My little boy kitty has had a few instance with this litter where the crystals get stuck onto the end of his penis and have to be pulled off, which hurts him. We have to check him every time he uses it. It's also really annoying to have to keep cleaning up the crystals as they get kicked out of the tray, and don't get caught in the tray mat when kitty gets out. The absorption is decent, but we always end up with urine pooling at the bottom of the tray, and it stinks.

Love this cat litter and so does my cat it's cheap and affordable and lasts ages. Will keep 're ordering. Keep providing the product please.

This litter was my first try with silicate litters for my two longhaired cats and it was not a success. The crystals got stuck in their fur, ending up around the flat. One of my cats started to get sneezing fits from this, had never had them before. It's very dusty. This is the main reason I stopped using the product, I was concerned it would end up in her lungs. Also, found that it didn't keep the smell away after a while, and didn't last as long as my usual Cat's Best Smart Pellets.

I used to use the stuff religiously and found it was exceptional at odour control and absorption however when I bought it a few months ago the smell and rate it absorbed urine was horrendous. I put it down to a bad batch and switched to the tigerino clumping clay which was amazing. The problem with the clay is that it tracks around the house and creates other issues and so recently tried the silica gel again but I found the same problems. It seems that tigerino have changed it for the worse

I've nearly always used Nature's Gold clumping litter for my 2 longhaired cats but thought I'd try this litter on special deal. I left one litter tray with Nature's Gold, and put this silica litter in the other one. I have the Modkat litter boxes so needed couple or three bags to fill up enough in the tray. At first only one of the cats would try it, after a day or two. Now she only uses this new litter and the other cat has also started preferring this. Keeps smells down, but is quite dusty.

I wanted to try an alternative to clumping as I was having issues with it sticking to the tray. The trial went well taking two weeks to cut over from clumping. However one of the cats has started urinating outside the box. 3 days after changing the crystals he starts urinating outside. We clean solids out every day and stir the crystals but the smell of urine is extremely strong and there is excessive pooling at the bottom of the tray. Does not last the 2 weeks stated for 2 cats.

The litter itself is a good standard silicate litter. I bought 2 trial bags (3.6l) to test out first. The only issue with the trial bag is it is meant for a small litter tray. It covered mine by 1cm so as soon as they use it, they've kicked the litter out the way and peed on the tray floor. You need at least the 5l bag to cover a standard sized tray and it last more than a couple of days. I've had to use both 3.6l bags in one go (costing more than if I bought one 5l bag!) so not cost effective.

very good litter, absorbs nicely and is easy to clean. lasts for long, doesn't create a lot of dust around. odour control might be improved. sometimes gets moved around on cat's paws...

We have 2 house cats and find the silica format works well from the point of view of absorbing the smell/urine and scooping out the other deposits.... this litter works just as well as any other that we've tried and is clearly a lot cheaper which ever way you look at it - per bag or per kilo... the litter usually needs changing every 6 days or so for the 2 cats...

I have 2 indoor Ragdoll cats and have been using this litter for over 4 years. It really is the best, so absorbent, no smells and so much cleaner to use than other litters - it also saves you money as you are not having to change it as often as other litters - I can not recommend enough!

Does track- as badly as clay, and still unpleasant to stand on in bare feet! Less dust than clay litter, and much preferred by our cats to the old stuff!

Was a little dubious about the claims of a month without a change for one cat at first, but my oh my you would never guess I had a "Lion in my living room" with this litter. It really does completely eliminate all odours unlike other litters that make these claims this one is true. The price is outstanding and I always get the promo deal with the food. If you want your house to smell like a house and not a litter tray then honestly this is the litter for you.

Not dust-free as claimed - actually quite a bit of silicate dust. Some crystals break down into teeny tiny pieces which get everywhere and ingested by cat cleaning paws. Even large crystals stick to cat's paws and track. Not very absorbent - a slick of broken down urine-wet crystals on the bottom of the tray. Makes my cat sneeze. After possible allergy to this causing skin itchiness, scabbing, overgrooming and subsequent vomiting of hair and stomach irritation; switched to Bio-Catolet.

I have 3 litter boxes, 3 cats and a 4 month kitten. I put a bag in each box fortnightly. I would be surprised if one bag would last any cat a month. I use 6 bags a month for 4 cats. That said, I love it. It's not dusty if you don't pour it in from a height. It tracks a little, but better than clay litter. None of my cats bury their poo in this, which doesn't help the smell after a poo but it soon goes. Definitely needs cleaning daily - scoop poo and mix WELL otherwise pee can pool at the bottom.

Having used Bob Martin silica litter and a supermarket one that I suspect was the same in own packaging I discovered Tigerino. It is just as good although I take the bag outdoors and sieve the dust out before putting it in the tray. I also tried Nullodour which was awful, very fine and only lasted a few days whereas Tigerino can last a fair while depending on how many cats and trays you have.

