Huge, sturdy and beautiful
I was surprised by how big the XXL barrel actually is – it is really huge! 😄 It feels very sturdy and well made, and there is plenty of space inside and on the top for my cats. The material is soft and comfortable, and the barrel looks very nice in the room.
My cats have already started exploring it and seem very interested. I think it will be a great choice for two cats, especially larger ones.
Very happy with my purchase so far! 🐾

Excellent
I purchased this in 2022 for my cats. I also bought a RHR cat tree at the same time. This has outlasted the RHR cat tree. Much better, and my cats love it. Highly recommend.

Not as good as previous barrel
My parents have two of these barrels bought a few years ago which are great and the cats love them. So I bought one, but the quality of the new one is not as good as I would have liked. The bottom and top boards have some cracks around the rims etc, and one of the den areas has the cardboard around the edge is damaged so that side warps slightly. Main annoyance is that the bed on the top of the platform does not adhere to the velcro, given the price it is disappointing. Overall still useable.

Great scratch barrel for larger cats
I was pleased this came pretty much built, you just have to put the bottom and top on. It was easy to put those on, with the screws and alan key, provided.
When it says XXL, they mean it! This is a fantastic sturdy barrel, with lots of space in each of the sections. I have a large ragdoll boy (7kg) and it doesn't even wobble when he jumps on it.
The inners and top bed are nice and soft, so they can get comfortable.
Highly recommended.

Quality
Excellent quality my cp3 cats love the barrel especially daisy who has claimed the top spot I've ordered another barrel for the spare room since the 3 cats love the barrel. I'm hoping the barrel will be delivered before I go back to work on Friday. Highly recommend.

Thoroughly Disappointed
The barrel itself is fine. The issue is with the top plinth and the bed that sits on it.
This is an expensive buy and I expect perfection for this much of my hard earned money.
Unfortunately, the top plinth is much bug for the bed it holds. There is a massive amount of bare plywood on show which is aesthetically extremely unpleasant to look at. The plinth is too big or the bed is too small. Either way it's unacceptable for something costing £115 . VERY unhappy and I do not recommend this produc

Excellent & Sturdy
My large Ragdoll was straight in as soon as I put this up! We were looking for something nice to look at but solid & functional. We have 2 cats & have previously had another cat tower from Zooplus. That was also excellent. The towers you can buy from pet stores are usually too flimsy and not able to withstand the power from my mini lions! Very pleased with this. Excellent quality and build.
Fantastic for large cats
I bought this for my two enormous male ragdolls. I was anxious about spending so much as I worried they might not use it but they absolutely love it. There is plenty of space for them to curl up inside, they love the cat bed on the top and the fabric around it is great for scratching. I’m so pleased with this purchase and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it, especially fir owners of large cats, it’s brilliant!

Didn't even manage to unpack before it was claimed
Product is excellent and both cats are delighted. One small part was missing however zooplus responded immediately to resolve.
Better with slight upgrade!
Bought this tower for my little squad of 3.
My BS has taken to it straight away. It is a good sturdy tower and is definitely large enough for my Maine Coon.
The only thing is that the cushions are pretty poor. There is no cushioning at all in the base of the top bed, and the 3 shelves just have some fur fabric. I solved this with H&M seat Pads. They match pretty well and are the perfect size for the bed. My cats are very happy now.

cats loved within minutes of it arriving
love it, easy to assemble, cats were immediately in it and asleep

Perfect
All 4 of my cats took to this bed instantly. Large, strong and sturdy scratch barrel with cosy built in caves...instant hit all round! Definitely recommend 👍🏻👍🏻

Cushions too thin
It's a fantastic piece of kit, but, for the price, I would have expected thicker cushions. The ones provided are incredibly thin and flimsy. I have just had to go to the additional expense of buying a set of circular seat pads. Impossible to find the right size (42cm), so I had to settle for 40cm ones. Not best pleased.

Must have
I have a Maine Coon, and 3 Birman cats, who love this it’s sturdy so that even the Maine Coon can jump onto the top bunk, and there is no movement,he has claimed the top.even my Papillon loves it, when he gets the chance he gets in the bottom one

Fantastic , sturdy piece of equipement
I’ve had this fior 8 mths now , my two indoor cats have used it everyday , my 3 small chihuahuas are often also seen sharing the bottom two dens with the cats at times.
It’s regularly used as a scratching post as well as climbing frame, play area and bed. And is still looking great , it’s strong, sturdy , stable and has taken all the punishment my crew gives it with its head held high so to speak . Very pleased with it and will be replacing a similar version with this in my bedroom very soon

Perfect for big breeds!
We have 36 cats, 15 of which are bigger breeds - Norwegian Forest Cats and Maine Coons. We needed something sturdy, that wouldn't move when they jumped on and off, and big enough for them to be comfortable sleeping on/in. This is perfect. It can easily withstand a massive Maine Coon taking a running floor to top level jump! Very happy and so are the cats.
Maine coon kitten heaven!
We got this barrel after a lot of searching for something sturdy and big enough to cope with our Maine coon kitten. We wanted to get a scratching post she'd be able to continue using once she got bigger and she definitely will! Very sturdy (despite being surprisingly easy to manoeuvre around a flat), well made and Lady loves it! She spends a lot of time sleeping on the top bed and in the cut out holes and they're big enough that she'll be able to do so when fully grown.

