Odourless bedding

I was really satisfied with the bedding. It doesn’t produce as much dust as regular wood shavings. My gerbils were able to dig tunnels by packing the bedding down nicely. It was great to watch, and not only did the mice love it, it even smelled less.

My hamster loves it

My picky hamster lady really likes this bedding. When I first added it to a designated area, she immediately moved in and made herself a new nest there. It's very soft and somewhat clumpy, meaning it also invites digging. It's also great for hiding food in, so the hamster can happily search for it. It has a slightly unusual smell, but not like urine. I think the scent is more due to the nature of the material (raw cotton fibre).

Great for spreading in winter

I use cotton bedding to make the rabbits' shelter a bit cosier for them in winter. The long-eared ones happily use the bedding to lie on.

Racing & Fancy Mice & Hamsters

Love this bedding at my place. The bedding is mixed with hemp bedding, regular bedding, and hay for gerbils and hamsters to create stable tunnels. Inside their house, they have the cotton bedding without any mix. For the fancy mice, the cotton bedding is just padding inside their house. Mice do smell quite a bit, after all. The cotton bedding is soft, low in dust and odour, and it's simply the best bedding for us to achieve stability with large amounts of substrate.

Super bedding

I don’t understand the negative reviews. It’s natural pure cotton, so of course it doesn’t permanently bind odours. You should clean the corners regularly. For small animals that produce a lot of biomass, it’s only suitable for cosy corners or sleeping areas. For dwarf hamsters, gerbils, and degus, it’s perfect. You just remove the corners and top it up, with a full clean once a month. You can mix it wonderfully with hemp bedding, which also helps with odour control. And it doesn’t create dust!

My mice's favourite bedding!

The price is definitely worth it! My mice absolutely love digging and building tunnels, and they now only sleep underground in the soft cotton bedding.

Rat-friendly?

I actually thought my rats would love it because it feels soft and velvety. I used hay as bedding before, but now I tried cotton bedding as a test. Two of my males behaved really strangely, they didn’t want to walk on it at all, spent hours lying on their houses, and clung to the cage bars to move around. I had to remove it again the next day because they should feel comfortable in their cage. The other three eyed it cautiously but didn’t behave as extremely.

Not recommended

Tried this bedding, usually use Carefresh, and I'm completely dissatisfied – it doesn't absorb the smell at all... Not recommended 👎🏼

Very good

My hamster loves the cotton bedding; it's nice and soft and lasts a long time before it runs out. My first pack lasted 2 years before it was finished—you really get a lot out of the cotton bedding. That's why it gets 5 stars from me :)

Nice and soft, absorbs well, doesn’t retain odours...

I tried it for the first time and I'm not very impressed. It is very soft and absorbs well, but it smells strongly of urine after less than a day. I used it in the cage for my three guinea pigs. I won’t be buying it again – it smells too strong, and you need too much of it, which makes it too expensive. Unfortunately...

Quite dusty and doesn't smell good...

Cotton bedding is a great idea in itself, but this one is quite dusty compared to the ones I've bought before. On top of that, it has a rather unpleasant smell. I'll definitely switch back to my previous choice... so unfortunately, it's only "sufficient" for the low price.

Super, but...

I use it as bedding for my gerbils (mixed with hemp bedding), and with the cotton bedding, they no longer have any issues digging their tunnels, and they don’t collapse either :) 👍 Unfortunately, this bedding has been really dusty for me lately! Even I have to sneeze when I pour it in :( But otherwise, it’s really good :)

Super soft and odour-absorbing bedding

I’ve been using this bedding for my dwarf rabbits for several years now, and I’m absolutely thrilled with it. It’s super soft and cosy, and it does an excellent job of controlling odours! I can only highly recommend it!

Very good

I’ve had to try out a lot of different types of bedding recently because my guinea pigs have allergies and are also very sensitive to hardness on their feet. After much trial and error, I’ve settled on Hugro hemp bedding, which I always top with Hugro cotton bedding – otherwise, the hemp bedding tends to shift around easily. It’s very pleasant, soft, and odour-neutral. Criticism: Expensive. But overall, I’m satisfied. I would advise against other brands (dusty, unpleasant smell!). Zooplus also offers a fantastic price, much cheaper than the pet shops in the area!

Perfect addition for great digging fun

I use the straw for my fancy mice alongside hay, wood shavings, and tissues. Different types of bedding provide optimal digging fun thanks to their varied textures. It’s low in dust and of good quality. However, in my opinion, it’s not suitable as the main bedding, as although it has good absorbency, it dries very poorly, which quickly increases the risk of mould forming. As a top layer, though, it’s excellent.

My hamster really likes this bedding. I use it as nesting material together with toilet paper – nice and cosy, and warm. Highly recommended 😎😊
