Concept for Life Veterinary Diet Gastrointestinal is a premium complete wet food for adult dogs with inadequate digestion, disturbed pancreatic function and acute absorption disorders. These dogs do not digest food sufficiently, so they can't absorb nutrients properly. The intestinal flora is disturbed, vomiting and diarrhoea can cause further loss of body water and vital electrolytes. The mucous membranes in the gastrointestinal tract can also become irritated. If these symptoms occur over a long period of time, they can lead to dehydration and emaciation. If your dog has a pancreatic disfunction such as exocrine pancreatic insufficiency these symptoms may be analogous.

Excellent food

My toy poodle (5 years) was eventually diagnosed with pancreatitis in Sep 2023, I tried different foods and decided to try this after a lot of googling. By the end of Dec he was well on his way to recovery and to this day (end May 24) he is still going strong without any relapses. He is on a low fat diet (fed upto 4 small meals a day) but he does get a dental stick (pumpkin and carrot) by Soopa which Zooplus do not sale. This food has certainly turned his life around and put my mind at rest.

Lifesaver

My senior dog had long term sickness issues and i had tried everything. I put him onto this and several months later they have been alleviated. Prior to this food i was struggling to find something that he could digest. Hes now healthier and happier and this has helped so much.

Super Good

My lurcher developed a bad tummy on his normal food so tried him on this and it has worked wonders. I mix it with Medium Sensitive dried kibble and feed 4 times a day in small amounts. His tummy is happy and his (apologies) pooh is 100% firm and has been for the past couple of weeks. I shall continue to keep him on this food now..

Amazing Results

My little teacup dog has had sensitive tummy troubles for years ! She has had veterinary gastrointestinal food for many years and had flare ups every few weeks ! Chicken &Rice made her worse I had to also give her probiotic paste to help with ibs and colitis.I came across this food as no other prescription dog food worked,I read the reviews and thought what have I got to loose ! Wow I’m so glad I changed she loves it her poos are no longer a problem of loose stools and it’s a lot cheaper too!

Wonderful for my pancreatic dog

So pleased I found this. Options that suit my pancreatic dog are so limited as he can't handle chicken and now seems intollerant to his usual food that contains Organic Brown Rice. His pooh is normal after just 2 days on this food - its been problematic for over a year. He is usually a very fussy eater but loved this food.

Can not do without it

My elderly dog suffers with bad digestive symptoms and bad flare ups with pancreatitis. And the poor thing struggles with arthritis. All the 'vet' gastro food we came across just didn't help, made it worse,.it had un named cereals in it, pork etc.none of which suited a sensitive belly. But this food is good it also has an amount of medical clay in it, which I had to buy separately before, but these tins' I think keeps her on an even keel. The meat inside is ok if you have to administer pills.

Happy Dog

Switched

Due to a chronic intestinal condition in our dog, the vet recommended Royal Canin Gastro Intestinal. Our dog had been eating it for years and is not eating very well. Now we have switched to Concept for Life Veterinary Diet and our dog is eating really well and even going back to her empty bowl to lick it all clean. Our dog also had no problems at all when it comes to stool from the switch. Totally great!

Hello This product has been really very good for my dog who is 15 year old and has a very fragile digestion since his gastric problems, having had to take anti inflammatory medicine which I have been forced to reduce. He accepts this food without complaint, digests it really well, and funnily enough my 9 year old Spanish cat who won't eat tinned food also loves this stuff and has no trouble digesting it either.
