switched on or off my cat loves this! I switch on now and then and she loves interacting with it but still goes over to it when it’s on the off mode a while - great toy to have. Comes with a couple extra butterflies inside but I purchased spares. Get some batteries in ready as they are not supplied with it. Ps you will have fun watching too! I supervise this play but can see anything sharp or loose after much play.

One of my cats absolutely loves this thing! My other does too, but only when it isnt turned on since shes a bit slow and cant track it while its on since it is a little speedier than imagined! The shiny butterflies hold their attention for ages!

Once you turn it on you have to wait for your cat to finish playing or keep checking back to turn it off. If you forget as I did, 3 new Energiser batteries were drained in under 2 hours

Unfortunately my cat didn't enjoy this toy as it spins around rapidly and too fast for my cat to interact with, doesn't flutter at all like a butterfly

Can’t recommend
My kitten hates it. Doesn’t matter if it’s on or off he’s not a fan. I’ve found it eats up batteries within minutes which is really annoying. I keep it out now but never turn it on hopefully one day he will like it but if you have a toddler they will 100% love it when it’s on it kept my toddler entertained until it died

Got this for my 3 month Maine Coon and he loves it. Will play with it switched on or off. The butterflies seem sturdy; but they also send additional butterflies in the pack! It’s fairly quiet too when moving.

I loved this. Well made. Clever design. Unfortunately my hugely predatory, dominant Tom cat, Oliver Twinkletoes was scared of this toy. It has a slight hum to it.

One out of two cats loves it
This has probably been the best toy I've bought for my older lady cat, she absolutely loves it, and it's fun watching her play with it, bonus you cam buy spate butterflies too, my only concern is the wire the butterfly is attached too, does have the potential to hurt inside of mouth so I'd recommend you watch carefully and don't allow your cat to bite into it, my other male cat played with it for like 5 minutes and got bored but he's like that with most toys. It's definitely worth the money.

Excellent for over-energetic kittens!
We have had a 8 month old kitten for a month or so, and she is so energetic we've struggled to keep up with her needs. She loves this and has actually tired herself out and taken herself off to bed which she never does when we're playing with a wand toy! It even caught the eye of our timid 14 year old cat who is not a big fan of the kitten, and this has actually brought some peace between them as her energy is directed at the toy and not him, and they can watch it together happily.

There are no insructions about assembling it , only a health and safety leaflet.

First time my cats have enjoyed something together. So pleased I bought extra butterflies but think I may need more batteries. They love it so much. It's like a swing all for cats watching them. Bought one for my daughter's cat too and just know he'll love it also.

How much energy do they expend chasing this butterfly. Excellent toy.
Although it's not played with daily, the first butterfly has lasted a couple of months, whereas I thought it would be "killed" within the hour.
Only criticism, is having the on/off button on the top, as it gets stepped on a lot.

Nice toy, especially when it's switched on. The butterflies are quite delicate though. Once they've been bent, you can't straighten them again, and unfortunately that happens very quickly (after about 3 minutes), so the fun was over pretty fast.
