Although the battery-powered plastic insects look very real, they are far more exciting than the real thing for your cat. They have an on-off switch on their underside, and when switched on they move at a steady speed across flat surfaces, sometimes turning left or right, and other times heading straight for your cat. Their soft rubber feet work best on smooth surfaces like laminate floor, parquet or tiles.

Batteries containing pollutants are marked with the symbol of a crossed-out wheel bin and the chemical symbol of the heavy metal that is decisive for the classification as pollutant. Cd stands for cadmium, Pb for lead and Hg for mercury.
