I use this sand for my dwarf hamsters and teddy hamsters. Even my one hamster who never used to bathe in sand suddenly rolls around in it with great pleasure. Before, it was just a container of sand sitting around and taking up space. My teddies have very large sand baths and are forced to walk through them because I’ve placed their wheels in there. Every night, after a thorough sand bath, I used to hear a faint sneeze. Since switching to this sand, I haven’t noticed that anymore. So, it seems to be significantly less dusty. The fur of my animals also seems smoother and shinier to me personally. It wasn’t greasy before, so I can’t comment on that. Please don’t remove this product under any circumstances, as I can’t find it anywhere in the nearby pet shops.

One of my chinchillas is very picky when it comes to grooming. We've tried several brands, but this is the only one that all the chinchillas like, and it makes their fur look healthy and well cared for!

Golden and dwarf hamsters love it as bath and toilet sand. It feels soft, doesn’t create dust, and is clean.

My gerbils love their sand bath and will sit waiting for it when I change to sand, as they also use it as a toilet. The sand bath keeps their coats looking glossy without the dustiness of other sands I have used in the past and as they use it for a toilet it keeps their habitat cleaner.

After I made the mistake in my early days of giving my degus cheap bird sand as bathing sand, I am now much more cautious when choosing BATHING SAND, as one of my degus injured an eye with it and unfortunately had to live with it!! This sand is soft and absolutely perfect – better to spend a bit more and keep your pets healthy!!

Ordered the special sand for my gerbils. I'm thrilled. It's very economical. My gerbils use the sand bath as a toilet as well. The sand absorbs the urine well (clumps together) and encloses the droppings. So it could definitely be intentionally used as toilet litter too. Bird sand shouldn't be used for rodents, as it might still contain sharp edges.

This sand has a lovely texture, its very soft and not dusty. My Hamsters love having sand baths in this :D It is a little more pricey then other sands which is the only down side. that being said I would still buy this again.

I ordered this sand when I got my gerbils and was really impressed. Then I tried a different one, but unfortunately, it was no good at all :( Looks like I'll be going back to this one again!

It's amazing! It doesn't clump and is fine. Unlike other bedding that has very thick grains of sand. I'm really impressed with JR Farm, as I've already tried so many others! Great quality! I'll definitely order it again! ❤️👌

Finally, I’ve found decent, non-quartz chinchilla sand with this product! Unlike the product I used before, I have to say I’m miles happier with this sand: 1. The sand doesn’t absorb odours as intensely. 2. Dirt is easy to remove, and liquids stay together in little beads. 3. Great price, and a complete replacement isn’t needed very often. When I switched to this bathing sand (I had unfortunately been using quartz sand before), I immediately noticed after the first bath how different my little ones’ fur looked. It’s much softer and at the same time more compact than before, and the chinchillas seem genuinely happy :) Although the sand is more expensive than the previous one, the small amount of waste makes up for it – and it’s incomparable to pet shop prices anyway.

We use large quantities of chinchilla sand and are quite impressed with the price of this one. The sand clumps well and is easy to sift. Unfortunately, like all Sepiolite sands, it produces a lot of dust. Therefore, it’s advisable to ensure good ventilation when transferring it. We also only transfer it outside the enclosures to keep the dust exposure for the animals as low as possible.

I use it for the rat toilet, and for that purpose, it's a bit too expensive, so I'll switch back to bird sand. Otherwise, it's a great sand that I can only recommend as bath sand.

I find it a bit coarser than the sand I usually buy at the pet shop, but my gerbils don’t seem to notice any difference – as always, they jump right in, dig around, and scatter it everywhere :D

I got my gerbils the little corner loo and this sand and they really love it. When it's clean sand they roll in it a lot to groom, and then they love sitting in the sand pit to eat their food. It does become their toilet too but I make sure to clean it out every day so that they have clean sand to groom in once more. Being desert animals I think the gerbils are really at home with some sand in their enclosure.

I've been using this sand for a long time in the hamster toilet because it clumps really well and doesn't smell. Once, I accidentally filled the toilet with quartz chinchilla sand, and I had to scrape out the urine, plus it smelled too. So, since then, I've only been using the JR Farm sand again.

Tried the small bag and SUPER results!!! Been using this for our hamsters, after 10 years of hassle with the sand trays, for the first time, good absorption of liquids, no smell, and happy hamsters!! Ordered based on customer reviews AND it’s really great stuff. Will keep ordering JR Farm Sand. Really good.

My hamster really likes this sand too; he digs around in it and feels comfortable... I’ll definitely buy this product again.

I didn't notice a change in coat condition in my degus when using this instead of a cheaper brand. It was quite dusty and got kicked up into the air a lot, so it might not be great for asthmatics.
