The removable lid and stepping platform in the side entrance, which can be attached with a few grips, are both equipped with small holes. Excellent litter box
For two British shorthairs with fussy litter habits and an ability to waggle their backsides outside the box when peeing, this has been an invaluable solution. The most arthritic of the two finds it easy to step into and is much more comfortable using it.

Super!
I think the Modkat XL litter box is fantastic! It's really spacious, and the top-entry opening is big enough (my two Ragdolls fit perfectly inside). I don't think the liner will last very long since my cats always scratch at the walls of their litter boxes, but I don't mind that (you can simply leave the liner out).
Minus point: The price!
Plus point: The company designed the packaging so it can be repurposed as a toy, complete with a play ball!

Nice design, but unfortunately some flaws!
I bought this litter box because it looks stylish and one of my cats is a vertical pee-er. The insert for hanging is absolutely impractical. The hooks don’t sit securely in the holder and come loose easily. The insert is either not watertight, or my tomcat manages to pee in such a way that urine collects between the insert and the base. That’s pretty gross and makes cleaning a hassle. For this reason, I simply stopped using the insert altogether.

Missing parts!
I bought this originally because I thought it was the best! Unfortunately the pegs are very flimsy and don’t stay in place it would maybe of helped if I had received all 4 and got one liner instead of two! Such a shame as I thought especially with the price it would be a greater purchase according to the other reviews that I have read! Everything I have bought from Zooplus is 5 stars toys food litter and treats have been absolutely excellent otherwise! Such a great service provided shame price!

Modcat XL
I now have 2 Modcat XL litter boxes and a smaller one for the bathroom, all with front entry.
These litter boxes are very easy to clean, sturdy, and look elegant. My cats love them, and I wouldn’t buy any other ones anymore.

My cats love it!!
I have the cube Modkat litter boxes (best ever!!) but my cats have put on weight so I bought one of these. They love it and now refuse to use the cube ones so I'm saving for another XL box. My only criticism is that its really hard to remove the liner from the hooks and I wish zooplus would sell the liners!!

The perfect toilet
I have to admit, at first I was a bit sceptical about whether the high price was justified.
But the litter box is truly worth every penny.
For one, the design is absolutely gorgeous, and you can easily place it in a visible area.
Additionally, it has two entry options, which I think is great if you want to gradually get your cats used to the top entry.
We only use the front entry, and even with that, 99% less litter ends up outside compared to our previous box. It also offers plenty of space for digging!

Great litter tray with minor flaws
Overall, we are satisfied with the Modkat XL. Assembly is very straightforward with the help of the instructions; you just need to decide between front or top entry. The litter box is spacious, the material is high-quality, and the design is very appealing. Nice touches like the colour-coordinated scoop and the small logo sticker reinforce the positive overall impression. However, the rubber feet come off quickly, which costs it one star. All in all, we do find the Modkat a bit too expensive.

Perfect cat litter box
My cats love this litter box, and thanks to the higher front entry, hardly any litter gets scattered outside when they dig. I have a tomcat and a cat, and nothing has ever ended up outside (with other litter boxes, I’ve read that they sometimes pee over the edge).
The inner bag is super easy to clean (with washing-up liquid).

Really top-notch
The price is, of course, high for a litter box, but the investment is worth it. The material alone is much higher quality than what you usually get with cat toilets, and the functionality is really well thought out. Super easy to clean, and on top of that, it’s a really stylish piece. My British Shorthairs love using it.

Expensive but worth every penny...
I have a standing pee lady, and up until now, there were regular floods (even with every hooded litter box), as madam managed to keep her bum facing the entrance. Since we’ve had the Modkat XL, everything is fine, even though we’ve left the side entrance open. The litter box is super sturdy and extremely spacious (for a normal house cat). Cleaning is also very easy thanks to the "liner" lining. Despite the high price, highly recommended.....

Great looking litter box, severely overpriced
The XL box looks great, and I was very happy to pay for quality. Sadly it is not a high quality item! Once assembled it was clear the frame and lid was not a tight fit. the lid is very flimsy - but more importantly: the hooks to keep the canvas bag in situ does not fit (3 of 4 of the hooks do not slot in properly and fall off - and thus the canvas bag flips over and my cats are getting litter outside the bag too. (And the hook falls down in box). I expect more for the price! Save your money!

Would not recommend!
I purchased this product after reading positive reviews, unfortunately my view is different...
When I put the unit together some of the smaller parts ( clips ) broke off, the inner sack is very fiddly to install & with regards to cleaning, my 4 year old Maine Coon absolutely refused to use the top opening so I had to change to front opening & so with the lid having such a large opening you can see & smell everything in the box...its also a very expensive litter box...there are better & cheaper !

Unfortunately, very disappointed with the toilet – expected something better for the price.
Advantages:
- Two entrances are super practical, and thanks to the top entry, there’s hardly any litter scattered around.
- The litter box has a nice design, is spacious, and perfectly adequate for our cat (a 3-year-old, normal-sized tomcat but relatively large).
- Daily cleaning is quick and tidy, but now comes the big DISADVANTAGE: the litter insert is NOT SEALED, so when doing a full clean-up, you’re greeted with an unpleasant sight, and it smells accordingly. Hence, only 2 stars :-((((
