The HUNTER Retriever Lead Freestyle is a moxon lead by HUNTER. The lead is 170cm long, made from one piece and features a loop handle. The lead is made from polyamide, which is extremely durable and weather-resistant but still soft and comfortable on your hands.
The Retriever Lead is easily and quickly removed and put back on, making it ideal for dogs that love to roam free and only rarely have to be put on the lead. It is also recommended for dogs that like to swim and for hunting dogs. As no collar is necessary with this lead there is no risk of your dog getting caught in branches or shrubs.

Too short
I assumed that the 170cm referred to the actual length of the leash itself. However, the hand loop and the collar are included in this measurement. For my taste, the leash is too short because of this. The colour and quality, though, are very good.

Actually a good lead
The HUNTER retriever lead is actually a good retriever lead. The stopper stays where it’s supposed to and doesn’t slip like with other brands. The only thing you shouldn’t do is play tug-of-war with Rottweilers, as it’s not stitched quite as sturdily. It tore at the seam of the hand loop!

I first bought this retriever lead for myself, and in May 2022, I purchased a second lead out of conviction as a gift for my friend’s dog. She’s just as thrilled with it as I am. No need for a dog harness anymore. This lead is a collar and lead in one. Quick to put on and take off. The collar is easily adjusted with the sliding stopper, so the dog can’t slip out of it. Very handy. When off-lead, the dog doesn’t wear a collar that could get caught in hedges. Brilliant!

What can I say? I've tried quite a few leads and sent several back, but I'm absolutely thrilled with this one. I bought it for my Bully as an addition to his harness because he used to pull really hard, which he doesn't do anymore. It has a great length and thickness.

VERY GOOD

My dogs love them
My dogs and I love this lead, especially my little terrier mix thinks it's brilliant because it doesn't take as long to clip him in anymore since the collar and lead are combined. Very good for in-between, quick and easy to handle.
I always use the lead when I’m just going on short walks, mostly at night. My powerhouse of a dog usually wears a harness because he doesn’t care about a collar—if he wants to pull, it makes no difference to him, even if he ends up coughing and wheezing. The lead doesn’t have an anti-pull effect, but that’s also mentioned in the description—at least not with my dog. However, it does have an anti-bark effect, which is quite handy, especially at night. If he wants to pull AND bark, it’s just not possible.

Simply brilliant
My dog used to pull like crazy. Then we visited the dog sitter, who pointed out this lead to us. Since then... my shoulders are recovering noticeably because my big guy doesn’t pull anymore. Even our neighbour’s dog, who always used to tug on the lead, now walks nicely beside me. The cool thing about this lead is that the annoying hassle of clipping it on and off is gone. Just slip it over the head and you’re done. I’ll never use another lead again.
