After looking around for a week or so for a new cage for our new Syrian Hamster, this seemed to be perfect. My hamster loves it, it fits very well on my shelf in the front room and looks great. One corner was a bit damaged when I received it, nothing worth sending the lot back for, a little super glue fixed it. Overall the reviews really helped me make up my mind, I am not disappointed at all and my hamster loves it, I am sure!

Great cage lots of interest!! A little bit fiddly to put levels in! but overall a good size and due to the three levels creates an interesting and stimulating environment.I have not put in the wooden tubes yet as a little worried a syrian may get stuck perhaps they more suited to dwarf hamsters. (will try to hollow out a little more) Hamster very happy!! Looks good too! nice neutral colours.

I bought this cage for my hamster minnie as i had a really small one from pets at home, they dont seem to supply big cages and i soon learned that my cage was more for dwarf hamsters and i have a syrian, her wheel barley worked beacuse of her weight and it was cheap plastic, she is not fat but she has got really big, some people say she is boardering on guinnea pig lol, so i felt that she really needed more space, i bought her this cage and i dont think she could be happier, granted the layers are really tricky to get in, i hope she pees on the sawdust as i dont ever wanna talk them back out to clean, my tray also turned up abit cracked but after waiting long enough i just taped it. i do worry some how she will get out as her cage before was more plastic so less risky, she is an escape artist. i also bought her the wooden wheel which is fantastic, i can now see she was desperate for a wheel. very very happy minnie with a hole lot more space, she dont want to come out any more :( xx

This is a fantastic cage with plenty of room, I can't praise it enough. I love it, hamster loves it. Just soak the red dye out of the hamster house roof before use!

Is the height between the ground floor and 1st floor big enough for fitting your own house toys ect...?

world this be ideal for 2 gerbils because they liek to chew alot, they have torn through a log cabin

size of the cage is fine but the 2nd and 3rd storey bases are made out of cheap ply not really suitable for cleaning and hard to take out, the wheel fits between the bars too tightly and wont turn easily. If your pet makes a bed on the upper 2 tiers half the bedding and sawdust falls out of the cage and makes a constant mess as there is no lip around the cage to keep in the sawdus.t For £60 you would expect a better design, be prepared with the Dyson or expect sawdust all around the house!

I ordered this cage for my 5 baby mice and I'm very impressed with the size and quality. My mice were 9-10 weeks old when they went in, so quite small still, but the small bar spacing means no escapes. The only down side would be the wooden shelves, over time when the wee sinks in it would smell, but I simply painted the shelves with Japlac (brought from homebase) and problem solved. Excellent cage for value :)

i have 1 syrian hamster (honeysuckle) and she LOVES this cage, theres lots for here to do and tons of space to run around in. its massive, my mum walked it to the room after i assembled it and said 'wow its a hamster hotel' i've given it 4 stars though cos the base had a crack in it when it arrived, rather than send it back i just taped it up! best cage ever!! :o)

So easy to put together and very large so suitable for a serian hamster with a lot of toys! would definitly recomend this cage! although the items that come free with the cage are pretty much useless as they are to small for a syrian hamster to fit through but are very cheap to repalace & add your own taste. Cheap cage to buy as wont need replacing when hamster gets to big.

if you have a hamster that likes to chew things then i wouldnt wouldt be great but other wise its spacious and great

The Cage arrived very quickly after order however the plastic base was cracked and broken on one corner. I emailed zooplus with my problem they sent out a new cage (which arrived 3 days later) and they also arranged for a courier to pick up the old one too. Very friendly service and quick to respond, it was no trouble to replace it. The cage itself is great once you get it set up. The wires were a little bent at first but after I got the levels in they straightened out. The ladders are a bit tricky to put in, you have to make sure you put the first ladder in before you put the second ladder in other wise you won't get it in. I also swapped out the hooks for clips to prevent them from coming out. I was worried about my hamster weeing on the wooden floors but she hasn't so far and they do clean quick easily with a pet friendly wipe. The accessories are a little too small for a syrian hamster but I bought all my own toys seperatly anyway. The only thing I did use was the house. Just make sure you soak the roof, the red dye runs straight out and doesn't come of things easy inculding your pets! fortunatly I was aware of this before hand so I didn't have any mishaps. I had to bend one of the bars a little to get the water bottle in but that was no big deal really. Over all an excellent cage well designed so they can't fall from a great height, spacious so there is plenty of room for them to run about and to put toys in. My hamster loves it! I'm considering buying another hamster and I will definitly be buying another one of these cages if I do so.

