Product description

A balanced, grain-free delicious complete wet cat food. Made with premium quality ingredients and valuable taurine. Now in a great value saver pack!
Smilla Tender Poultry at a glance:
  • No grain, gluten-free: The grain-free recipes of Smilla Tender Poultry help to ensure that your cat’s digestive system, which is not designed to process large quantities of grain, is not overburdened. This cat food is also gluten-free.
  • With vitamins and minerals: Vitamins and minerals play a vital role in your cat's nutrition. Vitamin D helps to regulate calcium levels. This is important for bones and joints. Vitamin A and E help to promote healthy eyes, skin and coat.
  • With taurine: With added taurine to help support your cat's healthy eyesight and heart function. Taurine is vital for cats, but their bodies cannot produce sufficient quantities of it.
  • Gently processed: The carefully selected ingredients are cold processed before they are gently cooked. This helps to preserve the natural and delicious flavour.
  • No added sugars, flavourings or preservatives: Smilla Tender Poultry contains no added sugar, artificial additives such as flavour enhancers or preservatives.
Smilla Tender Poultry is a high quality complete wet food, and an amazing taste experience for connoisseur cats.
Made with carefully selected wholesome ingredients, these delicious recipes combine poultry with other delicious flavours including beef, poultry hearts, lamb, sardines or vegetables. The recipes are sugar and grain-free and made without any artificial taste enhancers. Smilla's exquisite flavour is not just a real treat for your cat but also contains all the added vitamins and taurine your cat needs. Smilla provides your cat with all the essential nutrients for a healthy, happy life.
Taurine is a vital nutrient for cats but they are not able to generate it in sufficient amounts. It is essential to feed your cat taurine to maintain healthy heart and eye function. The right balance of calcium and phosphorous also plays a vital role in the development of healthy bones. The balance of both minerals in Smilla wet food is between 1:1 and 2:1, the ideal ratio for your pet. All recipes are cold processed before they undergo gentle cooking in the can. This helps to retain all essential nutrients as well as the amazing, natural flavour which your cat loves.

Smilla Tender Poultry is available in different varieties and also as a mixed saver pack.

The Tender Poultry Mixed Saver Pack 24 x 400g contains:
  • 8 x 400g Tender Poultry with Poultry Hearts
  • 8 x 400g Poultry with Lamb
  • 4 x 400g Poultry with Beef
  • 4 x 400g Poultry with Fish

Smilla products are exceptionally tasty and they are packed with all the nutrients your pet needs.

Smilla is simply irresistible!

Dodgy batch

Our cats usually love this food but we’ve had a batch that they just won’t touch. The lids look popped.

My cats have never eaten like this before

My 3 Bengals have never eaten so well as with this food and the 400g tins are a perfect size for their evening meal. Can't speak too highly of it. It all goes...fast! They have previously been so fussy! In addition, it smells really good! Very unusual for cat food.

This is the best you will find!

I have been searching for a good quality food for what seems like a lifetime as I am very conscious what I feed my 4 ragdolls, after trying the most expensive and most recommended, they wasn’t interested. However, they absolutely love smilla and are thriving off this food. It is perfect for them! I would highly recommend this to anybody that’s been searching high and low for a good cat food that doesn’t cost the earth. Check out their biscuits too they do a great range.

Happy cats - best texture for lump hating cats.

We've only tried the chicken and lamb so far and my three fussy cats loved it. So much so I've come here straight away to write the review. They lick the gravy or jelly of every food in a sachet or tin, in fact I started putting cat food into a smoothie maker for them so there were no lumps. They loved the texture of this food though, just plunged their faces in the bowls and ate it all. I just hope they still like it for a while as I got 24 cans!

What's changed?

Our diabetic cat has been on this for a year and it really helped him to lose weight as we could scrape the fat off as it solidified at the bottom of the tin. but now it seems like they are mixing it once cooled so there are small globules of fat throughout the tin which takes ages to dig out. We will sadly be changing foods.

Smilla

I don’t buy this food because I always find it very concerning when the exact composition of the food, i.e. the proportion of pure meat, is not specified. The cats eat it because no alternative is offered, as the animals have to eat something and are at the mercy of humans.

Not accepted

Although the composition, according to the information, seems to be very good, my cats completely reject Smilla – all varieties, which I don’t understand, because the ingredients are absolutely fine :( However, the stray village cats here eat it without any issues.

We love smilla poultry pots

I have two cats who both love the poultry pot in beef, duck and poultry hearts varieties. Unfortunately the fish and lamb didn't go down too well so I stopped buying the mixed packs. Smilla is slightly wetter than other high quality cat foods, which is good for my two and they enjoy it. I like knowing that I'm not feeding them unnecessary grains, sugars and additives. The litter trays have been MUCH less smelly since moving to smilla from supermarket meat.

Smilla has changed - for the better!

I am so glad I revisited, the previous recipe none of my five would touch, however, I purchased the 800g tester tins & they loved all but one - fish being a real favourite. Back to stock up. Much prefer pate food as, the cats don't get the opportunity to only eat the jelly!

smilla has changed

I've bought Smilla from you for years now, but last order the varieties have changed. I ordered just thinking that the lables are now in English, but the varieties and the recipes are different and it's not gone down well with my cats. I used to buy the 400g saver packs in Salmon, Beef and Chicken as these were the flavours my cats like. The variety of options is gone, and the consistency of the new tins is like a pate.

untouched...

...my otherwise trouble-free omnivores leave the food in the bowl – not even when mixed with their favourite food is it acceptable. Such a shame!

Tender Poultry Saver pack

I bought this as a trial, which has gone down so well with my feline family I am back to buy more! No waste, nothing nasty in the food - it all gets eaten and quite quickly!

Good if you're on a budget

I've been buying this for a few months now. One of my cats is intolerant to grains, so this is a good budget friendly alternative. They both seem to like it. Their coats are lovely and shiney and I'm feeding less of the calorific dry food.

Tuna with poultry - unfortunately no longer on the menu

Our cat absolutely refuses to eat any other food except the Tuna with Poultry variety from Smilla. Unfortunately, it's unavailable again, and we can't get her to eat any other cat food!!! >T.T< A Cat-tastrophe! At the moment, we're feeding her raw, but even that's causing problems. Hopefully, there will soon be a way to get this variety again!!! Our tomcat is delighted – he does enjoy a bit of variety on his plate ;) but he also loves this flavour very much.

Tuna and Chicken

I have two cats, one who prefers wet food and another who prefers dry, so finding food they will both eat is tricky. Having tried the mixed pack, I found they'll only touch the tender fish and poultry - Tuna and Chicken (not to be confused with the tender poultry and fish, which is more like a paté). There are visible chunks of real meat and it smells good. I see the quality in my cats' fur and eyes. I also feed them Almo Nature Holistic Chicken & Rice dry food in the morning.

Happy as Asterix! ;)

Our tomcat Knurri devours his Smilla portions like Asterix guzzling his magic potion, but it wasn’t always like this. For a long time, it was a back-and-forth until we decided to exclusively order lamb. In January, everything went perfectly—right on time, little Knurri demanded his "taurine fix." It’s true, after eating, he goes completely wild! ;) Unfortunately, something seems off with the current February tins; he refuses to eat them, but he happily eats the ones from January.

Tuna with Sardines

My cats would rather starve than eat this! It made them very miserable.
