 and this is the first time it has needed to be replaced..
Brilliant value for money, very sturdy and robust, and as others have said. it can be put as high as you like up a wall, which is great if you have terminally lazy Persians such as I do, who find it a terrible strain just to even stretch to get into a sunbeam!
