Had high hopes for this, as my dog has always enjoyed another brand, but recently that one seems to have more and more jelly instead of tripe. So, tried this and she wouldn't go near it. She wouldn't be tempted by mixing Rocco classic meat in with it either. I've had to give all of it away. Nothing wrong with the quality, but it may be the smell - has a slight cow dung smell! It is so healthy for your dog, but if you are thinking of buying then I would suggest a trial pack first.

Although my Charlie has always loved Rocco (especially the mixes with reindeer or salmon) I totally agree with the other recent reviews about the fat content. In addition to there being more fat visible throughout the tin, there's recently been a really thick layer of fat at the bottom. Very off-putting...

I admit, it smells great and my dogs love it, but lately I’ve been buying other brands because of the very worrying amount of fat in this meat. A good centimetre at the bottom is pure white fat. I think it used to be less fatty when I first bought it a couple of years ago.

First time I purchased the saver pack I was quite pleased, it looked very meaty and our 4 dogs seemed to love it (they love any food though!) On my 3rd purchase I have noticed an increase in the amount of thick white fat at the bottom of the tin, I don't like this so pick off as much as possible. Its good value but I think I will look for something else.

One of the better-digested foods for our dog, but not anymore as of 2026.04. In recent months, the ordered food contains a lot of fat, not only at the bottom but also mixed in, and still a large amount of hearts. I have a dog who is sensitive to the content of offal, especially liver, but with this beef-chicken hearts food there were no problems. Unfortunately, due to the increased fat content, my dog is having issues—light-colored stool and loss of appetite appeared. Two stars for the lack of plant fiber in the food and for the fat.

I've been buying Rocco wet food for years. At first it was fine, but lately I've had to spend more and more time removing all the gelatin that surrounds the meat, which results in a loss of weight.

It's a shame, it has some good things but also a lot of fat.
