Natural Paradise Scratching Tree - Magnolia XL Plus

It’s a wonderful tree, however, it’s not like the picture and description. It isn’t a panelled wood hideaway at all it’s just cheap board covered in fleece fabric. I bought the tree based on this and now feel a little cheated. This will easily get ripped by claws. Disappointed …

Only three stars because the beds are cheap, do not last, can't be purchased separately & are fitted to the tree in a way that makes them dangerous. Such a shame because this is a substantial good looking tree for a great price but it is badly let down by the two beds fixed only with strips of velcro. Our kitten climbed up & as he tried to climb into the bed the velcro separated & he fell just over five feet to the floor

A nice looking product and very sturdy. As I bought this for large cats as it stated it was for being the XL, I found the beds way too small. I have other Natural Paradise products with good sized beds but this falls short. Definitely not suitable for large cats as stated.

Looks good in burgundy. Only issue i had was very hole had been drilled too small for the screws to fit. Had to drill them bigger.

It's really good, big. But I don't know when it might fall... it's not stable at all, I don't know how to secure it... neither of my cats goes up because the structure wobbles.

I have two British Shorthair cats, though I admit they’re on the smaller side for their breed. The material and the scratching post are high quality. The material doesn’t have that strong chemical smell either. But the layout is unfortunate. One of my little tomcats even had a nasty fall. They can climb up the post, but then their head is directly under the top platform and the cats can’t “grab around” to get onto the platform. The material of the platform doesn’t allow them to get a good grip with their claws, and the cushion tears off.

The scratching post looks very nice and at first glance seems stable. Unfortunately, in practice, the whole structure wobbles quite a lot. When my 4 kg cat jumps onto the top bed at night, the base hits the floor so hard that it usually wakes me up. For this price, I definitely expected a more stable construction. The beds themselves could also be better made. The bottom of the beds is made from thin material, and the cushion inside the little house is honestly a bit of a joke. What a shame.

Visually, the cat tree gets 10 out of 10. Unfortunately, even after 3.5 weeks, it still smells of chemicals or treated wood. I’ve already washed the cushions several times, even at 90 degrees, and left them outside for days, but the chemical smell just won’t go away. On top of that, the tree wobbles – I had to put something under the wooden base to make it at least somewhat stable. In summary: it looks good, but that’s about it.

Back then, my husband got me the Jasmin XXL – top quality. Because of that, I bought the good one myself about 10-12 months ago. At first, there were pink stains on it and some hairs, for which I got a discount… Now the next dilemma. One of the cushions (Magnolia XL Plus, grey) is starting to fall apart. With the Jasmin XXL, which is older, the cushions aren’t even damaged – sure, they’re a bit “worn in”, but the fabric isn’t tearing…

Our scratching post is already a few years old. The quality was great, so I’ve already replaced the sisal posts twice in the meantime. However, I’m surprised that it’s advertised for large cats. Anything over 5 kg is definitely too heavy, doesn’t fit on the platform and also not in the little house. It’s our senior cat’s scratching post, he weighs 4.8 kg, that fits and he’s not wild anymore either. The babies are now between 8 and 13 kg – absolutely no chance!
