My 2 9mth Himalayan x girls love it. They were on some terrible whiskers biscuit with mum, I changed to this over 1mth and they have done really well but they do drink a lot and occasional loose poos. Due to Start trial of Orijen which is the expensive comparable, made with fresh not dry meat and less carbs to see if these final niggles subside. I still recommend this food as my girls coats are amazingly silky and they are very spritely. Will move back if no improvements.

used as a complimentary snack for the greedy felines -wont eat a meal without some treats so we sprinkle a bit of this on their very expense raw food!

I’ve been feeding two feral kittens (since their mother brought them to me,) on applaws kitten food. They are doing really well on this, lovely shine to their coats. Wouldn’t feed anything else now! It loses a star because it’s not british chicken, which is a disappointment.

Excellent, healthy food. Always buy it for the kitties. But the packaging for the 7.5kg version is not suitable for the size. Due to the weight, the built-in seal tears instantly, no matter how careful you are. So you are left with an always-open HUGE bag of cat food.

Whilst I can't comment on dry food since finding wet food my cats lick the bowl clean. So far so good especially as one of my two cats has a thyroid problem and this food doesn't contain calcium iodate all other brands do.

I always feed my cats on good quality food (Almo Nature, etc) but they always leave Applaws dry food. It's clearly good quality (the ingredients list is excellent, as is the smell!).They love the Applaws wet food though.

I've been buying this for a few years now and it's a good fail-safe high quality dry cat food. Far superior to the more famous brands found in the supermarket. We did a slow changeover and didn't experience the runny toilets like some other reviews. The only downside (and the reason for 4 stars) is when I bought the first bag my cat ate it like there was no tomorrow but now she's more "take it or leave it" and will pick at her bowl throughout the day. There are now some other competitive brands that she prefers the taste of (though she would maybe go off those too with time so it might just be her!).

Bought Applaws to replace Whiskers dry food as I read great reviews. And also wanted to reduce the smell of the cats poop since I have 2 cats now... Immediately both cats loved it! And best of all the cats don't poop as much and their poop doesn't smell! So it is very high quality! Unfortunately one of my cats regurgitates water and bits of food straight after drinking large quantities of water. When she finishes eating this she goes to drink a LOT. My other cat seems fine with it. I've tested this product for 5 months and my cats both put on about 600g of weight and look healthy. However after switching them back to Whiskers, my cat doesn't vomit any more. I really like this brand however unfortunately will need to look at a different one now because random vomiting outweighs the other benefits.

My cat seems to be able to go longer on less kibble on Applaws Cat Food for Kittens compared to Royal Canin Mother and Babycat. His fur is noticeably shinier. Switched cold turkey and the kitten accepted it immediately. Unfortunately the smell is just too strong for us. RC and Acana have almost no smell compared to this.

Bought this product while on a special offer and because my cats love the wet food so much, shame it's so expensive. I find that every time both my cats eat this, they end up vomiting all their morning wet food up, not sure why, both my cats are indoor cats but they can't seem to cope with biscuits for hairball control. This food also has quite a strong smell.

I was so pleased when I first saw these on offer, 80% meat! I snapped a few bags up, but my Benji was just not interested..she is soooo fussy!! Now I stick to Royal Canin Sensible, Fit 32, and Exigent 33 Aromatic Attraction, to give her variety, and she loves them

My kitten has been eating this for the past few months and wolfed most of it down to start with but now she seems bored of it. I would 100% keep her on this if she'd eat it but she won't anymore. Brilliant meat content, made her coat gorgeous and soft.

Excellent quality food, but the cat won't eat it! I've tried mixing Applaws with Hill's (her preferred brand) to try to move her over to it, but as soon as there's a whole bowl of Applaws on its own, she scratches at the mat and leaves most of it uneaten. She loves the Applaws pouches, so it is just the dry food that she doesn't like. Applaws dry food is very good quality and has no grains, which so many other dry cat food brands have in them. I first bought this food as I would like to switch my cat over to a diet with fewer carbs. I have had a similar issue with Orijen, which is also excellent quality, so I suspect she simply doesn't like the taste of all-protein dried food. Unfortunately she initially seemed to love Orijen so I bought a large bag, and now have a 10kg bag of a food the cat just won't eat! If your cat has been eating a dry food which contains more grains, my advice is to try out a couple of small sacks before you buy any of the big ones so that you don't waste your money if it then goes off the food, as mine did!

My Birman tends to go off his food if it's the same thing every day (wouldn't you?), so we leave two or three bowls of different types of Royal Canin kibbles around the house so he doesn't get bored. I started feeding him this as well and although he likes it, it's never the first bowl that he empties. Some people have reported loose stools etc which may be due to the high protein content. I haven't seen any such problem since we got it a month ago. But this might be due to it being part of a varied diet.

I think it's sad that this food has had a lot of bad press, it's a really high quality good food. One of the few grain free foods with a high meat content. In my top 3 favourite dry foods. Recommended.

We have a bengal female (neutered) and a cornish rex male. Although the transition was a little harsh (diarrhea and vomiting) they both like it and are in perfect health. They don't have the bad breath they had with royal canin dry food and are in perfect shape! I'd recommend to do a very slow, progressive transition (a week, a week and a half) if you are passing from another brand to this one so their organisms can get used to this new food.
