If you want to provide your older large breed dog with ideal support as it ages, Royal Canin Maxi Ageing 8+ is the right dry food for you. The balanced dog meal provides your pet with a balanced nutrient profile that can contribute to their vitality as they age.
Royal Canin Maxi Ageing 8+ consists of specially adapted croquettes whose shape, size and texture encourage extensive chewing and can thus prevent the food from being gulped down. The recipe contains essential omega-3 fatty acids, which can contribute to normal heart function, among other things. It also contains high-quality L.I.P. proteins, which are particularly easy to digest. Last but not least, Royal Canin Maxi Ageing 8+ has an energy content adapted to the needs of senior dogs.

The special MAXI recipe in the Royal Size Health Nutrition range has been tailored to the specific needs of large, older dog breeds.
The crunchy kibbles are not only particularly tasty, they are also ideally sized to fit the mouths of large dogs and stimulate chewing.
Highly digestible proteins and a balanced supply of fibres support normal digestive function and the adjusted energy content is adapted to that of older dogs. Selected minerals can also support normal bones. Vitamins and high-quality nutrients support the body's own defences.

Disappointed
Unfortunately I have to echo recent reviews for this product. I've used royal canin for years, premium product for a little bit more money which I never minded paying until now.
The biscuit has changed and it's smaller and looks like a cheerio, presumably they've changed the recipe to save money. The bags used to be plastic and resealable, not anymore. They come in a sack that is tissue paper thin and tears very easily. Again, one assumes to save money. Will now be seeking an alternative.

Recipe has changed since rebranding. Dog won't eat it
Our lab has been on Royal Canin since he was 1 and he's now 13. He has never refused food before, but will not eat this new recipe (I thought he was ill but he's fine on other food, but refuses when I try to get him back on this one)

Rip off prices
Have been buying for a few years from Zooplus. Love the website and delivery is always very prompt. Lately prices have just gone up and up. Now £10 a bag more expensive than petaathome. That’s way too much to stay loyal

Very good croquettes
My 7 year old Rottweiler Helios and my Bernese Leon who is 9 have started eating this food and it has been doing wonders for their health. Their fur and their stool have been impeccable, and their weight has been steady. Our Rottweiler was losing weight with the Eukanuba food. All in all, we are very satisfied with the Royal Canin Maxi Ageing 8+

Excellent product for senior dogs
Our Labrador mix who is 15 and a half has been eating this since he was 12...he loves them, especially when the packet is fresh!! The bottom tends to dry out a little.

Fantastic
After many years of changing both my dogs food to get something they would actually finish, usually ended up with half full bags of uneaten food.
I was recommended Royal Canine food by a friend because her dogs loved it.
I did swap them to Royal Canine and they can't get enough of it and I've never got any half full bags of food going to waste.
Best swap I've done for my furbabes.

Good product
My Malinois who is 13 and a half has been eating this for several years, and still loves it. It suits him well, he has had no digestive issues and his fur is glowing. General health is in top notch, and we will be sticking with this food.

Excellent quality
Our 91/2 year old labradoodle has always been fed on royal canin going through the range from junior to adult to 5+ now on 8+. I would completely recommend this food.

Excellent product
I would highly recommend Royal Canin. Once upon a time we did try some cheaper food to be more economical. Big mistake! Not only was there a noticeable difference in general health i.e. glossiness of coat, condition of teeth, and mobility, but also they just clearly didn't like it as much. It may not be cheap but it's worth every penny for owners who want happy healthy dogs.

I recommend this to all my clients with older dogs.
I am a professional dog walker and often recommend this food to my clients who have older dogs. I feed it to my 12 year old lurcher - he loves it and is still bounding up mountains at the weekends like a pup. It is great stuff.I hate watching older dogs suffer from joint problems, bad breath, flatulence, digestive problems and runny eyes all because they are being fed garbage that is full of 'meat and animal derivatives'.

Great food
The quality of this food is out standing,a little pricey but well worth it,my 11 year old gsp and 9 year old gsd love it.after only two weeks we have seen an improvement in mobility and coat condition and they seem more fulfilled in general.

My sensitive Dalmation
After a long search I've finally found a food my dog can digest. My very large dalmation (40kg), is now 11 years old and super fit. Since I switched the food to RC, her poops are much smaller and her bloating has stopped. I would definitely recommend this food!
