Have been beginning to think this litter isn't lasting as long. Then I saw a review by someone on here saying that if you buy the individual bags they perform like the original, but if you buy the value packs of 6 they are finer, not as many blue crystals and don't last as long. Surprise surprise they were right. I ordered the former and the latter and did an experiment. the individual bag looked as it used to and it did last at least a week in a good state rather than 3 to 4 days.

I have been using this product for years, both XXL and the standard one and always been very happy. However, in the past year I have noticed a dramatic change in quality: it does not absorb the pee and the odour is really bad. Unfortunately I am now going to have to change product. Shame.

My little boy kitty has had a few instance with this litter where the crystals get stuck onto the end of his penis and have to be pulled off, which hurts him. We have to check him every time he uses it. It's also really annoying to have to keep cleaning up the crystals as they get kicked out of the tray, and don't get caught in the tray mat when kitty gets out. The absorption is decent, but we always end up with urine pooling at the bottom of the tray, and it stinks.

This litter was my first try with silicate litters for my two longhaired cats and it was not a success. The crystals got stuck in their fur, ending up around the flat. One of my cats started to get sneezing fits from this, had never had them before. It's very dusty. This is the main reason I stopped using the product, I was concerned it would end up in her lungs. Also, found that it didn't keep the smell away after a while, and didn't last as long as my usual Cat's Best Smart Pellets.

I bought about 5 bags of these crystals so have used them quite a lot. Unfortunately I have to agree with a previous reviewer. At an absolute stretch, this may last 10 days in a 2 cat indoor household. But more realistically 7 days. And I even used thick layers of newspapers underneath to help absorb excess liquid (which I regularly removed). However tracking is minimal which is good. Though initially it absorbs the smell well in the first few days, it soon starts to reek of ammonia. I have since switched to "the best cat litter in the world" which is far supreme in every way.

On opening this cat litter it looks lovely with really clean almost big sugar like crystals. Worked great the first day,I have three cats and am very fussy about my tray's being clean it honestly did not stand up to cats best litter.The cats urine just drenched the tray and it was impossible to clean would not absorb enough! and left pools of urine which I could not soak up, am very disapointed as I thought I would love this litter.Sorry its a thumbs down from a multi cat house.

I used to be happy with this cat litter, but with a recent order, I noticed the packaging colour was different. Same product name, same packaging elements, but the contents are no longer the same. The granules are huge and look like bits of glass—very disappointing and especially painful if you accidentally step on them. They also seem to end up outside the tray more often now.

I really wasn’t expecting the grains to be so big and "sharp". They don’t cut my cats’ paws of course, but I can see they walk on them very slowly. As for odour absorption, it’s not bad but not amazing either, especially when it comes to their poo. Why? Because my cats don’t cover it up like they usually do. I guess it’s because they don’t like handling such big grains. And the urine isn’t fully absorbed, that’s just not true.

When they dig to cover their needs or when I clean up with the scoop, a lot of dust gets kicked up, and many times the smell would linger on their fur for a few hours. For number two, the smell still hangs around the room, just a bit different—not necessarily better. Personally, I didn't like it.

I've been using it for years, many years. I think it used to cost 33 cents per litre. And it worked great: it lasted the full 3 weeks as described (with just one cat) and 10/12 days with two. Then the price started to go up and, over time, its performance and effectiveness went down. Now – with three cats and two litter boxes, only one of which uses this litter – after three days they go elsewhere, and even when freshly changed, they hesitate. It's not the same anymore: the grain size has changed too and I find it everywhere.

We used it for a long time because it absorbs really well and honestly needs less attention than clumping cat litter, but it’s very dusty. Whenever we put in fresh litter, the cat would regularly choke…

The sand is poor quality. It doesn't absorb odours at all, you can't walk past the litter box without holding your nose.

I bought this litter for my two furry friends for the first time. It looks great and is much lighter than my usual litter. BUT... the grains are way too big and some of them are really pointy and sharp-edged. I can’t blame my cats for not wanting to use it again after just one try. Luckily, I still had other trays with regular litter. Even after 4 days, this litter still hadn’t been used. In the end, I just threw it out.

The clumps of litter fall apart when you try to clean the tray, so some dirty bits always end up mixing back in with the clean litter. Plus, I keep finding huge silicon crystals all over the house.

I bought the proper 6-pack set and now I’m suffering from the smell every day, as it just doesn’t cover it no matter what. Usually the talc-scented ones from Tigerino are better, but this lavender one was honestly useless. I have to change the litter for two cats twice a week just to keep the smell from getting too bad.

This litter used to be great a few years ago. Since then, I’ve started to doubt the 3L stated on the packaging (I haven’t changed my container, yet the litter doesn’t seem as full—listing the volume in litres instead of kilos is a sneaky way to quietly reduce the amount, isn’t it?). But even worse, this litter is getting dustier and dustier, to the point where my cat has had allergic reactions. Honestly, I wish Zooplus would offer more brands of different silica litters!