Really impressed with the customer service, no quibble when cage arrived damaged, replacement sent by return and courier arrived to pick up the damaged cage.Excellent! Love the cage, loads of space for toys for my 4 roborovskis, who bomb around up and down the levels, climb accross on the top bars and burrow in the sawdust on the bottom floor. I bought the wood/stick ladders for between the levels and there's plenty of room for 2 wheels (silent spinners.) The storeys mean you can watch the antics of the hamsters easily, the only downside is it is slightly difficult to clean each level, but overall worth the extra effort.

Pleased to find this cage: Searched high and low for a decent sized, well made, affordable rat cage that wasn't too deep to fit limited space in a flat and had a plastic, not metal (heavy) base for these dimensions. This is suitable for two rats according to cage size calculator on rat welfare websites. FLOORS: However, same sites say wood floors could get smelly with rats, so replaced with two v. cheap and perfectly fitting plastic (removable and washable) chopping boards as half-floors. Holes drilled in corners to fix to bars and to secure the ladders that came with the cage. The rats love climbing space so the mezanine floor arrangement works better than complete floors may have done, I suspect. We added a plastic tube 'house' and some home-made hammocks to increase play area and they tear around from top to bottom, wrestling, chasing each other and stashing things. One loves the wheel, which is fine for a 9-week female ratlet, but may have to be replaced if she grows much bigger. LITTLE HOUSE: We are also using the little house but without its front on (door otherwise too small). NOTE it needs a good soak in hot water to remove xs red dye from roof: I first thought my new ratlet had injured herself with bright red patch on her tail until it became obvious as to its source! HANDLES & CLIPS Have had to fit handles so semisecured by base clips through them, as rats otherwise would regularly pull them into cage (because they can of course!) Irritating when you come to lift cage and they aren't there. You could of course just take them off until you need them. Impressed with spare clips to fix base to cage top in case of chewing. REALLY PLEASED WITH THIS CAGE. GOOD VALUE DESPITE LIMITIONS OF ACCESSORIES, especially with introductory 10%discount. EXCELLENT DELIVERY, 4 days after order.

I just love this cage, its about the most space in terms of floor space that i could find. I have 3 russian hamsters and they love running between the levels, i have filled it with toys and also replaced the ladders with the flexible small wooden stick ladders also from Zooplus (who have the best hamster range i have seen!). Don't use the wheel that comes with it however if you value your sleep. i have two silent spinners in mine and they work perfectly.

We took this thing to finefare - it fit plenty of our groceries in but we noticed as we were pushing it up the veg aisle that it had no wheels. Not a problem though - we had french loaves in the basket so used these like logs to move it along - score.

This is a great cage size wise, we ended up buying 4 for our hamsters. I really don't think much of the shelving, it's difficult to get in and out and to clean. We replaced all of ours with new home made ones and these have proved a real hit with our boys, more accessability etc! The wheel is totally hopeless, best replaced with a silent spinner, these work perfectly in this cage. This cage is very spacious and well worth buying, any hamster would be proud to call this their home! :-)

my hamster has had a big upgrade from his small cheap plastic cage. the new one is wonderful. the only downside is that the wheel gets stuck and is made cheaply. I recommend buying a better one, its a pain in the but!

This cage is an excellent size for hamsters and there's plenty of space for 'toys' to keep them busy. The included wheel isn't very good but replaced it with a 'silent spinner' also I think the holes in the included logs would be too small for a syrian. The size of the cage is great. Our hamster loves scurrying up to the top floor when we call. However, one of the door catches is a bit loose and he managed to push it open and escape. On the other hand, the wheel fits so tightly to the bars that it does not turn easily so we will have to buy another.
