My parents have two of these barrels bought a few years ago which are great and the cats love them. So I bought one, but the quality of the new one is not as good as I would have liked. The bottom and top boards have some cracks around the rims etc, and one of the den areas has the cardboard around the edge is damaged so that side warps slightly. Main annoyance is that the bed on the top of the platform does not adhere to the velcro, given the price it is disappointing. Overall still useable.

It's a fantastic piece of kit, but, for the price, I would have expected thicker cushions. The ones provided are incredibly thin and flimsy. I have just had to go to the additional expense of buying a set of circular seat pads. Impossible to find the right size (42cm), so I had to settle for 40cm ones. Not best pleased.

The cushion on top is actually too small; in the photos it looks like the cushion fits right up to the edge of the barrel, but that's not the case at all in reality. Unfortunately, my cat hasn't used the barrel yet. She only goes halfway in when I put treats inside, just to eat them. She hasn't been on top yet. I know she doesn't really like going into things, which is why I bought this, hoping she would climb on it, but so far she hasn't. Maybe she'll warm up to it after some time, who knows.

The cushion on top is too small and doesn’t cover the wood completely like it does in the product pictures, plus it’s a bit wobbly. Other than that, I think the barrel is good.
