It is an easy entry, but it's made out of wobbly, flimsy plastic and the bottom sinks unpredictably under my cat's weight, which spooks him. The bottom of the box is also very smooth and slippery, so his feet get buried in litter with every step, and his arthritic back legs start to slide out from under him when he squats. I wouldn't recommend it under any circumstances; you'd be better off buying a sturdy box and cutting the side down.
