Vet Food Disclaimer

It is not uncommon for dogs to suffer from urinary tract issues, which can have a number of causes. Carrying excess weight can lead to problems with urinary health, which is why the Hill’s Prescription Diet Canine c/d Multicare Urinary + Metabolic has been developed. It supports all of your dog's dietary needs without sacrificing flavour or enjoyment.

This complete Hill’s Prescription Diet Canine c/d Multicare Urinary + Metabolic dietetic dry food for adult dogs has a recipe that actively works to help your dog lose weight, which may directly impact the health of the urinary tract. Levels of magnesium, calcium, and phosphorus are carefully controlled to minimise the risk of forming urinary stones. The urine acidifying ingredients help your dog's urine reach an optimal pH, which may be beneficial for existing urinary conditions. This tasty dry food is also rich in omega-3 fatty acids that are vital in combatting inflammation.

Very effective

My 15-year-old Westie has both bladder and bowel issues. Since I started giving her this food mixed with a bit of wet food, the bowel problems have also disappeared. A very pleasing side effect!

Seems to help

Last November, calcium oxalate or crystal stones were detected in our Wirehaired Fox Terrier. We noticed this because of frequent urination, seemingly accompanied by pain, and sudden urination while sleeping. The food has resolved all of this. The pH value of the urine is now in a good range. However, we still need to wait and see what the vet says. A downside is that the kibble is very tiny—more suited for small dogs, not for "gulpers."

Good feed at Crystal Stones

Calcium oxalate stones (crystal stones) in the bladder and grit in the kidney were diagnosed in our Wirehaired Fox Terrier. Since he quickly needed a food suitable for this condition, I came across this food. The composition doesn’t sound great, but it seems to work brilliantly. Previously, he would suddenly start uncontrollably urinating, which hasn’t happened for quite a while now. One star deducted because the kibble is too small. He still enjoys the food, though.