Outstanding quality
As I have many cats I wanted something strong that would last, at the time I had 2 Maine Coons (now 4) so it needed to be big and sturdy and built like a tank. I got exactly what I wanted, it is strong, big, the quality is as my title describes, outstanding, my cats sleep in it, scratch on it, climb up it, hang off it... they love it. Right down to the fine detail you couldn't get better & I hope to buy another soon.

Fantastic item!
I first saw this at my brothers house who lives in Sweden who has 6 maine coons. I was very impressed with the quality of this product so ordered one for my 4 fur babies. My Ragdoll particularly loves the top bed!
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!
Best scratching post
I bought this almost a year ago, in desperation after my cats damaged carpets and furniture. I tried scratching pads, mats, posts, boxes laced with catnip, in fact everything else before resorting to this scratch barrel. It was quite an investment even at the reduced price but the two cats took to it immediately, using it for play, sleeping and...yes, even scratching. Well worth the money and highly recommended.

Recommendation!!!
We've had this scratching barrel for at least 2 years now and our two cats absolutely love it. Whether it's for sharpening their claws or just as a cosy place to sleep, it's perfect. It was a really great purchase. Highly recommended and it also looks really good.

The tower is really nice, my little one likes it. Unfortunately, there are no Velcro fasteners in the bed at the very top, so I can't secure it properly. For this price, I don't think such shortcomings should happen…

XXL Tower
The tower looks really nice and is easy to assemble. Unfortunately, my 11-week-old kitten is still too small to climb up to the highest bed. However, she uses the other levels and is happy with it.

Opinion after a year of use
The construction is solid, and the cats love sleeping on the top bed. A big downside is that you can't buy a replacement for that top bed. I've washed it twice, and each time it came out of the washing machine with a hole. The material literally falls apart in the wash.

I'm disappointed 😔!!!
I'm really disappointed with the XXL scratching barrel this time 🥺!
A few years ago, we bought this XXL scratching barrel twice already, and back then they were much heavier, sturdier, and also cheaper!!!
And today I see it's on offer for €107.90, but I paid €134.90—bad luck for me, I ordered it on Sunday, unfortunately too early!! And now it's also lighter and smaller than the old scratching barrel, which honestly makes me really sad!!!

super
Even for a larger pet (14kg+), it's suitable—very stable construction and also easy to keep clean 🥰

Great product
A tower that's been a hit with the cats I look after! They scratch their claws on it, sleep in the basket on top or in the little hideaways. Really good quality, easy to maintain, and doesn't take up much space.

Nice bin, but...
Years ago, I bought a bin—this exact one—and now I've noticed that the new XXL bin is both smaller and lighter. The height difference is a whole 3 cm, and it's 1 cm narrower. The new bin weighs 15.5 kg, while the old one was 17.8 kg. So, some savings have been made here; don't get me wrong, it's still a nice bin, but it seems to have shrunk a bit over the years ;-)

For everyday use
The XXL barrel is in daily use with my two cats, so it was absolutely worth it for us. :) The product is very stable, a well-built construction. However, the cover on the cushion at the top level isn’t the strongest against claws.

Bit of a letdown
The cushion on top is actually too small; in the photos it looks like the cushion fits right up to the edge of the barrel, but that's not the case at all in reality. Unfortunately, my cat hasn't used the barrel yet. She only goes halfway in when I put treats inside, just to eat them. She hasn't been on top yet. I know she doesn't really like going into things, which is why I bought this, hoping she would climb on it, but so far she hasn't. Maybe she'll warm up to it after some time, who knows.

Check the sizes carefully
My cats are big, so I went for the XXL because of the height of the inner spaces. I have to say it’s really large, even bigger than I expected. Maybe the XL would have been enough.
Apart from that, it’s sturdy, good quality and comfortable for them. Very easy to assemble. I totally recommend it.

Tower scratching post
The scratching post arrived quickly and was well packaged. There’s not much to assemble, but the cushion on top needs some Velcro, otherwise when the cat jumps down the cushion moves.

Good, but...
The cushion on top is too small and doesn’t cover the wood completely like it does in the product pictures, plus it’s a bit wobbly. Other than that, I think the barrel is good.

Very nice scratching tower
Very good quality. Downside: the cushions are really too thin. My first cat, who’s very curious, took to it as soon as it arrived, while my second, more cautious cat took 4 months.
