The individual sections are made from pinewood treated with a water-based wood lacquer and offer weather-protective properties.
The wide roof overhang and transparent slatted door help to protect your dog from rain, wind and cold. It also has an asphalt roof coating in tile design that helps ensure it is waterproof. The rotating plastic caps and wooden feet protect the kennel from long-term effects of moisture, individually height-adjustable to ensure ground clearance. This helps to level the Spike Comfort Dog Kennel out on uneven ground and ensures stability. It also helps to keep air circulating well through the kennel, protecting against cold floors and wet ground.
And an additional plus: the kennel is easy to clean and assembles with only a few screws.
All you need to assemble this kennel is a screwdriver!

Well constructed and decent quality
Found the spike house easy to assemble and if very decent quality considering the price. I will repaint in the spring but it comes treated just not in the colour I’d like. Really pleased with this purchase.

Lovely dog kennel
Very nice doghouse that's quick to assemble. It suits our needs perfectly. However, I would recommend applying a proper weatherproof paint to ensure it lasts as long as possible.

Really pleased with product
The dog house arrived really quickly and was super easy to put together. There were two of us assembling the dog house which made it really quick. It appears to be pretty solid and sturdy. Whilst our Springer Spaniel is only 4 months old, it looks like it will be just the right size for him when he is grown up! It's the first time I have bought from this company and have been very impressed. Will definitely buy again from Zooplus - thanks :)

Small Spike kennel
Delivery was quick. Unfortunately the top beam sealing the two slated sides of roof, in middle, not sealed. Has split in it. Let's see if this will be waterproof. Disappointing as have used Zooplus for 10 years and have recommend to friends. Time will tell.

The hut is super easy to assemble, very pretty, and sturdy. After I put a blanket and a shirt from the owner inside, our British Shorthair cat no longer misses his moving box, where he used to love sleeping during the day. He loves his hut, size M.

Ideal garage for robotic lawnmowers
Like many other users, we don’t use the Spike Comfort dog house (size L) for a dog, but rather for our lawn mower robot (Husqvarna Automower 320).
The modifications required are manageable and can be easily handled by anyone. I modified the back of the dog house by simply loosening a few screws and removing a couple of boards. Then, I just had to saw off a small wooden strip, and that was pretty much it.
Next, you simply assemble the dog house with the front and back swapped, and you’re done. Mount the roof panels so that the larger roof overhang (approx. 10 cm) is at the front, providing the mower robot with a bit more protection.
This way, the mower robot practically drives in through the back wall, and you can access the charging station connections through the repurposed front side (now at the back). The plastic door still provides sufficient protection, while the dog house remains well-ventilated.
Oh, and of course, I left out the shelves. This allows you to simply position the dog house over the charging station.
Apart from the "garage mode," I haven’t made any changes to my Automower. It works perfectly!
By the way, the dog house also looks quite nice. Later, I plan to apply an additional coat of varnish to keep it looking good for longer.
I’m also satisfied with the quality and the assembly instructions (assembly with modifications took maybe half an hour).
Overall, 5 stars!

Great Kennel
I have bought three of these in various sizes over the years for my dogs. They are easy to assemble. look very good and are extremely hard wearing. My dogs have tried to chew them to bits at different times but they've survived. I have got the plastic doors with them plus some feece bedding and they are lovely and snug in cold wet weather.

A fantastic house, even for cats.
This is truly a fantastic house.
It’s very quick to assemble (we also insulated it with Styrodur) and extremely sturdy.
Our cat feels very comfortable in her house, and we haven’t noticed any unpleasant smells (I think if there were, the cat wouldn’t have gone inside).
Delivery was very fast and straightforward.

Amazing Value
We ordered this on Sunday and it arrived Wednesday, received a great service with updates on my orders progress. It is a fabulous kennel good quality and a great appearance plus it was virtually half price compared to many other sites I checked before purchasing. It was very simple to assemble with clear and precise instructions. Yet to convince the dog to stay in it though but I am sure he will get there! I cannot praise Zooplus enough and will not hesitate to use them again
