Hill's Prescription Diet Canine i/d Low Fat Digestive Care

The product itself is good. But the price and the tiny cans?? Ridiculous

My dog had to go on this because of bowel inflammation. I was sad because she has only eaten other brands as long as I added roast chicken, and the vet said I couldn’t anymore. However, she wolfed it down and licked her bowl clean. So thankful!

Bought 12 cans of this as wanted to find a cheaper alternative than buying directly from vets. All the cans were dented and the dark brown thick gloop inside the can in no way resembled the same product bought at the vets, where you could identify ingredients and most importantly my dog would not eat it!

Our dog has to be on this as is on a low fat diet and is the only food that doesn’t trigger her pancreatitis. Does anyone else find a huge variation in consistent between batches? Some tins are like soft pate and others much drier and firmer. We struggle to get her to eat it when it is a drier batch. It is an expensive food so would expect quality control to be much better. Having said this it does keep her pancreatitis at bay saving on Vets fees

Was this food helped my dog as he gets very bad constipation

This food used to be produced in the US but I believe it’s now coming from Europe. The composition of the food has changed completely. It’s now the consistency of butter icing and is very hard to get out of the can. I now have to use two spoons and the food sticks to the sides of the can. The can seems to have changed too and is very sharp once the pull off lid is removed. I seriously cut my finger on a can yesterday. Fortunately my dog still loves the food and it works well.

My furbaby wouldn't eat dog food at all. Until she went ill and we nearly lost her. Due to Immune and digestive system 😪 reluctant to eat purina digestive care. Then diagnosed with pancreatitis my vet suggested Hills prescription diet id low fat chicken stew ➕ Dry food. Never seen her eat and enjoy every scrap of food. ( nothing left. Don't even need to wash the dishes) Is expensive but discount helps. Anything to keep my furbaby with us.

My mini dachshund Beryl who suffered terribly with pancreatitis and a small intestine problem has been fit and well for 3 years now thanks to this wonderful food. Zooplus provide a great service in supplying us with it.

This is the best meat for my terrier, she loves it and the biscuits as well . She has been having trouble with being sick sometimes not eating at all. The vets diagnosed sludge in her gall bladder put her on meds and digestive low fat meat. Brilliant.

I use this to make my dog's special kibble more interesting, so it doesn't work out too expensive. She loves it so much any medication hidden in it is eaten too.

Two years ago our black Labrador was diagnosed with pancreatitis, We had to change him to a very low fat diet and he has been stabilised on the Hills I/d low fat dry food since then. He keeps well, no more sickness, or pain as far as we can tell, and our vet is very pleased with him. He is 9, enjoys long walks and swims off the lead and is still his gorgeous softie self. Long may he continue. I can recommend this product for this condition.

My black lab (Charlie) absolutely loved this food, and we saw a marked improvement in his digestive health. Would definitely recommend this product to any of my friends who have dogs :)

My dog is diabetic. This stuff really works. Accidently bought the other ID easy digesting dry dog food used it for two weeks before realising and my dogs bloods came back as out of the good zone then put him back on this stuff and sugar levels went back to normal. And Welldone Zooplus for making it more affordable for us dog owners!

Since nearly losing Molly (miniature Schnauzer) at the age of 1 to pancreatitis she has been on Hills Low Fat ever since. She is now 5 years old and has never had any more trouble. Zooplus is definitely the cheapest company around and their loyalty programme discount is a great incentive to keep coming back.

This product is still not as good as it was since you had a problem with delivery from the USA at the beginning of the year, it use to be moist & easy to put my dogs tablets in but now it is dry & crumbly , why have things changed?

Hill on the whole produce a good quality food for animals my complaint is that they keep changing the formulas and this causes a great deal of problems for the dogs and owners .. this product is due to changed next year .. WHY change it ??? please leave this perfectly good low fat food that suits so wel

Has been good for keeping pancreatitis at bay. I add water On vets advice as she also has bladder stones and needs to keep fluid intake up.

Hello, our dog Robin absolutely loves it! I alternate it with Low Fat Digestive Care Ragout. I also mix this with the kibble to help prevent tooth decay.

This product was recommended to me by my vet because my little dogs have lymphangiectasia. They really like it and their bowls are always empty after meals. I mix this product with Hill's fat-free kibble as well, and it's perfect. Without this product and the Hill's kibble, my dogs would have been gone a long time ago. Their food is part of their treatment.

Our doctor recommended it to us because of the chronic pancreatitis that has been troubling our Noel.

He'll only eat it if it's pureed and mixed with water, plus a bit of yoghurt on top, because otherwise it's very dry due to the low fat content. But he's allowed to be picky—he's 17 and a half years old 🥰 But he tolerates it very well, his stools are firm, which was important.

Luckily, Yoda really likes it. Unfortunately, he can only have this food because he has pancreas and stomach/intestine problems.

Very good canned food, especially since it was recommended by the vet.

At the weekend, we mix a quarter of a can with his kibble for each meal, which he eats... because, well, you have to.

The health of my two elderly Yorkies requires this product and, in fact, it suits them well in terms of digestion. However, the texture keeps changing, and right now it’s very sticky. I alternate between this and kibble morning and evening to make sure they get enough protein. What I really regret is the 40% price increase with no explanation, and the fact that the tins are very often dented (10 out of 12 in the last pack!)

It's dry and crumbly, and my dogs are having digestive issues.

A little water and mashing helps make it less dry and the stool less hard. My chihuahua doesn’t find it very tasty, but I sprinkle a bit of probiotics on top, which makes him like it more. He’s been eating this for two months now and hasn’t had diarrhea anymore since about two days after we started. I’m also strict with treats because he turns out to be very sensitive to anything with chicken in it.
