Once you try Silica you wont go back.
Moved to silica when our first cat was 1yo, never looked back. Lasts ages (less so with male cats who wee lots but still longer than clay/wood counterparts) has little to no smell (dries then poops right out) and it a dream when it is time to change out. The only tiny downside is you have to stir it daily so the wee is absorbed by all the crystals and doesn't pool and its a small price to pay for your abode to not smell like cat litter. Ive also tried multiple brands and Tigerino is our fave.

My cat did not like this litter
This is my first time using silicate litter and my cat was not impressed - I've switched back to the clumping kind as my kittie was using his box noticeably less when I switched to silicate.
In terms of the litter itself, I found it to drag a lot and kept finding much more of it around the house compared to the clumping kind. I also don't really see much of a benefit in terms of cleaning with the silicate; it just seems to get dirtier much quicker.

Quality changed - Explanation?
Have been beginning to think this litter isn't lasting as long. Then I saw a review by someone on here saying that if you buy the individual bags they perform like the original, but if you buy the value packs of 6 they are finer, not as many blue crystals and don't last as long. Surprise surprise they were right. I ordered the former and the latter and did an experiment. the individual bag looked as it used to and it did last at least a week in a good state rather than 3 to 4 days.

my cat loves this she’s been quite picky with her litter she only liked clay which is so dusty and she hated the wood pellets wouldn’t use her tray so even tho this is a bit pricey it lasts a lot longer, these bags will last a good 2 - 3 months

Changed for the worse
It used to be the best litter available out there, I've tried so many! In the past few months, it changed completely, now the granules are bigger and go yellow, lasting only a couple of days, and don't cover the smell at all! On top of that, it became so much more expensive. Unfortunately, it's really not worth it anymore

Good
This is a good non-clumping litter which absorbs urine. I have two cats and find it needs completely changing after a week due to the urine and it gets a bit gross. Some of the scents are slightly sickly sweet but cover the smell fairly effectively, I prefer the unscented or the aloe. If you like a perfectly clean litter tray after scooping I would say this may not be the one. I also find it does kick up some dust when mixing and pouring out. Overall not bad.

The Worst Ever!
This is literally the worst cat litter ever made! How it got through design and testing at Tigerino I have no idea. It'd be more useful as something to cover up your garden flower beds than trapping cat toilet activities. Avoid if you can and go for the clumping gravel type litter. I'm never buying this again
Why is it now so expensive ?
Been using this years , but just can’t afford the £10 plus price rise of late.

Quality changed
Been using this for at least 5 years. Sometime in the last 6 - 12 months it has changed. Doesn't soak up and mask the smell any more. Now lasts the same time as cheaper litter making it a very expensive option. BUY CATSAN HYGIENE PLUS. Its far cheaper and does a better job.
why is it suddenly SO expensive?!
the price is normaly good, but now - it is SO expensive, and the Bitiba silica wich is cheaper, is very bad. it don't prevent any smell from urine. I think it is because the bags is smaller.

I've used this cat litter for years and years, and it's always been a brilliant product at great value. Unfortunately recently it's completely changed, and now the granules are much finer and go yellow and foul smelling after a few days. I'm now having to change it so often that it now works out cheaper to switch to a better quality product, though I'll still be paying more. Really disappointed!

Lasted 3 days with 1 cat
I usually love silica cat litters so i thought i would give this a try due to good reviews. The gel crystals looked fine but within 1 day half had turned yellow, after 3 days the smell is so strong i have had to bleach the litter tray and my cat wouldn't use it.
I was removing solid waste twice per day and stirring the litter twice per day so it had every chance to work.
By far the worst cat litter i have ever used and will not be purchasing again

Best cat litter!
This is by far the best cat litter I've bought (and I've tried alot of them for my two furbabies)
Cat trays can get smelly quickly but with this stuff contains any smells really well. The colours are nice for us humans to look at too!

Fantastic
I have many cats they all use the same litter the crystals are a little sharp but no injuries it keeps the wee smell in a poo I get rid of when they do one as some of my cats don't bury them it smells if not taken out
Stick to the one pack even if it’s more expensive
I’ve had two experiences with this product. The first time I ordered the one pack, which was great and the crystals were fine. The second time I ordered the value pack. However, it couldn’t be any different!!! The Crystals, in the value pack, were too small and fine and more of a powder than crystals. Even the colour of the blue crystals in it were different. It’s more like silica sand, not crystal. Stick to the single pack even if it’s more expensive.

