Our male Golden Retriever is now 6 1/2 years old, and we've been feeding him only Eukanuba dry food from the very beginning – usually the one for large breeds. When the special Retriever food was released, I wanted to give it a try, as I thought it was specifically designed for this breed. Unfortunately, I had to realise that, despite feeding him less than the recommended portion sizes stated on the packaging, our dog gained a significant amount of weight. His exercise routine and everything else remained exactly the same. In the meantime, I've had this confirmed by other Retriever owners – they experienced the same issues with their dogs. For the sake of completeness, I would like to mention that his coat looked very nice with the Golden Retriever food, and his energy levels had also increased (which is why I couldn't understand the weight gain). In the meantime, I've switched to Eukanuba Senior dry food, and his weight has noticeably reduced within four weeks.

My incredibly greedy Labrador bitch didn’t eat it, she even spat it out when I tried to give it to her as a treat. No, once was enough... we won’t be buying it again.

Since switching to this kibble, even though I did a gradual transition, my dog has had diarrhoea. So I stopped giving him this food and his digestion went back to normal. Now I have no idea what I’m going to do with these bags 😮‍💨
