My cat loves it but poor quality
My Maine Coon girl, Senua, will come running from upstairs if she hears this thing on (and she'll hear it from what feels like miles away).. she loves it so much, but unfortunately it only lasted for about a week before the mechanism stopped working. There are slightly more expensive versions out there that actually keep working even if you have a heavy cat playing with it, so not worth the money.

What a joy
My cat willow loves this. She can turn it on and off herself lol. The added butterflies are great so should last quite a while. Now she’s my most anxious cat so was surprised as out of them all I’d of thought she’d be most worried about the noise but no lol it’s hers lol.

Great fun but my kitten flattens the wire supporting the butterfly in minutes leaving it dragging on the floor. I tried to support the wire by wrapping a straw around it but it only helps a little.

Brilliant toy and cats loved it but after 10 minutes it stopped working. Checked batteries etc but it’s the actual mechanism that spins the butterfly has stopped

Unfortunately even though I put the batteries required, the mechanism doesn't work unless held at a jaunty angle. But, my cat doesn't seem to mind much. He loves the fact the butterfly gets knocked down and springs straight back up. Really seems to tire him out, which says a lot.

Great but timer function no longer included on toy
My cats love this. They are on their second one and it's good you can get spare butterflies now. They sit tapping it until you turn it on!
The original one turned off after 3 minutes but it looks like they have changed the toy as I have now tried 3 others and the timer function doesn't work an any of them, which makes me think they design has changed and there isn't a timer function anymore. Shame as it was a useful feature but doesn't stop my cats loving it.
Too quick
This really needs speed settings!! It spins round so quick I think it could even be a little dangerous... the butterfly doesn't 'flutter' at all it just whizzes around.

The idea of the item is great, but it spins so fast that it hits our cats in the eyes, it's to fast for them as such it is not safe for them to play with.
If there was a speed adjustment then this could be much better.

All 4 cats loved this at first, the first butterfly didn't last long (glad there are now replacements) 2 cats are now not interested anymore but our 2 kittens still love it, one of them likes to pick it up by the wire and bring it to me to turn on usually at 4am (not so good when it's dropped on your head)
Not for fussy cats...
I wanted to get something that my cat can play with by himself and I don't need to do much as he is 6 months old and he wants a lot attention and play all the time. This looked interesting with many positive reviews. However when I switch it on he watches the butterfly for a minute and then he walks away... If the butterfly is switched off he is not interested in at all so this one goes into cupboard with his other stuff that he doesn't like!

Nice toy, especially when it's switched on. The butterflies are quite delicate though. Once they've been bent, you can't straighten them again, and unfortunately that happens very quickly (after about 3 minutes), so the fun was over pretty fast.

Basically, a beloved toy for all our playful cats... But I ordered it in November and now the motor has already given up.
