Product description

Complete, dietetic dry food for cats with digestive problems, with easily-digestible ingredients in a carefully-formulated recipe to support digestion, nutrient absorption and intestinal flora.

Gentle support for digestion and nutrient absorption:
Concept for Life Veterinary Diet Gastrointestinal is a scientifically-developed dry food that is specially tailored to the needs of cats with malabsorption, digestive problems or impaired pancreatic function. Easily-digestible ingredients relieve the gastrointestinal tract, while selected minerals help to balance electrolyte losses.

Intestinal flora and acceptance:
The recipe contains mannan-oligosaccharides (MOS) and fructo-oligosaccharides (FOS), which support a balanced intestinal flora. With an increased sodium and potassium content and high acceptance, this food is ideal for sensitive cats.

Concept for Life Veterinary Diet Gastrointestinal at a glance:

  • Supports digestion and nutrient absorption
  • Easily-digestible ingredients relieve the gastrointestinal tract

Highly Recommend

I changed from the Royal Canin Gastrointestinal brand, as it was so expensive. Concept for life had exactly the same results for my cats, and was cheaper. I highly recommend this product.

Why fix what isn't broken

I've been buying this food religiously for the past 2 years for my 9 cats as one has IBD and it was fabulous. Why change the ingredients? My IBD cat has a really bad tummy now and he's really gassy with runny poops. Looking at other reviews this was a really big mistake to make as sales will slump!

Bad new recipe

I don't understand how they can change the recipe so much and still call it the same food. It now just has dried chicken instead of hydrolysed poultry which is terrible for many cats with IBD. We tried to introduce the new food a few pieces of kibble at a time and immediately our cats poo became very wet and sticky. After no more than a teaspoon of the new recipe over two days we stopped giving it to him and still a week later he is very gassy and his poo is still sloppy. Please change back!

The new recipe is not good for my cat

My cat has IBD and not only was the old food good for his stomach but he really enjoyed it. After just a few pieces of the new food recipe his stomach be ame very inflamed and he had terrible diarrhea. It took so long to find the food and I'm very concerned about trying to find a new one that works. I'd happily pay more for the old re ope if it was a cost decision!

Dissapointed in new recipe

My cat with IBD has been on this food without any issues for over a year. This new recipe made her vomit excessively, even with gradual introduction. I wish I bought the smallest bag. I now have to trial a new gastro food for her.

Very poor

Changed recipe without warning to completely different ingredients meaning my poorly cat cat no longer eat this food. It was the only food he could eat and now I am at a loss.

New recipe not good

The new recipe has caused havoc to my cat’s digestion, his litter tray looks like a bowl of chocolate milk :(
New Recipe! 3kg

New recipe not hydrolysed

My cat relied on this food as a hydrolysed protein and it was the only food he could eat. The new recipe is no longer hydrolysed and he has a chicken allergy. Completely changing the recipe of a food that many owners rely upon for cats with IBD is extremely poor

New recipe upset my cats stomach.

The new recipe gave my cat such a bad stomach, please could you return to the original as its gastro food and it took a long time to find a dry food right for my cat .
New Recipe! 350g

Do not buy new recipe

The new recipe has a high % of corn. This made my poor cat have explosive diarrhea. Corn should not be included in cat food.

Excellent food for cats

My sphynx have dodgy stomachs and for years I’ve tried many different foods including Barf but nothing would but still never gave up trying to get my eldest solid then i tried this and bingo all my cats love it and all have solid poop . I would recommend this too any cay owner A++++++

The Best

These biscuits are the only brand which have helped my kittens runny poos go back to solid again, tried more expensive ones, these are the best for him

Gastrointestinal kibble.

I recently bought this when my Ragdoll developed Colitis. I mix it with Iams hairball kibble as 2 of the 3 cats are fluffy. They all seem to love it and I have noticed that the 11 year old no longer has strong smelling poo. The ragdoll has recovered and is eating normally again so I will continue to purchase it.

No Good For My Cat

My 5 year old BSH has chronic diarrhea for over a year. We are eliminating foods with vet advice. All tests have come back fine. This was on the list. Unfortunately it didn't help my cat. On to the next!

The best Gastro food out there

One of our 4 Maine Coons has absorption issues and so this and it's wet food equivalent were an easy choice to try. It has been universally accepted by all 4, to the point of them ignoring previous favourite foods. Without question it has sorted out all of the big lads issues, and while it isn't cheap, it's chesier than most and is also grain free, unlike some premium veterinary brands. Buy with confidence, great food.

My IBD cat is thriving on this!

After 7 years of trial and error I have finally found the perfect food for my IBD cat! No more vomiting or runny stools and the vet has just confirmed that he has gained a kg in weight! I'm so happy! My other 7 cats enjoy the food too! Highly recommended!

Great stuff!

I decided to try this for two of my cats that have been having loose, slimy & bloody poop for a while. I have tried everything, including some other brands of gastrointestinal food. Nothings works. I decided to try this brand as they’re already on the urinary one after reading the reviews. It’s amazing! Works like magic. No more, loose, slimy and bloody 💩. Defo no more horrendous smell that comes with it as well. Highly recommend this products.

Yum

Ziggy seems to really enjoy it as much as the more expensive brands he has tried. I am pleased that it improves his gut health.

Brilliant

This is the only cat dry food that makes my Persian cats stools normal. I must have tried every brand by now and they all give him the runs. Would recommend this highly for cats with sensitive digestion . Give it a try. I did.

He took one sniff, then refused it

I should clarify that my cat is a very fussy eater. He's very food motivated, and when he finds a food he likes, he won't stop demanding more. I'm sure most cats enjoy this just fine, but my little Biscuit hated it, and I'm reviewing on his behalf. My last cat Betty died of kidney disease, and she was a big fan of Concept for Life's renal range.
