It's okay.
I didn’t buy the exact same one but a similar type of litter – also pellets – and I have to say, it’s not bad, but you can hardly separate the wet litter from the clean one, and the pellets are just too hard for my guinea pigs’ little feet. As a result, I’d be forced to use wood shavings as well, and that, in my opinion, defeats the purpose.

Guinea pigs don't like it at all.
Well, my guinea pigs weren’t very happy with the product. There’s no doubt it’s very absorbent and hygienic. Unfortunately, you can’t tell where or when you need to clean up. After switching back to regular wood shavings, the guinea pigs felt comfortable again.

It doesn't get any better than this...
I’ve tried quite a few things for my two little ones. One smelled awful, the next didn’t absorb at all, and the one after that ended up scattered all over the room and cage (I only use it in the litter box). With Cat’s Best, I haven’t had any of these problems. As I said, it doesn’t get any better than this!!

Absorbency and Odour
These pellets are the best for underneath the regular wood bedding. The wooden floor of the cage stays completely dry even after 2 weeks, and there’s absolutely no smell. I have 5 guinea pigs in a large wooden cage, and they make a lot of "mess". I’ve tried many things before. This combination—using pellets as a base layer under the wood bedding—is the perfect solution. I’ll be using it from now on.

Absolutely nothing for cats!
There was only one thing in the loo: soggy mush that smelled absolutely awful. I clean (remove clumps) twice a day, and yet the whole flat stank. My cats quickly refused to use their litter box. Hardly absorbs and doesn’t clump. Really not recommended for cats!

Simply brilliant
Previously, I used Pitti wood litter and ordered Cat’s Best Universal for my dwarf rabbits due to delivery times.
Cat’s Best doesn’t crumble as quickly as Pitti (with Pitti, I always had heaps of wood crumbs in the cage right away) and is just as odourless. Pitti isn’t bad, but I find Cat’s Best a bit better. Even though the delivery driver has to lug it around quite a bit ;-(, I buy the 40-litre bag. After all, it’s not every week!

***Not for cats!!!
I was quite surprised by the shape of the litter. I thought my furry friends were supposed to find it comfortable? OK – my two cats have accepted it. One positive aspect of the litter is that it doesn’t stick to their paws, so you don’t end up finding it scattered all over the flat. But it doesn’t absorb; the pee runs through, and then the pellets underneath disintegrate when they get soaked – it’s hardly possible to separate the clean part from the dirty. And as for the solid waste, it just sits on top and isn’t covered – probably because the cat struggles to balance on the pellets. This leaves the smell lingering in the flat. I wouldn’t recommend it to cat owners, but for rodents, it’s probably a great option. I’m going back to Cats Best Öko Plus – it’s truly the best litter my cats have tried so far!

No more smells with my rat
At the moment, we have 17 rats in various sizes. Before, we used maize bedding, which was really great, but it would fly all over the room, and if it got under a chair leg, it would leave a big groove in the parquet floor. Then we tried hay, but that smelled absolutely awful!
Now we've tried this: and lo and behold, nothing flies around, and it doesn’t smell at all. The cage only needs cleaning every 2 weeks at most (though we do have a giant cage/aviary).
We’ll definitely stick with this for our rats!

Really brilliant!!!
I've tried quite a few things for my Hoppel, but Cats Best is simply the best. It absorbs well and has great odour control! I'm sticking with it now!

It doesn't get any better than this.
For the giant vivarium of our guinea pigs, it's just perfect: first a layer of Cat's Best Universal, then a thick layer of small animal bedding, and straw on top. Everything stays wonderfully dry!! I only occasionally change the bedding in the corners. This is what we'll use from now on!!

Well, so-so
Well, I have to say, I expected more! Either this stuff doesn’t absorb at all because it’s too hard, or it absorbs wonderfully and then the pellets crumble into dust! From now on, I’m going back to using the maize litter – it absorbs well and doesn’t create as much awful dust as this one. In my opinion, not recommended for rats!

Very good for our rabbits!
I haven’t tried the litter with our cats yet, but for our rabbits, the bedding is perfect.

Hooray, finally found it again!
Dear Sir/Madam,
I ordered this litter from Quelle in 2002 and was very sad when they could no longer supply the universal litter. I am highly allergic and asthmatic, and I get along well with this litter. My two tomcats also prefer this litter from Cat’s Best Universal over all other types of litter. I can even compost this litter on the compost heap, which I find very environmentally friendly. My two tomcats are very healthy with it.
I am very glad that Cat’s Best finally directed me to your website.
Kind regards,
Ursula Lühmann

Really great for rodents
I was very sceptical about whether it would work to bind moisture and odours. Now I’m convinced that this is the right product for the cage. I only need to clean the cage once a week, and depending on the situation, just in the areas where my two have their toilet. You can easily swap it out. Put fresh straw on top, and you’re done. My two are really happy that they no longer have wet bottoms.

Optimal
After trying out pretty much every type of bedding for my rats, I've finally come to a conclusion. Cats Best is truly the best – I've had it in for over a week now and haven't had to change it!!! You only need to replace the bedding in the corners, and it lasts forever.
The smell is great, it looks fantastic, it binds odours well and doesn't create dust. And the price is definitely reasonable :)

Perfect for rabbits
After trying out various types of cat litter for my rabbits, I’m sticking with this kind of wood litter. So far, it’s the best when it comes to odour control. Plus, it doesn’t get stuck in their fur. Just add a layer of straw on top, and you’re done.
Pitti wood litter is just as good.

Super!!!
After our disappointing experience with the monthly litter Fresh 'n' Easy, we decided to give Cat's Best a try based on the positive feedback on zooplus.de. And it's fantastic – nothing smells or reeks, it doesn't create dust, and with regular cleaning, you only need to completely replace the filling every 2-3 weeks. The sawdust that the cat drags out is a bit annoying, but we've placed a mat for feet and paws in front of it, and honestly, a few dry wood crumbs are much better than some kind of chalky sludge.

Unfortunately, my cat didn’t take to the litter at all, but my guinea pigs seem very comfortable with it.

This is a really great bedding; it doesn’t smell as quickly as wood shavings and absorbs moisture better too. Our three guinea pigs feel especially comfortable in it.