Not a success
I have used wood pellets for my three cats for a long time. A couple of months ago I bought 6 bags of this to try. It is nice and light. A plus for me because I am disabled. My 20 year cat liked it but my 2 5 years olds did not . It only lasted a week before I had completely change the litter. The urine all pooled at the bottom of the tray. Horrible to clean out . I will not buy again

i tried a trial pack of this litter but found that the urine went through to the tray and made it very difficult to clean went back to Catsan

Great litter, no smell
I love this litter, and so do my cats. It absorbs smells brilliantly, and is easy to use. With 2 indoor cats I use one bag in a large litter tray and need to change it completely every 8 days, and of course remove solids daily. (The packaging optimistically says one bag should last 3 weeks with 2 cats. I have no idea how, unless my cats pee twice as much as normal cats!) It's not the cheapest litter on the market, but I will keep buying it.

What happened?
I have been using this product for years, both XXL and the standard one and always been very happy.
However, in the past year I have noticed a dramatic change in quality: it does not absorb the pee and the odour is really bad. Unfortunately I am now going to have to change product. Shame.

Really rubbish
First of all, the litter looks nothing like the videos and photos—the grains are big and really hurt. For such a high price, I find this unacceptable, honestly! Even my own hand hurt, it's just too much. I'm going to complain to Zooplus because this feels like a scam.

Urgent alternative needed
I find the 40% price increase for this litter in just 9 months outrageous. Especially considering the quality and performance have become worse and more inconsistent. With my order in mid-November 2025 (which was delivered at the end of the month), the set of 6 packs cost €27.99, now 6 bags cost €38.99. Absolutely disgusting.

Tried it but going back to kibble
Besides the fact that my entire order was covered in Crystals. It’s more expensive, but less heavy and spreads less around the house. The scent only works for urine and outside the litter box; inside, it just smells bad. And you notice the smell of faeces much more than with pellets. Removing the yellow crystals is almost impossible, so the smell stays. With pellets, it’s easier to keep the box clean. If they were really much cheaper, I’d consider it, but with my three cats, it doesn’t add any value for me, especially since I have to pay more for it.

New formula?
I used to be happy with this cat litter, but with a recent order, I noticed the packaging colour was different. Same product name, same packaging elements, but the contents are no longer the same. The granules are huge and look like bits of glass—very disappointing and especially painful if you accidentally step on them. They also seem to end up outside the tray more often now.

Top-notch litter
A litter that is perfectly satisfying: no dust, no smell, easy to maintain and lasts a month. And on top of that, it's inexpensive.
I have two indoor cats and therefore two litter boxes. I'm no longer bothered by the smell of urine or faeces, there's no more dust around the boxes, and by stirring regularly and removing the waste every other day, the litter lasts for 4 weeks.

They're fine
I've tried lots of different litters and I really like this one. It's true that with 4 cats, after 5-6 days it does start to smell like pee even though there are still white granules left, but overall it holds up pretty well. It doesn't create dust and all my cats use it without any issues. The smells are quite mild, it doesn't bother them.

Very disappointed. I will never buy it again.
I really wasn’t expecting the grains to be so big and "sharp". Of course, they don’t cut my cats’ paw pads, but I can see they walk on them very slowly. As for odour absorption, it’s not bad but not amazing either, especially when it comes to their faeces. Why? Because my cats don’t cover them up like they usually do. Too much dust
When they dig to cover their needs or when I clean up with the scoop, a lot of dust gets kicked up, and many times the smell would linger on their fur for a few hours. For number two, the smell still hangs around the room, just a bit different—not necessarily better. Personally, I didn't like it.

Many comments say there’s no smell, but the opposite is true. After just a few days, it reeks strongly of urine, not to mention the faeces. Perfect

Getting worse and worse
I've been using it for years, many years. I think it used to cost 33 cents per litre. And it worked great: it lasted the full 3 weeks as described (with just one cat) and 10/12 days with two. Then the price started to go up and, over time, its performance and effectiveness went down. Now – with three cats and two litter boxes, only one of which uses this litter – after three days they go elsewhere, and even when freshly changed, they hesitate. It's not the same anymore: the grain size has changed too and I find it everywhere.
