Product description

  • Dietetic wet food for adult cats
  • For those with insufficient digestion and acute resorption disorders
  • Also ideal for during and after acute diarrhoea
  • With an increased electrolyte content
Concept for Life Veterinary Diet Gastrointestinal Cans are a premium complete wet food for adult cats with inadequate digestion, disturbed pancreatic function and acute absorption disorders. These cats do not digest food sufficiently, so they can't absorb nutrients properly. The intestinal flora is disturbed, vomiting and diarrhoea can cause further loss of body water and vital electrolytes. The mucous membranes in the gastrointestinal tract can also become irritated. If these symptoms occur over a long period of time, they can lead to dehydration and emaciation. If your cat has a pancreatic disfunction such as exocrine pancreatic insufficiency these symptoms may be analogous.

How can Concept for Life Veterinary Diet Gastrointestinal support your cat?
Concept for Life Veterinary Diet Gastrointestinal is a specially developed high-premium dietary complete food for adult cats, which is optimally adapted to the nutritional needs of cats with inadequate digestion and impaired pancreatic function. Palatable ingredients include turkey meat and offal, pumpkin and salmon oil, all of which are easy to digest so that your cat's digestive system is not overloaded. Feed this food in small portions for optimal compatibility. The increased ratio of selected minerals helps to quickly compensate for any loss of electrolytes. This supports your cat's well-being. The high liquid content in this wet food boosts your cat's fluid intake, helping to prevent dehydration. It is suitable if your cat is suffering from acute or chronic diarrhoea. Concept for life Veterinary Diet Gastrointestinal also contains mannan-oligosaccharides and salmon oil which is rich in omega 3 fatty acids. This helps to build up the disturbed gut flora and has an anti-inflammatory effect. This tasty cat food is low in fat which is important if your pet is suffering from exocrine pancreatic insufficiency.

Finally a food which doesn’t make my cat vomit!

I have tried so many foods for my sickly IBD cat and this one is finally helping him and he loves it.

Excellent

My young 1 year old cat started being sick after her food so I immediately knew there was a problem with her food, I switched to GI concept for life & fingers crossed no upset tummy since, she absolutely loves both the wet & dry version of this food & had zero problems, it’s. 200g tin also which is great as goes a long way accompanied with the dry.

It’s made a difference

My Ragdoll of Nine years old has been diagnosed with pancreatitis, He had terrible diarrhoea I was Recommended to try this food as it has pumpkin in it , Which helps with diarrhoea. He is a changed cat ,he has Solid poos, he is more playful . Seems to be very happy. I would definitely recommend to try .

Cat with IBD loves this

Cat has IBD & from being a cat who liked variety & was fussy, had to go on a single food/single probiotics diet with small dose of steroids. She absolutely loves this & yums it up every meal & her motions have settled to be perfect. We just have to hope that she never goes off it as the other gastro foods we'd tried didn't solve the diarrhoea. I think it's the fact that it's a more 'novel' protein that has helped. We use this & the pouch version.

No Good For My Cat

My 5 year old BSH has had chronic diarrhea for over a year. All tests have come back fine. We have been advised to try different gastro foods. This one didn't work for my boy unfortunately.

Wasted purchase

Bought this when royal canin kitten gastro was unavailable. Unfortunately our kitten hates it. Big chunks of pumpkin in it and looks very unpleasant too.

Unsafe

My cat suffered from severe diarrhoea whenever he ate this food

Only thing Siamese with pancreatitis will eat!

Royal Canin changed their gastrointestinal moderate calorie wet food recipe which meant my cat wouldn’t eat it. We tried the following foods instead and she refused all of them! Hills Prescription i/d Cat Food (Digestive Care wet food) Hills Science Plan Mature Adult 7+ Royal Canin Ageing 12+ pouch Applaws Senior Chicken This wet food however she eats and seems to love! Thanks zooplus!

Have Ingredients Changed

My cat used to love this when it came in pate and had a very strong smell. Now it comes in pieces and has no smell and now my cat won't eat it. Why has it changed.

Have Ingredients changed

My cat used to love this, but the last lot I had, the smell was different and the texture was different and my cat won't eat it.

Fussy old girl

My poor lil girl has been suffering acute bowel issues , on so much medications from the vets . I jad been through all the vets gastrointestinal food and he would not eat it. He's at the final stage so I thought I'd give this a go along with the biscuits. It's only been 2 days and he is devouring his food and biscuits 😊. I'm over the moon I just hope he doesn't become bored of the flavour. It's too soon to see if this will help towards stopping his loose stools . Thank you zooplus I will be reordering

Something has changed

My sensitive cat used to love this and would lap it up as soon as we put it down, however recently the consistency has been a lot drier and she refuses to touch it. Such a shame as we're limited as to what we can feed her, and this one is now off the menu.

Very good

My cat has just been diagnosed with inflammatory bowel disease. Has had a very bad bout of diarrhea and is now on steroids. I started giving him this as I was at my wit's end what to feed him. I showed it to my vet and he said keep him on it at the moment as he is stable. Normal bowel movements. So I would say work with the vet if your cat has this disease. It's been good for my cat. If your cat has IBD it's really hard what to give them. I hope this experience helps someone.

Gastrointestinal

After trying all the other brands this is the one my cat loved.

Change of formula

The products was great before however now I ordered again and my cat won't touch it no matter how hungry he is.....I know that there is something off with the new ones because I had an old can unopened and my cat ate it with no hesitation when I gave it to him and yet still refuses to eat the new ones.....very disappointed that I now have to search for a new cat food .

Provoquin Diarrea

It is a shame because my case likes the smell and he was very happy to see that I was opening the cans for him, however, he was having diarrhoea. Something that never happened before in his case. He has pancreatitis and he needs to eat special food. I found that product saying that would help with pancreatitis disease. I don't think so. So the smell and the taste I guess is good as my cat was very happy eating it, but the smell of the poo and the diarrhoea created was not very good.

Working :)

My cat was diagnosed with big colon. It seems working and he does enjoy it. He also has to lose weight a little despite his appetite. I tried other gastrointestinal diet food but the meat contains is so little but just gravies. So the volume of contains satisfy him.

Still loose

I purchased this tinned gastro food for 2 if cats with soft stools, unfortunately it gave one of them even worse diarrhea! Horrible beige coloured and smelly! They really don't want to eat it either and if they are offered just this food they will definitely become malnourished as they really don't want to eat it. Best avoid this and the vets are no help either

Helped his diarea at last!

This helped my kitten diarea to stop as he was only on raw food when first brought him home. Vet after vet with expensive brands of gastro I got this from zooplus thanks so much what a help he eats very fast as well! You can give few times a day of the tin and small portions it's apsolute life saver!

Perfect for the Ragdoll breed

I’ve struggled to get a food that don’t upset my Ragdolls tummy’s, the breed is known for sensitive guts, I was worried about trying this after trying a few different foods I wasn’t expecting much joy from it, but to my delight it’s perfect all my Ragdolls and maine coon’s love it and no more runny tummy’s, wish I found this food ages ago! I definitely recommend