I have a creamy Persian cat. Throughout his 3 years with me I tried the following litters: - Applaws Nature's Calling: My favourite and best of all. Has a pleasant smell, traps odours well (but, have to admit, not so good as Cat's Best Oko Plus), clumps reliably and lasts long (I usually pour half of pack at once, so 2 packs of 6kg last for 1,5-2 months). It does track a bit though, but least of all the litters I've tried and sweeping/hoovering once or twice a week is enough. The only minus is that it colours my cat's creamy paws as it is dark brown. - Cat's Best Oko Plus: It traps odours very well, lasts for long (similar to Applaws) and has no issues with clumping. However, this is probably the worst tracking litter I had. I had to hoover/brush twice a day as little bits stick onto cat's paws and fur and is spread everywhere at home. I didn't even use all pack, switched back to Applaws. - Cat's Best Nature Gold: Tried once. The pellets are really large and this makes clumping not so effective. I bought it because it said that it does not stick to fur and is suitable for long haired cats. Well, those pellets did stick to my cat's fur and tracked a lot. Though it is environmentally friendly and eliminates smells for some time. But loose litter eventually becomes smelly and you have to change it. - Porta Pine Wood: Good cat litter, would rank it 2nd after Applaws. It smells fresh and is literally dust free, leaves no visible marks. It lasts long, great odour control, clumps well and my cat loved it. However, it tracks quite badly, but not as bad as Cat's Best Oko Plus. - Catsan Hygiene: Not good at all. Never bought again. Clumps stay wet for a long time making it difficult to remove from the box, and when they dry they glue to the box so that I had to scratch them off. Controls smell bad, tracks a bit and clumps of wet litter stick to the fur. It is dusty and caused runny eyes and sneezing to my Persian friend. - World's Best (Green and Red): Not good. Advised by vet after using Catsan Hygiene. It is dusty and didn't improve my cat's runny eyes much. It clumps very well, tracks a bit. Though it stinks horribly, probably because loose litter eventually starts smelling. Thus, no odour control. As such I do not remember it lasting long. - Tygerino Crystals Silicate: Used in an emergency when my order was late. Disliked bad smell. It also runs out quickly, one pack lasted for 3 days, tracks a bit.

I have been on the eternal search for a cat litter for my 2 Maine Coon boys who seem to be able to spread cat litter around the house with abandon. After reading reviews, I thought I'd give this a try and they absolutely hated it. The problem was that when they stood on it and tried to squat down to wee, it would continually move and in the end they would give up and use the Cats's best Nature Gold I had in the other trays. In the space of a week they used it twice and therefore it was a complete fail in my household. May be better suited to light cats and not large heffalumps!

This is the best silica cat litter I have found. It lasts much longer than the brands I have bought from supermarkets and pet stores and it is very good at combatting litter tray smells. You do need to rake the litter through each day to stop pooling.

A litter that is perfectly satisfying: no dust, no smell, easy to maintain and lasts a month. And on top of that, it's inexpensive. I have two indoor cats and therefore two litter boxes. I'm no longer bothered by the smell of urine or faeces, there's no more dust around the boxes, and by stirring regularly and removing the waste every other day, the litter lasts for 4 weeks.

I really wasn’t expecting the grains to be so big and "sharp". Of course, they don’t cut my cats’ paw pads, but I can see they walk on them very slowly. As for odour absorption, it’s not bad but not amazing either, especially when it comes to their faeces. Why? Because my cats don’t cover them up like they usually do. I imagine it’s because they don’t like handling such large grains. And the urine isn’t completely absorbed—that’s just not true.

When they dig to cover their needs or when I clean up with the scoop, a lot of dust gets kicked up, and many times the smell would linger on their fur for a few hours. For number two, the smell still hangs around the room, just a bit different—not necessarily better. Personally, I didn't like it.

Many comments say there’s no smell, but the opposite is true. After just a few days, it reeks strongly of urine, not to mention the faeces. It sticks to the cats’ paws and even to human skin, it gets all over the flat, and when you step on it, it crumbles. It’s also very noisy when the cats are digging in it.

For our two cats, it's really perfect—we change it every month with two trays and two cats who go outside a lot (in winter they go out much less, so it'll be more like every 3 weeks). It absorbs urine and dries out the poo if we're not around to remove it straight away!

It absorbs the smell and isn’t heavily perfumed, even the Lavender series. But my 2.5-month-old kitten regularly steps on its poop, then gets stressed and shakes its paw, making a mess all over the bathroom. I guess something about the noise or the shape/smell of the crystals stresses it out and it can’t do its business calmly. Maybe it’s better suited for adult cats.

Absorbs well and no smell, only the crystals are too big—my kitten plays with them and puts them in his mouth...

I’m really happy with these pellets, they last a long time and don’t smell. The packaging could be a bit bigger though.

Poor quality sand. It doesn’t absorb odours at all, you can’t walk past the litter box without holding your nose.

I bought this litter for my two furry friends for the first time. It looks great and is much lighter than my usual litter. BUT... the granules are way too big and some of them are really pointy and sharp-edged. I don’t blame my cats for not wanting to try it again after their first attempt. Luckily, I still had other toilets with regular litter. Even after 4 days, the new litter hadn’t been used. In the end, I threw it away.

None of my 4 cats accepted it – threw it out again after just 1 day. Biggest cat litter fail so far.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t clump and my cats won’t use it.

Really great to use, it really absorbs all the smells! Even visitors have mentioned it a few times because they're so surprised by it. Also very nice that it doesn't need to be changed as often, as long as you scoop it out properly every day. As someone who lives somewhere where the bin is a bit of a walk and has less energy due to illness, that's honestly brilliant! The litter is quite hard though!

No particular scent, I only notice smells towards the end of the cycle – 10 days for 2 litter trays at once, and 2 cats. Convenient and not (too) dusty.
