The SureFlap XXL Microchip Pet Door from Sure Petcare is a pet door which is suitable for larger cat breeds and small dogs. It has a built-in sensor which saves and reads your pet's existing microchip. Once saved, the SureFlap XXL Microchip Pet Door will open only for your pet and prevents other animals from entering your home. Alternatively, it can be used with a SureFlap RFID collar tag, one of which is supplied with the product.
The special double lock mechanism provides increased security against other animals. It immediately locks the pet door when it recognises an intruder trying to get in, and there is also a double lock on the inside of the house which stops pets from exiting when they are not allowed to. A further highlight is the Curfew Mode Programme which allows you to specify when the flap is locked and when it is open.

White Pet Door
My cat can get out anyways
My car worked out that if he can put his nail in the little gap of the flap, or if he continuously smacks the door it will eventually give in and open and he can get out anyways. So not so great. Disappointed.

White Pet Door
Very disappointed with the SureFlap XXL Microchip Pet Door for Multiple Cats.
I paid £101.14 expecting it to reliably recognise my cats’ microchips, but it fails to detect any of my three cats consistently, making it effectively useless. Customer service suggested troubleshooting steps and blamed “different microchip frequencies,” which makes little sense when the issue affects all my cats. After installing it (including paying to have glass cut), they refused a refund because the unit had been “used.” Very frustrating experience and poor after-sales support.

Smart Microchip Reading Cat Flap
I bought this just over 2 weeks ago because local cats were visiting too often. The cat flap is very sturdy.
Our cat is frightened by noises and initially would not come in. There are some very good custom modes. I set it to inactive until she was happy using the flap. Then I set it to a 10 second delay after activation. She soon got used to that and now we are free of visiting cats. The unit remembers all custom modes so you need to clear them before setting new ones. e.g. unit inactive

Worked well, for a short while...
Really pleased to start with, cats got used to click noise quickly, and neighbour's cat couldn't get in. Batteries ran out after 4 months, but on replacing them the lock/unlock timer stopped working, so we manually set it morning and night. Batteries died VERY quickly with next two replacements, last replacement went straight to low battery, timer not working even on manual set. Only thing that still works is the microchip recognition. Had this 15 months and need to replace!
Worth every penny
We bought one a year ago, and have only had to change the battery recently. It works perfectly, is easy to use and has managed to keep the local bully cat out of our house. The curfew is great peace of mind as we keep our cats inside when it's dark. We trained our kittens how to use it in about a week after neither of them having been outside before, and both being quite shy. I was originally worried that the smaller one wouldnt be able to manage the door, but she copes fine.
Excellent
We had awful issues with other cats coming in and terrorising our boy, but this has changed everything. He took to it really easily (he’s pretty laid back), and within an hour was using it like his old one. He’s far more confident and knows that he’s safe now and we finally have peace of mind that we won’t come home from work to find him cowering in the corner. I highly highly recommend.

Pure heaven
Hip hip Freedom for me and Porsha. I thought there was going to be a problem with the clicking sound as she's a bit nerve, but no she took to it. It's nice and roomy. She is a bit of a plum as she scratches the window instead of using her nose, as if it's the front door. But she gets in in the end. For freedom it's worth it's weight in gold

Freedom
Thank god for this beauty. My cat hated being locked out, so I had to keep door ajar. This cat flap is so easy to set up, my cat took to it straight away, at first she kept using her paws, then the penny dropped. It's good quality, the clicking sound isn't that bad, had off been loud my cat wouldn't of gone back near it. I recommend it due to easy set up, good quality, click fairly quiet, roomy and the freedom your cat has

Large microchip pet door
Difficult to fit and one of the locks came out of alignment within a month preventing the door from opening, so had to hacksaw it off to continue using it - wouldn't buy it again

Don't buy it
No reflection on Zooplus, but there's not enough space to write all I want to say! Batteries go frequently, you can't stop a cat going out - if they are ill or a kitten for example, and there's a slight delay when they come in which they don't like so mine (used to cat flaps) stand there for ages with it clicking away.. Don't buy it, there are much better ones on the market.

Good cat keys :-)
It's the first flap for my cat and it seems that he liked it. At first he wasn't sure what to do but he got used it if within a few days. It's big enough for bigger cats (mine has 5 kg) and well made. Setting up and chip learning is a piece of cake. It needs 4 'C type' batteries to work (not included). The noise it makes when opening/closing is quite loud so may frighten some cats at the beginning.
I would recommend it, but I have it just for two weeks.

NO GOOD FOR A NERVOUS CAT
WE BOUGHT THIS TO STOP AN INTRUDER CAT BUT WE JUST CANNOT GET OUR VERY NERVOUS CAT TO ACCEPT THE CLICKING NOISE. WE HAVE BEEN TRYING FOR 3 MONTHS, EVERYTHING WE CAN THINK OF, AND SHE WOULD RATHER STAY IN ALL DAY OR STAY OUT, BUT SHE WILL NOT USE IT. WE HAVE HAD TO RESORT TO USING IT AS A NORMAL FLAP WHICH TOTALLY DEFEATS THE OBJECT. IT IS A PARTICULARLY LOUD CLICK! SO PLEASE NOTE IF YOU HAVE A VERY NERVY CAT DO NOT GET ONE!

Broken cat flap
bought in jan stopped working in april, contacted zooplus only to be given a freephone number for sureflap,who then told me i had a faulty motor and they would send 1 in post for me to fit myself do you buy a washing machine from curry's then be expected to fit a new motor yourself i think not, anyway i did fit said part and it's working for now but will never buy anything like this from zooplus again as they should have taken responsibility for this as item as it was purchased from them.
Great for big sized cats
We have a 9 kg old cat and he likes this flap. Easy use and really big.

Great Door
We got this one as we have got 3 cats one of them is a Maine coon and he fits through fine at first we thought they would never get used to it we taped it open so they could use to going through the hole that was fine we then shut it and they took about a week to figure it out it took alot of treats and praise now they use it all the time

Very happy
Bought the pet door to replace our old sureflap microchip cat flap when we moved recently as we wanted the curfew automatic open & lock function. So far very impressed and happy. Easy to install into our upvc door, easy to programme and simple to use. Thought the cat be a bit hesitant at first but no, she was in and out within 30 mins. (I guess the hard work of training happened with our last cat flap). allows entry after the curfew lock time has passed.
Very good flat with several useful functions
Very good product with several different modes. My two timid cats are very timid and they were scared to use the flap because of the click sound. Started off using non-microchip reading mode, then moved to maximum delay option. Now they use the flap happily without any hesitation. Highly recommended.
Worth every penny!
We had previously owned the standard sized SureFlap microchip cat flap for several years, but decided to purchase this larger model due to our small elderly arthritic cat having trouble squeezing through our previous flap comfortably. This flap is everything we could have hoped for, and our cat is so much more comfortable! It has an exceptional range of different modes, including 2 modes that extend the time before the flap locks again after opening, which is really useful for nervous cats.

A better size for our cat and with many very useful features
I bought this as a replacement for the SureFlap Cat Flap I fitted a year ago as the opening on the Pet Door is usefully higher and a bit wider for our smaller medium sized cat and also good size to look out from to check it’s safe the other side. It also has many other very useful benefits, such as custom modes for timid cats and further protection against intruder animals mode and many other benefits, especially for multi-pet households. Our cat and we are very satisfied with the Pet Door.
