Wide Country - Pure Chicken

Disappointed- too late

My cats seemed to be enjoying and I decided to order batch of 400g a costly price - realised too late the 'chicken feet' skin and the sometimes large tough pieces! Didn't know until I read through these reviews. Going to have to be very vigilant - dilute the food and pick through for large pieces to avoid problems for my cats. Costly mistake if I throw away as I wouldn't donate and worry a cat would become poorly. One of my cats vomited and I now suspect it's a piece of foot skin. AVOID.

Seems OK, but tins...

The cats have started to go off eating this. Not only that but EVERY tin that is delivered is dented to the extreeme. It would seem that the manufacturing process requires the tins to be kicked and thrown around the factory before putting into the carboard trays. Several deliveries recieved and every tin is battered. Some aren't even openable (if that's a word). Looking for an alternative now as the care with Wild Freedom just isn't there.

Good firm meaty food

Both of my cats have settled very well to changing to this food and like all flavours. I am a little water and mash it up and find one can goes about six meals so not so expensive. I think the recipe had been improved since I began ordering last year as there quality send even better

Good quality, healthy & nutritious cat food

I always want healthy food for my cats. Have used Wild Freedom for about 3 months or so & it has been reliably good & appreciated by cats. Tins do arrive dented at times but unless couriers overhaul their business model I don't know how this can be improved. I'm so glad I stumbled across this brand because I have had a number of problems with other supposedly healthy foods & I do not want to risk their health.

Quality and Recipe very poor

The product recipe seems to have changed recently as the texture is all sloppy with little meat content, it looks mostly offal which causes the product to go off quickly in the cats bowls. Will not be buying any more.

What has happened

I used thos product for several months and the cats and kittens loved it - the last order I had a few months ago the cats and kittens became ill - vomiting and upset digestive systems - not good for any cat and especially kittens. Yet again another good food gone down the pan - good food is becoming less and less available - best to make your own and it is cheaper even using top notch meats. Never again will I buy this.

Seriously deteriorated in quality

Zooplus has really kicked itself in the teeth with this own-brand product. We've been using this cat food for about 5 years. When we first started using it, chunks of meat were clearly visible, & it seemed to be of reasonably good quality. Now, it's full of fat & dubious by-products like the scaly skin from chicken feet, which is affecting our cats' health. We would have been prepared to cover the rising costs of quality ingredients; we find ourselves searching for an alternative food instead.

Massive quality drop

My 4 cats used to LOVE this food and they were very healthy and happy. Recently the texture and smell of the food has been completely different and my cats had upset stomachs and even vomiting after eating the food. I’ve heard Wild Freedom was spreading clostridium… Truly a shame as this was my go to brand and I still haven’t found as good brand as what WF used to be.

Poor quality

The quality of the food has gone down a lot. It smells bad, is greasy, and the cats get diarrhoea and vomit after eating it. It’s a big drop compared to how it used to be.

Cats used to love this food, not any more.

My two 6 year old cats have enjoyed this food for the past 2 years & I have been very happy with the quality of ingredients. However, since the last batch, one cat has point blank refused to eat it, the other is , unenthusiastic but will just about tolerate it mixed with other food. I have noticed a few other reviewers have also found this to be the case. I can only assume that the ingredients or recipe has changed. Sadly, I would now not recommend.

The quality has drastically decreased in recent weeks

My healthy cats have eaten this foot explosively for past 3 years, last month they started being picky and unenthusiastic about it, was it a whole batch that was uneadible ? Don’t know but defo would not be buying this foot again. Cats don’t finish the food, don’t run towards us at feeding times, it seems a bit smelly and the texture has to have changed (less smooth and more „grainy” or lumpy, odd coloring on some of the bits). I’ve just made another order and must say that WF is not on there.

Despite my cats really loving this food, its price is starting to get ridiculous - it’s gone up nearly £20 since we started buying it!

Wild

I gave been feeding this food to my cats for several weeks and they seem t o like but not crave it and often don't eat all of it. It seems like decent quality but I don't feel like the cans really contain 400g of food as I tried splitting it in to 100g segments, one for each cat and there was only a small amount and what seemed like less than the 85g sachets from other brands. Also it's impossible to properly clean the empty cans to enable them to be recycled as the food sticks to inside of the cans

Recipe change? Cats now turn their noses up!

I am a breeder, and have used Wild Freedom solely for the last 18 months, I buy in bulk, spending at least £250 a month on food, and have never had an issue with both the adults and the kittens licking the bowls clean....until the last batch. I can only assume the recipes have changed? I am having to mix the remainder of the Wild Freedom with other brands to encourage my cats and remaining kittens to eat it! I will try a smaller quantity next time and fingers crossed it was just a dud batch.

Pricey but quality

I have 3 cats and they all love this brand. It's almost 100% meat and the clean their bowls every time. They've been having it a few months now and haven't got tired of it. It's expensive but much better than the crap in supermarkets which is filled with absolute rubbish

Amazing

My Shadow absolutely love it ! Shadow has some gastrointestinal problems but he's alright with this food and he really likes it so I'm happy that his diet it's not so boring anyone :)

My cat is obsessed

I had been searching for a higher protein content cat food after learning how full of fillers some of the supermarket brands are. I switched my cat from Whiskas wet food to Wild Freedom and the difference in her coat was insane; not to mention how much more excited she is about this food. So glad I found it, and it’s affordable which makes it perfect for me.

Excellent.Can full of solid food not like other ones half of gelly and liquids

I have swapped my cat's diet to wet and dry Wild Freedom food in one day not gradually.No hassle,no upset stomach.Cans are filled with solid food not like other ones half of gelly and liquids.There are accually pieces of real chicken meat in it, smells like humans can of ham. Ingredients are the best I have seen so far and along with no grain and gluten this food is pact in vitamins and all right nutrition if believe what they have written on a label.What most important my cat loves it.👍👍
