Please note: Burns Senior Original - Chicken & Brown Rice is undergoing a packaging change. During this transition period, you may receive either variety of packaging. However, the product inside remains of the same high quality.

As your dog ages, its nutritional needs will change. This Burns Senior Original - Chicken & Brown Rice has been specially developed to meet these changing needs, with a recipe designed to promote overall wellbeing, a healthy bodyweight and mobile joints. The complete dry food is low in fat, allowing for a dog's decreasing activity levels as it gets older, as well as having added salmon oil to support healthy skin, coat and joints.
Burns Senior Original - Chicken & Brown Rice is also enriched with other beneficial ingredients such as green tea and blueberry extract, which provide antioxidants and can help to keep the brain alert. Glucosamine, chondroitin and MSM work with the salmon oil to keep joints supple and ensure your dog retains its mobility in later life.

Every dog is different, so be sure to adjust the recommended serving to meet your dog's individual requirements, depending on factors such as if your dog is neutered, less active or particularly fussy. Overeating can lead to digestive issues. For dogs that are overweight, base the daily servings on your dog's target weight rather than its current weight. Your dog may require more food if it is particularly active. Unless otherwise advised, transition your dog gradually to a new food over a period of 10 - 14 days.
Fresh drinking water should always be available.

Poor quality

I have always purchased burns sensitive. This was may first senior sensitive purchase. Over half of my 12 kg order was crushed and powder meaning it could be fed to my dogs. I’m very disappointed with the quality.

Elderly lurcher with poor kidney function

My 13 year old dog has arthritis and poorly functioning kidneys. After some research, and prior experience with other types of Burns dry food, I started him on the Senior + a few days ago. As he has been on a very high meat content diet, I am surprised how well he accepts it and seems to really enjoy it. He is drinking less, and, as he is also on a new drug for his arthritis, seems more comfortable and active. It's early days, but I cant fault it.
