Excellent
I purchased this in 2022 for my cats. I also bought a RHR cat tree at the same time. This has outlasted the RHR cat tree. Much better, and my cats love it. Highly recommend.

Not as good as previous barrel
My parents have two of these barrels bought a few years ago which are great and the cats love them. So I bought one, but the quality of the new one is not as good as I would have liked. The bottom and top boards have some cracks around the rims etc, and one of the den areas has the cardboard around the edge is damaged so that side warps slightly. Main annoyance is that the bed on the top of the platform does not adhere to the velcro, given the price it is disappointing. Overall still useable.

Great scratch barrel for larger cats
I was pleased this came pretty much built, you just have to put the bottom and top on. It was easy to put those on, with the screws and alan key, provided.
When it says XXL, they mean it! This is a fantastic sturdy barrel, with lots of space in each of the sections. I have a large ragdoll boy (7kg) and it doesn't even wobble when he jumps on it.
The inners and top bed are nice and soft, so they can get comfortable.
Highly recommended.

Quality
Excellent quality my cp3 cats love the barrel especially daisy who has claimed the top spot I've ordered another barrel for the spare room since the 3 cats love the barrel. I'm hoping the barrel will be delivered before I go back to work on Friday. Highly recommend.

Thoroughly Disappointed
The barrel itself is fine. The issue is with the top plinth and the bed that sits on it.
This is an expensive buy and I expect perfection for this much of my hard earned money.
Unfortunately, the top plinth is much bug for the bed it holds. There is a massive amount of bare plywood on show which is aesthetically extremely unpleasant to look at. The plinth is too big or the bed is too small. Either way it's unacceptable for something costing £115 . VERY unhappy and I do not recommend this produc

Excellent & Sturdy
My large Ragdoll was straight in as soon as I put this up! We were looking for something nice to look at but solid & functional. We have 2 cats & have previously had another cat tower from Zooplus. That was also excellent. The towers you can buy from pet stores are usually too flimsy and not able to withstand the power from my mini lions! Very pleased with this. Excellent quality and build.
Fantastic for large cats
I bought this for my two enormous male ragdolls. I was anxious about spending so much as I worried they might not use it but they absolutely love it. There is plenty of space for them to curl up inside, they love the cat bed on the top and the fabric around it is great for scratching. I’m so pleased with this purchase and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it, especially fir owners of large cats, it’s brilliant!

Didn't even manage to unpack before it was claimed
Product is excellent and both cats are delighted. One small part was missing however zooplus responded immediately to resolve.

Bought this tower for my little squad of 3.
My BS has taken to it straight away. It is a good sturdy tower and is definitely large enough for my Maine Coon.
The only thing is that the cushions are pretty poor. There is no cushioning at all in the base of the top bed, and the 3 shelves just have some fur fabric. I solved this with H&M seat Pads. They match pretty well and are the perfect size for the bed. My cats are very happy now.

Cushions too thin
It's a fantastic piece of kit, but, for the price, I would have expected thicker cushions. The ones provided are incredibly thin and flimsy. I have just had to go to the additional expense of buying a set of circular seat pads. Impossible to find the right size (42cm), so I had to settle for 40cm ones. Not best pleased.

I have a Maine Coon,and 3 Birman cats,who love this it’s sturdy so that even the Maine Coon can jump onto the top bunk, and there is no movement,he has claimed the top.even my Papillon loves it, when he gets the chance he gets in the bottom one

Fantastic , sturdy piece of equipement
I’ve had this fior 8 mths now , my two indoor cats have used it everyday , my 3 small chihuahuas are often also seen sharing the bottom two dens with the cats at times.
It’s regularly used as a scratching post as well as climbing frame, play area and bed. And is still looking great , it’s strong, sturdy , stable and has taken all the punishment my crew gives it with its head held high so to speak . Very pleased with it and will be replacing a similar version with this in my bedroom very soon

Perfect for big breeds!
We have 36 cats, 15 of which are bigger breeds - Norwegian Forest Cats and Maine Coons. We needed something sturdy, that wouldn't move when they jumped on and off, and big enough for them to be comfortable sleeping on/in. This is perfect. It can easily withstand a massive Maine Coon taking a running floor to top level jump! Very happy and so are the cats.
Maine coon kitten heaven!
We got this barrel after a lot of searching for something sturdy and big enough to cope with our Maine coon kitten. We wanted to get a scratching post she'd be able to continue using once she got bigger and she definitely will! Very sturdy (despite being surprisingly easy to manoeuvre around a flat), well made and Lady loves it! She spends a lot of time sleeping on the top bed and in the cut out holes and they're big enough that she'll be able to do so when fully grown.

Outstanding quality
As I have many cats I wanted something strong that would last, at the time I had 2 Maine Coons (now 4) so it needed to be big and sturdy and built like a tank. I got exactly what I wanted, it is strong, big, the quality is as my title describes, outstanding, my cats sleep in it, scratch on it, climb up it, hang off it... they love it. Right down to the fine detail you couldn't get better & I hope to buy another soon.

Fantastic item!
I first saw this at my brothers house who lives in Sweden who has 6 maine coons. I was very impressed with the quality of this product so ordered one for my 4 fur babies. My Ragdoll particularly loves the top bed!

Best scratching post
I bought this almost a year ago, in desperation after my cats damaged carpets and furniture. I tried scratching pads, mats, posts, boxes laced with catnip, in fact everything else before resorting to this scratch barrel. It was quite an investment even at the reduced price but the two cats took to it immediately, using it for play, sleeping and...yes, even scratching. Well worth the money and highly recommended.
Well made, doesn't wobble, looks good
Bought in Nov 2014 for six indoor cats ranging from 3kg to 8kg who took to it immediately. Very stable even when used as a scratcher. Took dangly balls off after one cat got entangled while climbing inside. Very easy to hoover and removable beds wash well. The three holes are big enough for a Norwegian male to get in with room to spare. Maximum scratching area 95cm high x 104cm wide. Ready for replacing now as they've clawed the outside down to the base frame. I will buy again

Opinion after a year of use
The construction is solid, and the cats love sleeping on the top bed. A big downside is that you can't buy a replacement for that top bed. I've washed it twice, and each time it came out of the washing machine with a hole. The material literally falls apart in the wash.

Beautiful retreat and play area
Both of mine love the barrel. The unfinished wooden board takes a bit of getting used to and I find the cushion is a bit loose, but otherwise the barrel is an absolute dream. Years ago, I bought a bin—this exact one—and now I've noticed that the new XXL bin is both smaller and lighter. The height difference is a whole 3 cm, and it's 1 cm narrower.
