Renal

My 11 year old Dalmatian has had kidney issues for a couple of years now and she has finally settled onto this dry food along with hills wet tins mixed in. She’s already starting to slowly gain some weight back

Our Westie loves eating this.

Our West Highland Terrier really enjoys eating the dry food. That’s not a given, as he doesn’t take well to dry food from brands like Bosch, for example.

Tasty

My dog really enjoys eating this food. At first, I was a bit worried about switching his food, but it turned out to be completely unnecessary. It's very well tolerated, his stool looks good, but the kibble pieces are quite tiny. However, I soak the food, and then it works fine. That's why I’m deducting one star.

Cautiously optimistic

Was happily eaten from the very first feeding. Hopefully, it stays that way! Kidney diet food from other manufacturers was eaten at first too, but after a few weeks, it wasn’t touched anymore! It’s great that it’s grain-free!!!

Dog has been suffering from kidney disease for 6 weeks

Our Golden Retriever had dry food for 11 years. After his stay in the clinic and the instruction to switch to kidney diet wet food, he was transitioned to canned food. Unfortunately, it didn’t suit his taste, and he refused all varieties. The dry food from Animonda Integra/Kidney was very well received. As a result, he regained 2 kg within 3 days.

My dogs love this food

Both my 14 year old Border Collie siblings were diagnosed with Renal failure in October 2019. They are both on the tinned Integra but I keep a bag of the dry food for emergencies or just for a change. Since being on the Integra diet they are both stable and much more active as they must feel better in themselves. They go mad at meal times (something they have never done before) so to me that is the best endorsement along with clean bowls you can get!

Gladly received and well appreciated

I fed Hills k/d for a long time (5 years) until my dog completely refused to eat it. Now I’ve switched, and she’s eating with enjoyment again. Her bowel movements have become a bit more frequent. Kidney values remain stable. I soak the dry food in water.

My dog loves this

I have a lurcher with kidney problems. I have tried other brands but she absolutely loves this and on having her 6 monthly checks at the vet she is maintaining her levels well on it. Well worth trying

Very satisfied

After just 4 weeks, the kidney values have already improved a bit... The dog likes it... I also feed a bit of the wet food in the mornings (with the tablets).

... why the new quantity restriction????

My 16-year-old pug-dachshund mix has kidney problems. I've had good experiences with Animonda Protect Kidney (dry food). He tolerates it well and enjoys eating it. When placing a repeat order, I noticed that the 2.5 kg pack, as before, is no longer available and can now only be ordered starting from 4 kg. I don't think that's right. I used to enjoy shopping at zooplus, but now I'll have to turn to another seller—what a shame!

The food is absolutely loved!!!

When my little dog was diagnosed with mild CKD, we started looking for suitable food. The various samples from the vet didn’t really appeal to her. She was already a picky eater, and when the vet mentioned that kidney food is generally not well-liked, I almost gave up hope. Since I already feed my healthy dogs food from Animonda, I was really pleased to discover that this brand also offers diet food, which is significantly cheaper than other brands. When the food arrived, all the dogs (even the healthy ones) immediately pounced on it as if they hadn’t eaten in days! Now I use it as treats throughout the day and for training (the kibble pieces are nice and small), even for the other dogs. In combination with Animonda’s kidney wet food (and Rinti for variety), my little one has become really fit again and has finally gained weight, which makes us absolutely overjoyed!

Very good

My pug has kidney gravel and very frequent bladder infections. I feed him the dry food along with Animonda wet food – I’m thrilled! He no longer has itchy skin either. I’ve tried many things, and I can only recommend it.

Tasty!

This is the dry food that my Border Collie likes best. I've tried all the ones recommended by the vet (Hills, ...), Fressnapf, and Zooplus, and only with this did she regain her original weight and quality of life! I'm very grateful for that!

Integra Protect Renal dry dog food isn’t really a hit, gets rejected.

Unfortunately, my dog with kidney disease refuses to eat it. On the other hand, he happily eats the dry food from VetConcept. I don’t want to say that Integra Protect is a bad food.

My dogs have always refused dry food -

...until I tried Integra Protect Renal. I can barely get the bowls down on the floor fast enough! Other dry food would sit around for hours, completely ignored! The ingredients are also really beneficial for my elderly Dalmatians (13 1/2 and 15 years old) – they’re physically doing so much better...

The food is rejected by both dogs!

I have a 14-year-old Jack Russell Terrier with acute kidney failure. While searching for alternatives to Hills, which he doesn’t like at all, I came across this food and pinned all my hopes on it. Despite trying every trick to make the food more appealing—adding flavour, moistening, mixing, and everything else—the dog won’t eat it. Even the healthy female dog refuses it. The ingredients and composition are ideal for the dog, as they have very low protein and phosphate content. But unfortunately, only 3 stars because it’s not accepted. Such a shame!

Odyssey over?

About 15 months ago, my little mixed-breed male dog was diagnosed with kidney insufficiency. Unfortunately, I had to switch from the tried-and-tested, well-tolerated food (he also has a grain allergy) to kidney diet food only. Until now, he has either completely refused all kidney diet food or not tolerated it. For the past few months, I’ve been feeding him Bosch Sensible Renal & Reduction, which was very well tolerated but, due to the huge kibble size, was difficult for small dogs to chew. He would either just lick off the accompanying wet food and eat only the bare minimum, or he would consistently get gum inflammation after soaking the kibble. I’ve now tried Integra Protect Kidney dog food for the first time and was absolutely delighted that my dog accepted the food straight away. I was pleasantly surprised by the small kibble size as well. The food also smells very good. At the moment, it seems like my dog has a huge appetite to make up for lost time. I’m now feeding him three times a day, and the bowl is always empty. Additionally, I no longer need to add wet food. I hope my dog continues to tolerate Integra Protect despite his grain allergy and that we (both he and I) have finally found the right food.
