JR Farm Chinchilla-Sand Special

The sand is absolutely excellent... We've bought quite a few before, but this one is truly top-notch.

After reading all the rave reviews, I was really looking forward to this sand. However, I was deeply disappointed and even angry that I spent money on this. Selling such a mess as bathing sand exceeds all imagination on my part. This product can at best be described as dust with bits in it. As soon as I opened the packaging, so much dust rose up that I had to sneeze and cough. There was no way to use it without a protective mask.

Our gerbils and we are very happy with the bathing sand. Normal dust development.

Good bathing sand. In my experience, it doesn’t create more dust than sand from other manufacturers. We’re sticking with this product.

Chinchillas are only happy in the sand bath now – the sand is just brilliant! Highly recommend it for chinchillas, simply fantastic.

I always used quartz sand before. Didn't think too much about it when ordering this one. Filled it in, and the chinchillas absolutely love it. At first, they didn’t want to leave the sand bath at all, and even on that day and the following ones, they spent a lot of time in it—much more often than usual. It does get used as a toilet, just like my old sand. But when they pee, it forms clumps that can be sifted out. I’ll definitely order it again because the animals love it. It’s even made a noticeable difference in their fur.

The sand was actually intended for our hamster's sand bath. Unfortunately, after refilling the sand bath, he stopped using it. He didn’t like the sand. Now we’ve bought the other sand again and are using this sand as the bottom layer in the dwarf rabbits’ litter tray. Works brilliantly, and the rabbits love it.

Our mice don’t like using the sand at all, and it’s clear why as soon as you change it: the sand is incredibly dusty. Even as a human, you can barely breathe. Now I’ve got two packs of this stuff at home and can’t use it. Frustrating.

I've never seen so much dust with a sand product before! The whole room smells of dust or rather of the sand's own odour! Never again!

It's just like any other chinchilla sand, really. Not much to say about it. I do like that the packaging can be resealed, though.

I bought the sand for my hamster. The sand has a very strong odour, or to put it bluntly, it stinks terribly. But what’s even worse is that it’s incredibly dusty. All the furnishings in the sand bath ended up with a layer of dust, and whenever the hamster dug in it, a proper cloud of dust would rise. Really disappointing, but I had to throw all the sand away because my hamster kept sneezing and the smell was absolutely unbearable.

It's quite okay. There is better sand out there, but for the price, it's good 👌

So fine, so good, so soft!!! The best bath sand – made from CLAY – contains no sharp-edged, much cheaper QUARTZ SAND!! My degus love bathing in it and haven’t had ANY EYE PROBLEMS since :)) Use sparingly and only place the sand bath in the cage for about 10 minutes a day; this way, it hardly gets dirty and can be used for a long time ;)

My chinchillas love it! So far, one of the best.
