I have three male rats, and my Max always used to sneeze when I used regular wood shavings. Now I only use one-third wood shavings for absorption and the M-grade beech wood shavings. Max hardly sneezes anymore, and if he does, it’s usually when he buries his nose in fresh hay. Right from the start, I ordered the 15-litre bag and need almost a full popcorn bucket for a base area of 60 x 60 cm once a week. The smell from my boys is kept to a minimum – also because I wipe down the boards with a damp cloth every day.

Both sizes are very good. I mix one bag each for my aviary. I will continue to buy the beech wood chips.

I am satisfied with the beechwood shavings, currently using them for my laying quails. I will also use them for budgies. No dust, no unpleasant smell.

Got the extra XXL wood chips for our aviary. It didn’t take long at all before the two of them were down on the wood shavings, nibbling on them or tossing them around. Nothing actually got thrown out though ;3 By now, it seems to have become a daily game—wandering around down there, picking up bits of wood, chewing them, and dropping them again. One small tip for other bird owners: In addition to the usual food and water, we also offer a bowl of sand. Birds need sand or bird grit to help with digestion, so you shouldn’t skip it entirely. PS: It really does look lovely ;3 Much better than the old sand, and the dirt stays together much better too.

I use this for the bottom of my bird avairy, it is a lot less dusty like most other products as well as the extremely fast shipment all round all my experiences with zooplus have been fantastic

It's a bit too hard for toilets, but it's absolutely perfect as bedding or for digging boxes. Even in large quantities, it doesn't produce any dust, is great for chewing, and only starts to smell slightly after six days (hello = used by five rabbits)!

I’ve been using the medium size for my budgie aviary for several years now, and I’m very satisfied. It’s cheap, dust-free, smells good, easy to replace and dispose of – simply perfect. Just don’t forget to still offer your birds bird sand and grit. I’m thrilled with the delivery – ordered on Wednesday, received on Friday – and that’s to Austria via DPD. It couldn’t be better, thank you zooplus!

We spent a long time looking for bedding that was as dust-free as possible and eventually came across hemp bedding, which led us to the beech wood shavings (in XXL granulation). By far the best bedding – if anything gets thrown out of the cage, it’s quickly vacuumed up. It also doesn’t seem to be too hard, as our little ones sometimes jump down onto it from a height of 20 cm. Of course, it’s not suitable for digging, so you’ll need additional bedding for degus.

I've been using this bedding for my 4 budgies for a long time. It's much lighter than sand, which is a big advantage for a large aviary. It doesn't create any dust at all and looks really nice. My 4 love it and enjoy playing with it a lot.

The bedding is great. High quality, pleasant smell, and almost dust-free. Unfortunately, it's not available in the S-grain size, making it unsuitable for delicate small rodent feet.

I would like to thank you for the beech wood chips that my three budgies absolutely love. This product is so much better than regular bird sand. I've already ordered it at least three times now, and it lasts a very long time. My birds adore it and sometimes even roll around in it. Many thanks, and keep up the great work with your products!

I'm absolutely thrilled with the wood shavings, and so are my two African grey parrots :-) Especially because they also have something extra to nibble on... And the price-performance ratio is spot on too.

I ordered Chipsi Extra beechwood shavings in medium for my little hamster. I mix them with hay, hemp, wood bedding, and maize granules. The hamster loves it, and so do I! Highly recommended!

My parrots love this bedding – it's clean and smells good.

I use this bedding for my parrots and I’m really happy with it. It clumps similarly to cat litter, so you can just remove the dirty parts and basically only need to replace the entire bedding every 3-4 weeks. Plus, the parrots pick out individual wood pieces and chew on them, which also keeps them nicely entertained.

I’ve been using the medium grit for our Gouldian finches for 2 years now and have been very satisfied with it so far. It doesn’t create dust, looks good, and is easy to clean.

I switched to BHG because our budgie hen had an allergic reaction to bird sand (sneezing and frantic breathing). Now with the BHG, everything is fine again, and our budgies are really digging around in it. So, top-notch :-)

I use the medium and small beech wood chips as bedding for my hamster's digging box. They absolutely love it! It's also fantastic as toilet bedding since it absorbs all liquids!
