My cat (Heimdal) is very sad today because his 2nd favorite laser toy fell off the table and now won't move the laser around. This toy is ok, he seemed to enjoy it while it worked. However, there are a few drawbacks to this one. It's very fiddly, it only moves in 2 specific ranges. One is very far and one is too close. Placing this on the floor the circle only projects slightly in front of itself and adjusting the mirror puts it on the wall. So the solution is to put it on a table or windowsill. This is a new set of challenges, you now have to find the exact spot of the -edge- of your table or sill. Otherwise the cat will only get to play half of the time. Which is how mine found itself falling to the ground every time my laser loving cat tried to make the laser work. He discovered where the button was and started pushing his head into it. So of course, it makes it fall. Of course, anything will make something fall if it has to sit on the edge of a table. The first fall made the mirror no longer stay in position, so we had to stuff a piece of paper in the slot to keep it positioned (only one position makes the laser stay on the ground) and that was literally on day two of owning this toy. We've had this toy for 2 months and now it will only work in manual mode. And this is slightly unwieldy to use it that way. So if you have a very curious cat who likes to investigate things (i.e. knock things off of tables sometimes) don't expect this to last very long. Also, when it falls on the ground all 4 batteries pop out. The cats found that amusing. Otherwise, he really loved it and often would ask to play with it.

Bodhi, our kitten loves chasing the laser dot from our little handheld mouse. (Also purchased from Zooplus and highly recommended!) This should, in theory take all the effort out of making him chase around the room but unfortunately, as some others have mentioned the way the motor moves means that he often loses where it's shining. It's also difficult to find a place to site the device in our large lounge/diner which keeps the dot on the floor most of the time. It's also VERY noisy so if you're using it to try and distract him whilst you're watching TV or working from home it's not the best thing. If they could allow you to have more control over the speed and direction of movement and make it a bit quieter I'd happily pay twice as much but as it is it's of limited use for us

Fabulous!!! My delivery has just arrived and couldn't wait to set up the FroliCat Bolt Laser Cat Toy... My youngest, 2yr old cat is having a wonderful time chasing the red dot... and giving me some peace to work!! Best toy ever!!!

My two critters have very low boredom thresholds but this toy gets them going every time! One cautionary note: this toy is not silent & the noise eventually attracted the attention of one of my cats! It was up where she couldn't reach it - best leave it out of reach is my advice!

My cat has always loved laser pointers but sometimes I'm too tired to stand waving it about for him for hours on end. This toy randomly whizzes about a laser for quite a while, before it switches itself off (at which point my cat, Percy, meows and I switch it back on again!) It is random enough to keep him interested, and bright enough for him to see. It is a brilliant toy and I would recommend it to anyone with an easily bored cat.

My indoor cat absolutely loves this!Great product and even when switched off, he taps it as he wants to play with it more.Not noisy as previous reviews may suggest.

My cats love this, one sits and watches the other go mad chasing the laser around. I feel like the timer goes on a little too long, sometimes they are falling asleep and the beam is still whizzing around them!

Overall a good buy. It is noisy & the base can draw more attention than the beam sometimes but when the beam has her attention it works brilliantly. We already knew she was a laser fan & have frequently tired our arms out keeping her entertained...this hands-free alternative does a way better job than us!

My cat loves following this lazer, but still prefers when I use the hand held function. I find on automatic the dot tracks quite slow, then suddenly jumps to a different location and she loses it briefly. She prefers when i move the dot in a smooth but fast motion and will run around after it, less so when its on the automatic function. In principle its a good idea and I don't regret the purchase, but I will be on the look out for a future replacement which is quieter and tracks in a smoother manner.

I was expecting my cat to turn her nose up at this toy like she has so many others. I am ecstatic to say I was wrong. The first day this arrived, Molly played with it for 13 hours with hardly a break. She loves being able to chase round and round the room like a nutter without having to nag her slave to break her wrist swishing a toy about.

What a good buy! I have four fat lazy Persians that need to be entertained and stimulated to play. This does the trick so effectively without killing my finger holding down a laser pointer or swinging a toy around - they love it! The noise doesn't phase them but be sure to allow them to catch a toy afterwards so they have the satisfaction of not just hunting but catching their prey. I use a fishing rod toy afterwards. They love the toy, I love the product - satisfaction all around!

My cat just love it, and if she was the "boss" in my home it wouls be turn on 24/7 .....And when we had kitten´s they loved it too ...

Bought this toy for my two 7 month old kittens and I must say I think it is fantastic. My kittens loved the basic laser pointer but my fingers didn't so when I saw this automatic one I thought I would give it a try. People have said it is noisy and yes it is a bit but if you have the TV on or people are talking then you cannot hear it and even if the room is silent the best place for this toy is up on a shelf about 6 foot from the floor so that the beam moves around the entire floor and the kittens don't notice the noise or the unit then. Of course the kittens are going to be more interested in the unit if you just sit it on the floor in the middle of the room, it took me about 5 minutes to realise that was not the way to go. I cannot praise this toy high enough and I would urge everyone to buy one.

My kitten won't go near it. It is a very noisy machine and uses 4 AA batteries. The laser pointer jumps suddenly to a different place in the room and the kitten loses it.

Yes, you've heard it all before - best thing since sliced bread etc. etc. Now I'm kicking myself for waiting as long to buy this (thinking the price is steep). It is SO well worth the money. At the moment, poor kitty spends all day inside not liking the cold and wet then is bored at night. I sit there trying to watch tv while pointing a hand held lazer and getting fed up quickly but feeling infinitely guilty when she's sat staring into space waiting for something to come along and play with. The FroliCat Bolt keeps her going for hours. If you want abit of extra action, it's great doing it manually! Also great to leave on when off out walking the dogs as you know it switches off after 15 minutes. Kitty is endlessly entertained and you don't even have to be in the house. Additionally brilliant because one of the dogs chases Kitty chasing the lazer thinking she's wanting her to play, too :-D Just need to refine your "Search" IWOOT so it comes up when you type 'cat' or 'Froli' or 'Bolt' or similar.

the laser goes too fast for the cats to keep up so they quickly lose interest. Also the unit makes a very loud sound every time it changes the direction of the laser, so the cats ended up just sniffing around the unit and not chasing the beam. Big shame.
