Product description

Cold-pressed dry food for dogs, with tender French beef and fresh trout combined with wholegrain rice and fruits. Same top quality, now with an improved recipe!

Lukullus Cold-Pressed Beef with Trout is gently cold-pressed, made with selected ingredients. This preserves the original flavour and valuable nutrients in a natural way. Because nature provides everything your dog needs.

The lovingly-created recipe of Lukullus Cold-Pressed Beef with Trout treats your gourmet-loving dog to a range of exceptional ingredients:

The tender beef is known for its tenderness and juicy flavour. Trout is particularly easy to digest and provides valuable proteins and omega-3 fatty acids. In combination with valuable rice and fruits such as apple, Lukullus Cold-Pressed Beef with Trout provides your dog with an optimum supply of essential vitamins and minerals. Rounded off with high-quality rapeseed oil, Lukullus supports a shiny coat and supple skin.

Lukullus Cold-Pressed Beef with Trout at a glance:

  • In harmony with nature: natural recipe with carefully selected ingredients for your gourmet-loving dog
  • Original flavour and natural nutrient content, thanks to the gentle cold-pressing process
  • High-quality proteins from specially selected animal sources: beef and trout
  • Hemp seeds and hemp oils: naturally rich in omega-3 and omega-6
  • Algae provides valuable micronutrients and is an excellent source of iodine
  • For all breeds and sizes: complete food for adult dogs
  • Tooth-friendly: special kibble shape supports natural tooth cleaning

Cold-pressing - what is it?
Unlike conventional production processes, cold-pressing does not require higher temperatures or higher pressure. This means that the beneficial nutrients in the ingredients are largely retained and can be optimally utilised by your dog.

Lukullus trusts the power of nature.

favourite dog food

I've three dogs, over the years we've tried many, many, many dog food brands. my oldest dog has intolerances and is very fussy, my middle dog isn't fussy but is prone to awful wind, my youngest is a rescue who came to us horrifically underweight and not tolerating most foods well. This has been the only dog food ever, that has worked amazingly for all three of my dogs. this brand is both highly rated on AADF whilst also being actually affordable, so glad i found this feed

They changed recipe:(

We were feeding our dogs Lukullus for years. We stayed with the brand even when they changed to smaller bags but kept the price of the larger bag. But they changed something in the recipe (even colour of the pellets is different) and now one of our dogs is scratching like crazy, so we will be saying goodbye to the brand.

why corn ? corn is for chicken

I used to buy this product before corn was added to the recipe. My dog farts when fed corn - because he is not a chicken - therefore I switched to another brand, also "coldpressed" but with better ingredients.

Never Again

Gave dog chronic flatulence and an allergic reaction, he became quite unwell while on this food, had to consult a vet and dog was given strong steroid meds to help with the allergic reaction

Not for my lab

Our lab has a really strong stomach, and I wanted to try an own brand product from zooplus. She eats it (of course she’s a lab!) but drinks huge quantities after (even though we give it mixed with water) and poos most of it out again. Not easily digestible this stuff and we slowly transferred her to this food over a few weeks. Now left with a 10kg bag - Definitely going back to Burns she’s much happier on it.

10kg: poorer ingredients same label

the new 10kg package, with the same label as the 1.5 and 15 kg product, has in fact different ingredients: less meat and now 15% corn; deceiving practice, to be referred to consumer protection agencies

Couldn't be happier!

My almost 9 year old Boxer LOVES this food! He can be a bit fussy with his kibble, but he licks the bowl clean after finishing this one! He is like a different dog now, has plenty of go in him, he's almost like a puppy again! His coat is lovely, soft and shiny, and doesn't moult as much either! He has arthritis and struggled to walk far before but he doesn't seem to limp half as much now. He had no issues with his sensitive tummy, the switch was straight forward and easy. I would recommend!

Excellent food

4 out of my 5 dogs have been having this food for the last year ( working Spaniels and a Brittany). My working Cocker can’t eat chicken at all without getting diarrhoea. So this is perfect as there is absolutely no chicken content. They have all thrived on it and maintained perfect weight. They haven’t had the thirst others seem to have experienced and took to it straight away. Cold pressed definitely beats kibble for keeping them in good condition and giving a glossy coat.

Excellent Food

I have been using this food on my Belgian Shephard X Border Collie for nearly 2 years now and it is absolutely perfect. He is sensitive to poultry. Even a slightest poultry gives him dihaerrae. Most foods even Beef based ones might include some poultry in it sometimes but the beef and fish version of this food has no poultry at all. He has been very stable with his weight and his coat shines. Every vet he has been to said keep whatever I have been giving to him.

Patience is a virtue!

