Dogs like it
It’s not stopped their scratching (no fleas/ticks) but it’s made a big difference to the softness and shine to their coats. I’ll keep on using it for the other health benefits.
I’m trying one more natural product I’ve been reviewing and if the scratching persists, then it’s a trip to the vet 🥲

Supplementary feeding
Unfortunately, we had to stop using it after a while because he could no longer tolerate salmon. Otherwise, everything was great.

Customer / replacement
Following from my last review I have received, very swiftly, replacement bottles of the oil which are working properly. My old spaniels love the oil and have it in their meals every day to help with their coats and arthritic joints. Very pleased.

His coat shines beautifully.
I wanted to do something good for my two furry friends, but only my 2-year-old Dachshund mix tolerates the oil well. Additionally, I noticed that the recommended dosage is too high. Since January, I’ve been giving him 2 pumps on his wet food every day, and he weighs 11 kg. He’s doing well with it—his coat is wonderfully shiny and feels even softer. My old boy, a 14-year-old Schnauzer mix, got diarrhoea after the very first try!

Salmon oil, a good choice
You have to get used to the smell of the oil. In itself, the oil is very good; it makes the fur shine and my cat's skin no longer flakes. I give it once a week (1 pump), ideally with a fish dish/menu. If I mix it with other menus like poultry, beef or game, my cat won’t eat it. I can only recommend it :)

Great oil
My Labrador bitch gets it added to her wet food every day. She tolerates it well, and her coat is shiny 🥰. However, it would be nice if the oil bottles came in 1000ml sizes 🤔.

Well received
Our Siamese cat happily accepts it when mixed into his food. We hope this will help us get his constipation under control.

Good quality product
The oil is easy to use and the dogs seem to like it in their food.. My only problem si that on two recent purchases the dispenser pump did not work. One was my last order and the other a while ago.

For more varied food
I bought the oil because my Husky often leaves his dry food untouched, and I was hoping that a bit of salmon oil would boost his appetite. It actually works every now and then. Every 2-3 days, I add a few pumps over his food, and he loves it (just not in the long run). I haven’t noticed his coat becoming shinier, but his sometimes very rough lips and paws have visibly and noticeably become softer!

Golden Retriever-Border Collie mix
Good product, but a dark bottle would be better.
My dog likes it and looks great!

Only for fearless human noses.
My two cats don’t really eat it, even though they usually love fish. I have to keep it in the fridge because it stinks to high heaven… well, it’s fish after all. Once it’s in the fridge, it’s fine and doesn’t smell anymore. But heaven help me if I put even a drop of it in their food… the entire kitchen gets smoked out… absolutely disgusting. Honestly, I’d rather throw it away; the smell is just way too overpowering for me. If you get it on your hands, you have to wash them at least five times, and you can still smell it afterwards :(

High-quality oil - plastic bottle could be improved
Just a few drops of this high-quality oil per day are enough – my cats' fur has become silky smooth and gained a subtle shine. The oil also keeps very well at normal room temperature.
However, the slim plastic pump bottle arrived covered in oil despite being wrapped in plastic film, and the closure doesn’t seem to seal properly. It also dents easily. This really needs improvement, as the oil itself is excellent and affordable.

Very good oil, plastic bottle could be improved
I have ordered the oil several times now and am very satisfied with the quality. Since we feed our dogs a raw diet, this is a good alternative to the other oils we use in rotation.
The cap could be improved, and oils should generally be stored in dark bottles! At our house, the bottle goes straight into the cupboard.

Great stuff!
Our Flat coated retriever has always scratched a lot but this has reduced a lot since we started using this a couple of months ago. I have also noticed that his skin looks less flaky and his coat is looking really shiny again. The only problem is that he is always wanting more food now, the oil is clearly very tasty and he wolfs down his meals like never before. The loss of a star is because the bottle does leak a bit when used.

Not everyone's cup of tea.
It’s easy to dose, but not every cat likes it. Other salmon oils available on the market are better received.

Good oil, makes a lovely coat and is well tolerated.
A good oil that is well tolerated by all dogs. 1 point deducted because I miss the note on the label indicating that salmon oil is only good for a few weeks.

Helped us well against the daily scratching!
Super salmon oil at a good price. Unfortunately, the packaging isn’t light-protected, so only 4 stars. Otherwise, the daily scratching attacks have disappeared, and the coat is shiny and looks very healthy :-)

Dosage
My recommendation for dosage:
Switch your brain on!
Prerequisite:
You should be able to distinguish between the units ml, tsp, and tbsp.
Assumption:
All salmon oils are similarly good.
Hypothesis:
The most reputable manufacturer probably states the lowest dosage.
Dosage:
Simply choose the lowest dosage as the maximum dosage. And that's it.

Good with limitations
Positive: Dispensing via the pump is very simple and clean – even the coat of my Labrador, which tends to be prone to dandruff, improved and became softer. The price is also very attractive.
BUT: The recommended daily amount based on body weight is (especially for large dogs) very high compared to other, more expensive products. This significantly diminishes the price advantage. For my Labrador, the recommended daily dose for this product is around 25ml, whereas for other salmon oil products it’s only 15ml. That speaks for itself and also explains the "cheap" price.
However, for "trying it out" and for picky eaters, this product definitely has its positive aspects.

Dispenser = great thing
I think the dispenser is a great idea. It means there are no oily bottles or residue. However, I do think the quality doesn’t quite match that of Hunter. Also, I find the dosage quite high. If I followed the dosing instructions, my mastiff would need almost 40ml of it every day... I think that’s far too much.
