FLUTD (Feline Lower Urinary Tract Disease) is a complex disease of the lower urinary paths which is often related to crystal creation in the urinary tract, a painful condition for many cats.
The two most common types of crystals that form in the urinary tract of cats are struvite and calcium phosphate. Hill's Prescription Diet Feline c/d Multicare Urinary Care with Chicken can help to reduce the formation of both types of urinary stone. Struvite crystals and stones usually develop from a combination of urine saturated in magnesium, ammonium and phosphorus and alkaline urine pH.

Consistency has changed September 2024
I have been buying this for a couple of years and my cat liked it. It used to be a solid pate but the most recent batch is different - much more sloppy and wet and, I believe, gave my cat an upset stomach. I won't be buying this again unless Hills confirm they have gone back to the old formulation.

Wow that's was fast thanks you my cat love it's
very disappointed
my cat enjoyed the food in the pouches so I decided to buy what i thought would be the equivalent in tins, as they are more environmentally friendly. Really disappointed to find the contents are totally different and my cat refuses to eat it.

Beware, its not the same stuff!
Hill Prescription diet Feline c/d Multicare - Chicken in pouches is chunky chicken in gravy and the tins just look like regular old cat food paste. Even the ingredients look different. My cat loves the pouches but hates the stuff in the tins. Hills should not give different ingredients the same name. Most irritating after buying a few months supply of the wrong stuff.
