Excellent product
This is an excellent product at a very good price - I find there is no smell when my cat has used it, I only know to remove droppings when I look into her litter tray. I really don’t understand the bad reviews!

Oh Dear ! !
After buying a small packet of this at the shops for my 2 Mature Cats i, I was so pleased with it because of how long it lasted nearly a week and it's smell control was wonderful. So I decided to order the larger sizes here .What an absolute disappointment this was ,absolutely horrendous , Didn't last at all changing every 2 days but it was the appalling smell permeating all over the place that just couldn't stand .So will be ordering litter number 3 now so here's hoping !

Absolutely stinks!
We read the other reviews about Catsan smelling but made the mistake if trying it anyway. We were so wrong and wish we stuck with Cats Best. The smell is absolutely awful and lingers throughout the house. The fact we have 2 healthy cats who eat good quality food and have their litter cleaned regularly didn't make a difference, it still smelt awful. It may be OK if your cat only uses the litter tray once in a blue moon but definitely not for regular use!
Having realised how awful this is has made us realise how great Cats Best is.

No good
Not happy with this at all. So glad to have finished it. It smells and trails badly.

It kinda does the job but it reeks!
Terrible smell starts right after my cat first use it and then it stinks to high heaven, making my whole (big) flat smell like sewage. Cat (one) is healthy /been tested by vet, is being fed with heathy, good quality food/ and I scoop his 💩 immediately. Also I use antibacterial deo powder.
Still though, stench is not bearable!
I think cheap, antibacterial litter from Tesco did much better job, though if anyone knows cat litter that locks the odour for at least three days then, please, let me know!
Thx!

Always use
We always use Catsan for an XXXL litter box and rarely have any problems. Urine gets soaked up and no real smell. Been using it for years and will continue to do so.

Buying this was a big mistake
I'm in total agreement with all the other reviews on here that say this stuff stinks. I bought it because the manufacturer claims that it's hygienic and absorbs smells. I hated it from the start. It left my house reeking and I felt embarrassed about people coming round. I'm so relieved it's now all gone and I can replace it with my usual order.

Good product best price
I've tried a lot of different litters for my 3 cats and this is the best one, it absorbs the smell very well and it is a great price on here

Love or hate it
There is no smell! Best cat litter I've tried.
If your one is smelling I can only assume you are not cleaning the litter tray often enough and your cat has a bowel problem.

No smell
This has changed my life. There is no smell in my home at all. It lasts longer than the silicate I was using. Just fantastic.

We thought it would be good
I heard loads of positive reviews, so we decided to purchased 2 bags, for our two cats, it was terrible, it did not hide any odour we could not wait to finish it, we now use wood chips which is much better and cheaper

Its great and your cats may prefer it!
I'm a professional cat sitter so deal with hundreds of different cats and their cat litters every year.
I have to say that my two cats (moggies, both male and 8 years old) prefer this as its solid under their feet and doesn't move around, in fact they wont use any other litter.
Yes if multiple cats are using one tray (not recommended) then it will have to be changed often. Maybe twice a week or every other day depending on how many cats and how many trays used.

My Ragdoll cats love it.
Great product! This is the best. Not the cheapest but easy to use and easy to clean. I've five Ragdoll cats and sometimes many kittens but CATSAN does the job well. No bad smell. I scoope twice a day, change litter and clean the whole litter boxes once a week. Easy-peasy!

Not for multiple cat household
Freshly changed litter in the morning smells horrendously after me coming back from work. Whole flat was just soaked in cats pee smell. Needs to be changed after one use and with four cats I think it is the most expensive litter I used due to the amount I needed to use up during the month to not have my home permanently smelling like hoarders house.

The best litter out there - no dust & odour free!
I find this has the least dust/ clay & does not stick to my cats paws. It's easy to remove stools daily, then I change the lot after a week. Depends how much your cat wees. The odd grain gets caught in his paws & I find the odd bit around the house but it's impossible not to, I find this happens with every litter I've tried. I have to say I am a bit shocked at the comments by Jolly saying 2x6kg packs last her 1.5 - 2 months!! I can only imagine that's why she has clumping problems!

Review of all used litters
I have a creamy Persian cat. Throughout his 3 years with me I tried the following litters:
- Applaws Nature's Calling: My favourite and best of all. Has a pleasant smell, traps odours well (but, have to admit, not so good as Cat's Best Oko Plus), clumps reliably and lasts long (I usually pour half of pack at once, so 2 packs of 6kg last for 1,5-2 months). It does track a bit though, but least of all the litters I've tried and sweeping/hoovering once or twice a week is enough. The only minus is that it colours my cat's creamy paws as it is dark brown.
- Cat's Best Oko Plus: It traps odours very well, lasts for long (similar to Applaws) and has no issues with clumping. However, this is probably the worst tracking litter I had. I had to hoover/brush twice a day as little bits stick onto cat's paws and fur and is spread everywhere at home. I didn't even use all pack, switched back to Applaws.
- Cat's Best Nature Gold: Tried once. The pellets are really large and this makes clumping not so effective. I bought it because it said that it does not stick to fur and is suitable for long haired cats. Well, those pellets did stick to my cat's fur and tracked a lot. Though it is environmentally friendly and eliminates smells for some time. But loose litter eventually becomes smelly and you have to change it.
- Porta Pine Wood: Good cat litter, would rank it 2nd after Applaws. It smells fresh and is literally dust free, leaves no visible marks. It lasts long, great odour control, clumps well and my cat loved it. However, it tracks quite badly, but not as bad as Cat's Best Oko Plus.
- Catsan Hygiene: Not good at all. Never bought again. Clumps stay wet for a long time making it difficult to remove from the box, and when they dry they glue to the box so that I had to scratch them off. Controls smell bad, tracks a bit and clumps of wet litter stick to the fur. It is dusty and caused runny eyes and sneezing to my Persian friend.
- World's Best (Green and Red): Not good. Advised by vet after using Catsan Hygiene. It is dusty and didn't improve my cat's runny eyes much. It clumps very well, tracks a bit. Though it stinks horribly, probably because loose litter eventually starts smelling. Thus, no odour control. As such I do not remember it lasting long.
- Tygerino Crystals Silicate: Used in an emergency when my order was late. Disliked bad smell. It also runs out quickly, one pack lasted for 3 days, tracks a bit.

THE BEST EVER CAT LITTER!
I have 5 indoor cats and have been doing cat rescue and showing for over 30 years so have cleaned A LOT of litter trays in my time! I have tried every brand of cat litter including clumping/ clay/ worlds best/ wood/paper pellets/ budget and top of the line. I always come back to catsan. I've found It's the best for odour management and it HIGHLY absorbent so there is no urine smell at all. I scoop the tray of solids as required and completely empty and disinfect the tray every day, even with one cat if ANY tray was left longer than a couple of days harmful bacteria will build up and be walked around your home or ingested by your cat/s and of course the stale urine will start to smell!! It's best to use less litter in the tray and thoroughly clean the tray more often, than to put a couple of inches in and leave the germs to build up over a few days. It doesn't clump which I prefer so it doesn't stick to the litter tray or scoop instead the urine is absorbed and trapped inside the grains rather than sticking the grains together. It tracks very slightly but I've yet to find a litter that doesn't! Considering I've got 5 indoor cats I have guests coming into the house who comment on the fact that there is absolutely no cat odour at all. It's not the cheapest but it's excellent value for money. I would highly recommend. 😀
