Trixie Capri 3 Open Top Pet Carrier

I bought this carrier before and was very happy with it, so I decided to buy it again. The quality is very good, the plastic is strong and reliable, and the size is comfortable for my pet. The top opening is very convenient and makes it much easier to put the pet inside. The carrier feels safe and well made. I definitely recommend it.

The Carrier itself is fine nice size too I have bought three of these over the years the only problem as a lot of other people have mentioned is the problem with the top clips they are fine for a while then get looser the more they are used then they break its very frustrating especially when there are no other problems with it Surely the manufacturers can come up with a better fastening than these ?

Good for first 2 visits to vet and 1 kennel visit. Unfortunately last visit to vet top top came off top clips broke while going into vets. Only got as one review said great for two cats. And for 12kg. Very disappointing.

Good for first 2 visits to vet and 1 kennel visit. Unfortunately last visit to vet top top came off top clips broke while going into vets. Only got as one review said great for two cats. Very disappointing.

The plastic clips securing the top opening lid that the handle is attached to broke on only the third time of using. My cat at 6.6kg was well within the max weight of 12kg. We were lucky the clips shattered in the house & not whilst we were carrying him outside.

First use - broke top clips and a handle came off, second - broke the clip for the shoulder strap. Top opening is small for a cat, side opening has stupid lock system. My cat is only 5 kg. DON'T BUY!

Bought this for my Maine Coon so he could have plenty of room. Yesterday I had to make a dash to the vets with him so put him in, walked about 20 yards to the car and the top opening which the handle is attached to broke. So a poorly cat was dropped to the floor. The fixings just snapped. THIS WAS ON IT's FIRST USE. Vet weighed him and he is 6.5 kilo. Description says up to 12.

I wanted a cat carrier which would be comfortable for my 6kg cat to travel in. This carrier was large enough, however after only a few months of minimal usage the plastic clips which hold the top door closed snapped. The carrying handle is on the top door and the clips were not strong enough to hold when I picked up the carrier with the cat in it. The clips snapped and the cat could easily have escaped. The plastic inserts for the front door are also extremely difficult to fix in place.

This is a good, sturdy and roomy carrier. We have two of these and the tops are difficult to close up properly once undone. It takes a bit of jiggling about to make them secure again. We just use the front doors now. Very roomy especially for big cats...our Ragdolls have plenty of space.

I've used these carriers for several years now for my Norwegian Forest Cats who regularly go to shows- our carriers get more use than the average pet owner's! The carriers are robust (unlike what other reviewers say) and it is perfectly possible to get even my 7.5 kilo male in and out of the top opener with no problem. It's handy to have the slots on the top to use the seat belt to strap the carriers in, and I occasionally use the wheels (bought separately). I often recommend them to people to buy if they have Norwegians, or big cats.

My two miniature dachshund happily use this box as sleeping place and hopefully will enjoy the rides in the car more now. The hooks for the strap wouldn't fit and if you travel a lot I would recommend higher quality than this box; much plastic. But for a ride to the vet it's ok.

Unfortunately the top opening flap was too small for my cat who hates being put into a basket. She would struggle too much for me to fit her in the rather small top opening. Also not sure my 6month old bengal mix would get in there either. Other than that would have been a good carrier! Had to return it

i lvoe this carrier its really big and roomy with a openning at the top. I use it to take 1 or 2 big cats to the vets or one mum cat with her 6 kittens! We could have fitted more in! I never bothered with any strap you dont need it, easy to put together to, even if the instructions that come with it are for another crate!

I bought this cat box for my bengal cat a few months ago as he is terrible getting into a front opening cage & I thought it would be easier for me (& him) to pop him in through the top. It is a great success for him as he is far less stressed through this method. But the real beauty of the cage was revealed when another of my cats has become very ill recently, the ease of the top opening allowed me to gently place him down into the box instead of pushing him in through the front, in fact he was so ill the vet was able to unclip the top from the bottom and examine him without having to lift him out. I would recommend this transporter to all cat owners, you never know when you might need it.

I could not get the hooks that are intended to allow a carrying strap to be attached to go on (one end of each hook will go in but then the other will not). There is no answer on the support line.

The reason this cage is a life saver is because it literally makes the transition stage from my house to the vet so much easier. My sweetie likes to travel, but every time we get in the car, she always insists to climb into my lap. This comfortable easy to access dog cage prevents me from getting in a wreck, and gives her the comfort that she needs. I would recommend this durable and practical pet cage to anyone.

I thought this was great to get my cat in and out of. I needed an open top as I have a problem with one hand, so this box was ideal. She also loved going out the side door then jumping in and out using the top. Great idea.

I have a cat that weighs almost 7 kg. I've taken her to the vet maybe 4 times at most, but the last time, on the way home, the top clasps broke right in the middle of the street, causing the carrier to fall to the ground with the cat inside. It opened both from the top and the front because of the impact. If your cat weighs more than 5-6 kg, I wouldn't recommend it.

Very good product

It arrived with a broken support on top. I only noticed after using it for over a month.

The price-performance ratio is right. The box is big enough for Maine Coons. The material is good too. Because of the grid on top, though, I only feel “safe” with one cat weighing up to about 5-6 kg. The box probably can handle more, but for heavier cats I prefer a box without a grid on top.

At first, the box made a good impression when I unpacked it, but that quickly disappeared as soon as I tried to securely connect the two parts using the five fasteners (left, right, back). The fasteners are completely made of plastic and not particularly well made. Because of this, two of them kept popping open. That meant the box was no longer safe for transporting animals. I complained and sent the box back. The returns process was straightforward.
