Wild Freedom Adult "Cold River" Salmon - Grain-Free

Used to be big pieces, oily finish and my cats LOVED it. I have wasted over £150 on dry food from this brand since they changed the packaging and recipe they are now small pieces that are dry and look so different. All cats wont touch it

My cat been eating these for many years but now will pick at them as a last resort. Same with the chicken flavour which used to be her favourite. The kibble is rock hard now and dry. Her poos are also very dry and small as a result of the biscuits I think. She’s not happy and neither am I.

I have 2 maine coone/domestic cats and they don't like big biscuits, these are the biggest cat biscuits I've seen. Cats generally swallow biscuits without chewing and I'd think this could be pretty dangerous for smaller mouths.

Think I got this bag through the rewards, so figured I'd mix with their current dry food (kitten in another brand), and was very surprised at the size of the pieces. I read the packet 3 times, to see if I'd ordered fog food. Kittens like it though, and have to give it a good crunch up. (7 month old kittens, but tall/big boys.)

Gave this a try after using JWB Oral care for years, but the last bag gave one of the cats an upset tummy. Not sure it’s the cat getting old or JWB changed the recipe. They seem to like this in the Salmon flavour and cat is back to normal. I only feed dry as a top up and always these larger kibble type so they actually have to chew it, rather than swallowing it whole.

I have two fussy sisters, but they love this dry food. From the first day I mixed it in with their old food for a smooth transition, they were picking out the wild freedom biscuits & eating that first. Some people have said their cats struggle with the kibble size, but doesn't seem to be a problem for my two 3.5kg kitties. Very happy with this and just ordered a second bag.

My male Bengal bolts his food. We’ve tried the bowls for fast eaters but all cat kibble is small and it doesn’t even touch the sides resulting in him vomiting whole kibble. He has to chew this and I’ve he doesn’t vomit anywhere near as much.

Wow, just Wow. One of my kitties is tremendous fussy about her food. Always has been an Applaws eater. But since the recallI. I was forced to find an alternative and it had to be fish flavour. Day 1. Bowl down and both fighting to get to the Wild Freedom cold river. Usually there's still abit left at breakfast and they craze throughout the day, but not today. I pray this lust for Wild Freedom continues with Applaws wet food supplement, just because they love that too. Thank you

I tried this dry kibble after having bought the Feringa kibble, and the size of the pieces of Wild Freedom adult kibble is almost 2.5x size of the Feringa ones!! My cat took to this dry food immediately and loves it so much he doesn’t leave any in the bowl, the only problem is i’m starting to find his sick with WHOLE pieces of this kibble in it! The little guy is so greedy he basically hoovers it up whole 😂 4 stars for quality and taste (according to my cat!) but docked one star for the size.

I gradually moved on to this as my fussy cat seemed to prefer it but now has a very runny tummy. I'm going to go back to a mix of this & Feringa. Biscuit size is rather large too. Helps make cats chew but they also occasionally get them stuck on the roofs of their mouths & 1 of mine leaves half chewed bits everywhere.

I have 5 cats and they each have a preference in foods. However I must say that this particular one they all love. The only downside for me is that the largest bag is 2kg. Is the food available in 4kg bags, which is what I usually buy in other brands.

This has a high meat content and goes down very well. The kibble is big but that's not a problem. Would buy again.

My cats really like it, they eat a lot of it and it's healthy.

My cat Mia likes it, although the kibble pieces are bigger than I expected... Since it's nutritious, it will last quite a while, just like the kitten version of this food did...

Unfortunately, I have to agree with the negative reviews here. My two tomcats used to love this food, but ever since the recipe changed about half a year ago, they won’t touch it anymore. I’ve tried all sorts of different varieties, but none of them are accepted now. Such a pity...

My cat is losing fur and seems to be getting thinner with this food.

A product that claims to be salmon but actually has nothing to do with salmon—it's all chicken-based, which, among other things, my cat can't have because he's allergic.

Unfortunately, the overall quality has gone downhill. The consistency has changed, the croquettes are crumbly and dry. Half of the contents are broken and unusable. With my first order, I thought it was just a mistake or a one-off accident. But now, with the second order, it's exactly the same. So neither the quality nor the price is right. I'll be switching back to Leonardo now—more expensive, but it's been a quality product for years.

My cat loved these kibbles. He used to vomit from the chicken and beef ones from this brand, but finally thrived on these, and even learned the command "paw" for them. After the recipe changed, neither of my cats like them anymore, they just stay in the bowl and only eat them if they have to. Last time, the kibbles arrived very crushed (the bag wasn’t damaged). Compared to the previous ones, they’re extremely dry and porous. After 51 days, still no response! I tried the other new "samples" (they always ate them instead of treats) and now even my second cat doesn’t like them... such a shame, it used to be a good brand.

Product completely ruined by so-called improvements. Has nothing in common with the previous version anymore. The bits are smaller than before, more crumbly, and were already falling apart in the bag. Now I have to readjust the portions for my tomcat. It’s all quantity over quality now. I’ll be looking for a different food. Really disappointing. Failed 👎

And the neighbour’s cat loves it too :) No grains added, so when they’re full, they’re really full. This lasts me much longer than supermarket kibble (so even though each bag is a bit more expensive, it doesn’t actually cost me much more in the end).

My cats used to love it and now they won’t eat it, they come close, sniff it and run away—it has an unpleasant smell. The quality has gone down and it’s not even the same size, colour or smell anymore. It was the only thing my cat ate happily, now she won’t even try it. I hope they go back to the old recipe, I won’t be buying it again.

Almost more treats than food 😆

Always bought it because of the high percentage of fresh meat, but now with the new recipe there’s 25% less fresh meat. The kibble is also smaller, so the cats aren’t encouraged to chew anymore. And even worse: my cats like it a lot less, even though they always loved the previous version. Really a shame.

Since the new recipe, the kibble crumbles quite a lot. My cat eats it, but it’s clearly not her “favourite” anymore. I’ve had the same experience with other flavours too. She used to almost tremble with excitement for the old one. It’s a shame, but despite this, I still buy it, because apart from the unnecessary crumbs, she does eat it.

The kibble is too big. Out of my 8 cats, 6 won’t even look at it. I’m sorry it didn’t work out for them 🫤

I agree with the others – after the recipe and size changed, I don’t even look at these anymore. Such a waste of money. I’ll be looking for an alternative now.

I can only agree with everyone else. Unfortunately, the nice big chunks have been changed to small ones. Our cats don’t even look at them anymore. We only had a subscription for the dry food. I can save myself the trouble now since no one likes it anymore. Such a shame. Please, please go back to the old size and recipe.
