Unfortunately even though I put the batteries required, the mechanism doesn't work unless held at a jaunty angle. But, my cat doesn't seem to mind much. He loves the fact the butterfly gets knocked down and springs straight back up. Really seems to tire him out, which says a lot.

Both my 2 Maine Coons love this toy and play for hours with it.

My two Siamese Cats really love this toy. They have played with it for three weeks, the original butterfly is still holding together. (You get 4 butterflies with the toy, and replacements are really good value and available from Zooplus)

My cats love this. They are on their second one and it's good you can get spare butterflies now. They sit tapping it until you turn it on! The original one turned off after 3 minutes but it looks like they have changed the toy as I have now tried 3 others and the timer function doesn't work an any of them, which makes me think they design has changed and there isn't a timer function anymore. Shame as it was a useful feature but doesn't stop my cats loving it.

This really needs speed settings!! It spins round so quick I think it could even be a little dangerous... the butterfly doesn't 'flutter' at all it just whizzes around.

My cats wont touch this. The butterfly doesn't flutter, it just spins. Complete waste of money.

My two bengals love this toy :) It comes with four butterflies, so should last well even with two bengals. Really great toy and definitely recommend

The idea of the item is great, but it spins so fast that it hits our cats in the eyes, it's to fast for them as such it is not safe for them to play with. If there was a speed adjustment then this could be much better.

My three cats love it. They sit around it together and paw the butterfly to each other. It keeps them amused and they seem fascinated by the movement of the butterfly.

All 4 cats loved this at first, the first butterfly didn't last long (glad there are now replacements) 2 cats are now not interested anymore but our 2 kittens still love it, one of them likes to pick it up by the wire and bring it to me to turn on usually at 4am (not so good when it's dropped on your head)

I wanted to get something that my cat can play with by himself and I don't need to do much as he is 6 months old and he wants a lot attention and play all the time. This looked interesting with many positive reviews. However when I switch it on he watches the butterfly for a minute and then he walks away... If the butterfly is switched off he is not interested in at all so this one goes into cupboard with his other stuff that he doesn't like!

My youngest loves this, if you could get butterflies separatly I'd give it 5 stars

My 2 cats love this toy even when it's not switched on! It has been a good buy at a very good price, and I can recommend it. It also comes with spare butterflies in case the cats give it a hard time.

I have only just got this toy 2day for my 3 cats all 3 of them run from it never seen them move so fast bless them yes its something new i do think this toy should have settings on it has it spins around to fast the toy is in the middle of my frontroom no cats in sight

After reading some of the reviews I was a little worried my little Luna wouldn't find this toy fun, but I was completely wrong! She cannot stop playing with it. Not only is it fun for her, but it's also very entertaining to watch. Would defiantly recommend this product.

Great toy which my cat gets hours of fun from, my cat doesnt seem as intent on destroying the butterfly unlike other reviews. We are still on the first one. As others noted, it is a shame the butterfly doesnt have a slower rotation, its either fast or off but thats a minor note. Finally, all for paws sell the same toy, but with white base. You can buy spare butterflies from ebay /amazon for the afp model which is the same as this one, just a different colour. I bought spares and they fit the same

I mean she loved it when we first got it but quickly became bored of it. I've tried again after leaving it a few months and she's completely unfazed by it. I'm going to keep it in the hope she'll one day become interested. This product drains battery's like mad! I've had to replace (duracel) battery after one use! Once the product slowed down only after 5 mins.. with brand new batterys mind.

My cats really enjoyed this and I think its built pretty well...they have chewed the butterfly's up a bit but are still chasing them!

Petrified of it as soon as i switched it on. In my excitement of thinking she'd love it I ripped packing open so it's just a ornament sat in the corner of the room. 😂😂
