James Wellbeloved Adult Dog Hypoallergenic Duck & Rice is a complete dry dog food made with lean, easy to digest duck, a novel source of animal protein. It also contains organic oats which are a great source of fibre. The tasty kibble is enriched with beneficial seaweed, alfalfa and chicory extract which is a prebiotic that encourages good gut bacteria. Yucca extract can help to reduce stool odour.
This natural dry dog food is suitable for dogs with sensitive digestive systems or food intolerances or because James Wellbeloved dry dog food is free from many of the ingredients which can cause food reactions. It is hypo-allergenic, made without soya, beef, pork, wheat gluten, or wheat and free from eggs, dairy products, and any artificial colours and preservatives.
James Wellbeloved Adult Dog Hypoallergenic Duck & Rice is a balanced dog food made with wholesome, specially selected, natural ingredients which provide your pet with nutritional goodness:
- Duck: A novel, easy to digest source of high quality meat protein.
- Rice and barley: A source of digestible carbohydrates and dietary fibre which is gentle on the stomach
- Whole linseed: Rich in omega fatty acids which help to keep your pet's coat soft and glossy
- Alfalfa: A good source of natural beta-carotene antioxidant, it also provides essential trace minerals
- Omega oils: A blend of omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids promote a healthy, glossy coat
- Natural seaweed: Rich in iodine and valuable trace elements, it also contains natural gums which can help aid the digestive process
- Chicory Extract Rich in inulin which helps to maintain healthy gut flora
- Yucca Extract: Reduces stool odour

If mixing James Wellbeloved dry and wet food, reduce the recommended amount of dry food by 25g for each 100g of wet food. Account for the calories coming from treats. Feeding amounts are intended as guidelines only. Adjust the amount of food according to the age, size and activity level of your dog. Introduce new food gradually when switching diets. Fresh water should always be available. Store in a cool dry place.

James well beloved duck and rice dog food is an extremely tasty mealtime option for my four legged bestie! With duck as the main star ingredient and rice in the mix it’s a lovely Choice for her coat and digestion! Not as high in protein as I would like
[I received this product in exchange for my honest review] Dog loved this eat it up really fast both on its own and mixed with other food - he is a spaniel though they aren't known for being fussy eaters and his no different.
I wouldn't feed this long term on its own it's lower on protine than I like and higher than average dog food when it comes to carbs.
With reseach there's other brands with higher protein count for the same cost.

Perfect recipe for my 5 years old french bulldog

I have french bulldog and it’s very hard to find correct diet for this bread.
Dogs food from James wellbeloved - It’s my first option because my dog is very sensitive to food and this duck and rice recipe the best what we found for her in the past four years time. I use this recipe and brand for my dog from September 2022!
Based on my personal experience I prefer a shape of bites which been just before restyling ( around a year ago ).

Bite size pieces
[I received this product in exchange for my honest review] My dog absolutely loves this. We’ve been using it as treats instead of a main meal as he still loves his wet food. He goes nuts for these as treats. He clearly loves the flavour and they’re small enough to pop in a bag and give to him when he’s been a good boy. The food itself comes in a resealable bag to keep it fresh.
Natural ingredients is great for his digestion too.

Great for my dogs stomach!
My little Sprocker couldn’t wait to dig into this! She loved the taste and it hasn’t affected her stomach at all. She can get quite a sensitive stomach at times.

[I received this product in exchange for my honest review] Fussy dog approved! My dog let loved the size and flavor of the biscuits. As his owner I love that the food is hypoallergenic, supports healthy digestion, skin and coat has immune system support with no wheat and maize. The bag is suitable for recycling, which gives me confidence I am buying from a brand that cares whilst making sure its suitably packaged for freshness.

Small kibble, perfect for little dog!
Perfect for my tiny dog, kibble is smaller than normal dry food which is perfect for my little dog but maybe too small for a bigger dog. Having been fussy with food for a while this had her seal of approval. Very much enjoyed and packaging is super with the resealable bag to keep fresh. Will be buying in the future and our new staple kibble

My dog loves it
Changed recipe in April
My dog is sensitive to chicken and for 11 years has had JW duck and rice without issue. In April this year he got ear and skin problems which has been difficult to treat. My vet asked if the ingredients of his food had changed. I emailed JW and they confirmed that in March 2025 they changed the fat from protein specific to poultry fat. My dog is allergic to chicken. There was no notification on the packaging.
Just a warning if other owners have experienced issues.

Bad for puppy’s stomach
My collie pup ate well and was healthy until I tried the puppy duck and rice food, now reduced eating and drinking and yellow runny bowel movements. Also she stopped getting out to the garden on time and her farts stink. Really not herself. She’s been fine on the lamb, turkey and fish varieties. Fish was her favourite but her coat smelt really fishy when she was in it.

I’ve always used James wellbeloved for my dogs and cats, amazing food, never had any problems, their coats are shiny, they are healthy and energetic, goes down a treat with them and I’m happy they are receiving good nutritional food, I would highly recommend
