Product description

Tasty dry dietetic cat food for adult cats with FLUTD issues. The kibble has uric acidifying properties and an adapted magnesium content. It can help to help dissolve existing struvite stones.

Concept for Life Veterinary Diet Urinary at a glance:
  • Dietetic complete dry food tailored to your cat's specific nutritional needs
  • Scientifically-based nutrition which supports veterinary therapy
  • Top-quality raw ingredients ensure it is well-accepted, and very digestible
  • Made in Germany.
Concept for Life Veterinary Diet Urinary is a premium complete dry food for adult cats with urinary disease. Many cats suffer with FLUTD (Feline Lower Urinary Tract Disease), including bladder infections, cystitis and bladder stones. These issues often occur if your cat does not drink enough and the urine becomes too concentrated. When this happens, excess minerals can form small crystals. Larger mineral formations are called stones. The most common are struvite stones which are made up of a magnesium-ammonium-phosphate compound and occur when the urine pH is too alkaline.

How can Concept for Life Veterinary Diet Urinary help your cat?
This premium therapeutic food has been specifically developed for cats with bladder stones and urinary tract disease and is optimally adapted to suit their specific nutritional needs. The food has acidifying properties which help to dissolve existing struvite stones. These stones are made up mainly of magnesium and phosphorus, so Concept for Life Veterinary Diet Urinary has a customised magnesium and phosphorus content to help reduce urine pH while still providing the appropriate amount needed to cover your pet's daily nutritional needs. The omega 3 fatty acids in salmon oil support shiny fur and supple skin.

Concept for Life Veterinary Diet – tailored therapeutic nutrition for your cat.

Contraindications:
Not suitable for pregnant or lactating cats, kittens, cats with hepatic insufficiency associated with impaired bile secretion.

  • When feeding your cat with a veterinary diet you should consult your vet regularly for check-ups.
  • If your cat's health deteriorates please seek veterinary advice immediately.

Adding a Note to First Review
Dry food for struvite stones is made to encourage your cat to drink more water, so you're going to notice a difference in its drinking habits, so place more fresh water around for your moggie. There will be a difference in its poo habits too - with more water going in, more water is gonna come out. If you're helping your cat keep stones at bay, dealing with this aspect of a different diet is the price for relieving your cats pain and stress and hopefully preventing an expensive operation.

Every Single One Of Our 8 Rescue Cats Loves Urinary Chicken Dry Food
We had an expensive lesson in struviet stones with one of our cats, Jock - so his food has become all about the PH. It's a trial. He likes very little under this umbrella... Concept for Life Urinary Chicken has altered that - to our relief. Haven't tried the wetfood - on ordering some tins of that now - but SO relieved to at least find crunchies that don't cost the earth that he likes. And they - and this has never happened in years of rescuing cats - ALL like the crunchies! *Faints*

Tasty and not greasy
Both of my cats love this food and it's not as greasy to the touch as other dry food we've tried.

ok
My four cats like it. My cat is prone to cystitis and has had it several times this year, but not in the weeks since he ate this (it came back shortly after we returned to normal kibble).

cat likes it
I mixed this with her Hills dry food to make the transition easier. It didn't take long before she didn't really want to eat her Hills kibble anymore and just ate this one. The dry food has been a complete success in contrast to the wet food that she did not want to eat...

It worked!
My tomcat had a severe form of bladder stones. I went looking for good food and had tried several (and more expensive) brands. This food was the only food he really liked to eat. He is healthy again and for now I will continue to give him this food.

Incredible!
my cat is very picky; she has to go on a diet for struvite stones in her bladder .... I have given all the more expensive and well known dry food and nothing worked; I had given up hope but continued to look for something she would eat. And yes, at a good price! ...she eats her kibble with full enthusiasm and I can finally say I've found the right dry food.....I'm so happy and she is ...content!

I tried it and it works
I tried it after buying some of the famous brands for my cat's bladder stone problem. He sniffs the others but won't eat them, at least he appreciates this. After a treatment of antibiotics and this dry food my Susy is definitely doing better.

Eaten with pleasure
We were looking for something for our fussy cat and decided to order a trial pack of this. He took to it straight away and ate the whole portion in one sitting. Normally he gets Kattovit urinary and royal Canin S/O. I'm very happy to have found something else to alternate. Both our cats like pretty much every Concept for Life food. I just wish that this, as well as all the others, came in smaller bags (less than 3kg).

Tasty
Our cat has always had Royal Canin, but we tried a small sample bag of Concept for Life as an alternative and he really enjoyed it

Tip top
Not a bad word to say about this food, my 5 year old cat loves it, he's got cystitis and ever since he started eating concept for life dry food he's doing much better (touch wood) and no more pee everywhere

Good kibble, excellent price
Out of the dry food from the veterinary line these are among the cheapest. I can't say how effective they are in terms of results (my cat finally hasn't had cystitis for over a year, but I've used many brands of specific kibble, even at the same time), but I'm still happy that she likes the flavor of these. I don't feel like giving full marks because I continue to prefer the most famous brands of quality.

Gave my cats diarrhoea
My cats ate this once as an alternative to Royal Canin urinary dry food. It gave them diarrhoea and they never went back to it. Looks like the full bag will be getting binned.

Recommended
My cat didn't tolerate his previous food all that well, which is why I decided to try something new. Apart from being a wonderful food for urinary problems, it really agrees with my cat. I will definitely order it again.

I'm convinced
Our cat didn't get on with her previous urinary food, so I was happy to try the new Vet products from this brand. So far, it's going well and it's ideal for bladder problems.