Super happy with the move from kibble to cold pressed food of this quality. On the initial change over some of my dogs were gagging and thirsty (as per some negative reviews) but I bared with it, soaked the food more until this stopped which it did for all but one dog. She only weight 12kg so I think maybe the food is too big for her even though she ate it every meal. I have considered breaking her bits up and retrying her. The other 5 dogs are looking great, all have waistline, great stools.

thirsty

I tried this while looking for a cheaper alternative to lilys kitchen for my GSD X Malamute, he enjoyed it but it gave him a RAGING THIRST, we had serveral accidents overnight after not having one for 4 3/4 years...it seems he is not alone, great shame.

Excellent food

I alternate between this and Markus Muelle for my dry food, I'll only feed cold pressed and raw. This provides a change of flavour and the shape of the nuggets makes it good for treats too. I have a working dog who has been fed this diet for 5 years now and is very fit and healthy as a result.

Good stuff 🐾🐾🐾🐾👍

Over the past year I've been giving this and Markus M to our German shepherds mixed in with some dry grain free kibble for a balance and some days they have it on its own and we have perfect whoopsies and clean bowls.ours also have some meaty toppers added in the grain free forthglade and this added to the pellet isn't essential its just that our boy needs to gain a few kilos and our girl cannot be left out so they both enjoy their meal times and our zooplus orders always arrives in good time and condition. I'm pleased with the qualities of our dog food from Germany its got very good ethics too so I would highly recommend . 👍🐶🐶🐾🐾🐾🐾

Changed my dog's life

My Rhodesian Ridgeback suffered terribly with a poor digestive system for a couple of years, during which many Vet visits were necessary in order to determine the cause and cure. We tried all manner of diets and all manner of digestion drugs but nothing helped. The poor lad continued having very regular bouts of diarrhoea, lying down all day feeling weary, and vomiting in every room in the house. Then we thought we would try grain-free kibble, and Lukullus Charolais Beef & Trout looked tempting, even to us! I could not believe the result .. instantly Max transformed into a normal, bouncy, happy dog. It was like switching on a light. Since he started the grain-free meals he has not needed any vet visits (apart from the annual MOT/boosters of course) and the vet says that he is in remarkably good health. I must also mention that Max absolutely loves the food, as does every dog we meet and treat.

Excellent quality

I researched dry food options and liked the idea of cold pressed foods. Choices are limited and I use both this and Markus Mueller too for a bit of variety. Lukullus is less crumbly than the MM, the ingredients are similar. My dog works hard ans looks great on his diet. The only downside is the quantity you feed always looks like a really meagre offering but just goes to show the quality isn't bulked out with rubbish.

First time

2 Labradors. Both had upset stomachs, loose vowel movements one very hyperactive and the other raging thirst. 10kg left but wouldn't give it to another dog owner. Usual dog food eukanuba but have used royal canin and James wellbeloved. Problems ceased when fed eukanuba again.

My lanky doodle really fell on his four feet with this stuff

Thank goodness I did a bit of homework (at the brilliant allaboutdogfood.co.uk web site) when Archibald got terminally bored with the Burns he'd been reared on.

This Lukullis is everything the more positive and informative reviews say it is.

For starters you only have to see and smell the stuff to know it's good. One of the key factors to this is the fact that there's no grain in it and it's very low in carbo-hydrates, which I believe dogs have difficulty assimilating. And I imagine that as the food is cold-pressed rather than cooked into submission, this can only be good.

Being big and lanky and a bit ungainly in his gait, Archibald's normal lope wasn't all it could be, on a diet of overpriced and overrated product, which really fell short nutrition-wise. But a few weeks in with Lukullis and he has a real bounce and glide to his step now.

His poos are utter text book now, and his waist is really tapering well, without any weight loss. All of which amounts to persuasive evidence of the quality of this stuff.

It is clear to me that Lukullis is responsible for a big uplift in Archie's health and mood lately. No bloat, no excessive waste, full throttle appetite back again, more calm and level headed despite better energy levels (he gets a lot of exercise).... and demonstrative in his appreciation for the stuff.

Quote me on this: you will end up with a happier, healthier dog if you give them Lukullis.

I am looking forward to trying out the new Barbary Duck and Lamb variety on Archie next, having indulged him with the Charolais Beef & Trout variety.

Happy punter, happy dood.

Five Star dining for dogs

Lukullus Charolais Beef & Trout has got to be 5* Hotel dining for our dogs. My Rideback loves it above all others, and the dogs in the village are all glad to take a treat off me. My dog suffered from a digestion problem which has taken a couple of years of varying diets to sort out. Happily, since trying grain-free, his problems have disappeared.

Lukullus Charolais Beef & Trout

My dogs love this food and look really well on it. I have studied canine nutrition and know that the ingredients in this food are really good for your dog. The price is also extremely good value for money. I highly recommend this food to my clients.

Great food

Our Border collie is a fussy eater, and having tried her on numerous dry dog foods, (Arden Grange, JWB, CSJ etc.) I decided to try this one, based on the nutritional values. We are now on our second 15 kilos with her and she so far shows no sign of going off this food. It's actually more of a problem to make sure she doesn't eat too much. I have also noticed that, since being on this food, she has started to chunk out, something she was struggling to do on other foods.
