Product description

Diet food to support overweight adult dogs in cases of acute or chronic gastro-intestinal problems e.g. diarrhoea. The food has a reduced calorie content to help with weight loss in overweight dogs
The gastro-intestinal tract is one of the dog’s most sensitive organs and many dogs suffer from chronic digestive complaints which can cause sickness and/or diarrhea. Royal Canin Gastro Intesinal Moderate Calorie is a dietetic complete dog food with a moderate calorie content, especially designed for overweight dogs (or dogs that tend to put on excess weight easily) that also suffer from GI problems such as pancreatitis, chronic diarrhea, or gastritis. The recipe contains easily digested proteins that minimize intestinal fermentation processes. Added FOS promotes balanced digestion and contributes to healthy gut flora. Essential fatty acids including EPA and DHA can also help to reduce inflammation in the gut and promote healing processes. MOS stimulates the local immune systems in the intestine and can help to neutralise bad bacteria.

Key benefits:
  • Digestive security: proteins that are easily digested help to reduce intestinal fermentation processes. Fermentable fibres (FOS) support a balanced gut flora
  • Moderate energy content: moderate fat content means that this food can be used to feed dogs that risk becoming overweight
  • Well accepted: dogs that suffer from digestive complaints also often suffer from low appetite and can lose weight. This tasty food can help to encourage them to eat more and support recovery
  • EPA/DHA: Eicosapentaenoic acid -(EPA)and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA)are long-chain Omega-3 fatty acids, which can help to reduce inflammation in the intestine
Duration of treatment:

In cases of severe illness, you should feed a dietetic food for at least 3 weeks in order to support regeneration of the intestinal vilii. Chronic intestinal complaints can mean that you will need to use a dietetic food for a longer period. To promote good digestion, you should split your dog‘s daily feeding amount into a number of meals across the day.
