Vet Food Disclaimer

Hill's Prescription Diet Canine u/d Urinary Care is a wet food for dogs, with a tailored recipe including reduced levels of purine, protein and sodium. The special recipe aims to reduce urate- and cystine stone components, thus helping to reduce the risk of urinary stone reoccurrence.
This wet dietetic food has urine-alkalising properties and can help to create a urinary environment that is unfavourable for the formation of crystals. Hill's Prescription Diet Canine u/d Urinary Care also provides your dog with antioxidants, as well as vitamin E, which can help to support immune system function. This dietetic food provides a delicious flavour and is well-accepted by many dogs.

"PERFECT"

My little Jack Russell X Lurcher is only 2 years old, but he has developed Cystine Crystals, (a form of gallstone in dogs) he now has to eat ONLY special diet food. Hills u/d Urinal Disorder Wet dog food is the only one he is allowed. At first, after chicken & gammon cooked food, he was very, how shall we put it? Not interested. It took a few weeks, but now he eats it well. Hills u.d/ wet dog food has helped him enormously & he no longer bleeds when urinating. It's "Perfect" for me & for Him.

Urinary u/d

My Border Collie has been on this food for 6.5 years now. Surely, he might prefer a different food, but thanks to this one, he has excellent blood values for his age (12 years) and kidney disease. He’s in good spirits and alert. He has cystine stones and suffered a lot at the beginning of his illness, which is no longer the case today. I’m convinced that without this special food, he would have suffered and wouldn’t still be with us. I give it 5 stars.

Essential for cystine stones

Due to cystine issues with my Great Dane, feeding him this medical food is absolutely necessary. Luckily, he really likes the taste, and so far, he hasn’t developed any new stones. It seems to do exactly what it’s supposed to.

Very low protein and fat content

Our 14-year-old Chinese Crested Hairless showed slight changes in kidney values during the last comprehensive blood test. On the vet's advice, we acted immediately and bought him this food. Our Schörli is a very capricious little old man. We were worried he might refuse this food. To our great relief, he accepted it straight away and even asked for seconds. We hope this continues. Very low protein and fat content – excellent!

Hills ud wet food

Have used this product since my dog was put on this diet requested by the vets after a operation for stones . Has always been good and seems to have sorted his problem .. but recently the consistency has changed and it’s very sloppy and wet . Getting more waste as sticks to the bowel . This is the only food he can have Please hills can you change it back to original .

What a let down!!

I have ordered this three times before and it was excellent. This time it was terrible. The consistency has chanced and the smell made me sick. It smelt like poo. What a let down. Where to go now , because my dog needs this special diet 😱😢

The product is very good, although the first tins last year were juicier. But our dog loves it and it suits him very well. 👍😊

A great feed

Since my Balou (Chihuahua) has been eating this food, he hasn’t had any crystals anymore. Before, we had to go to the veterinary clinic every six weeks for a bladder flush.

Unfortunately unavoidable

Due to severe oxalate, struvite, and cystine crystal formation, we were unfortunately forced to switch to this food. The food may have its justification as wet food, but in terms of taste, it’s not particularly appealing as either dry or wet food. After a week, my male dog started refusing to eat it.

worsening skin condition

My dog has been on part wet+part dry of zd ultra+ after 2months we are starting to notice the difference! Still scratching but nothing like before. Will carry on with it as i have read it takes at least 3 months to see the best results
