HUNTER Retriever Slip Lead - Black

The lead is simple and super functional. You can use it as a retriever lead, adjust the length, use it with or without a hand loop, sling it over your shoulder, or attach the clip to the dog's collar/harness and hold the other end in your hand. When jogging, I wrap the lead around my waist, and it doesn’t slip down. Adjusting the size works perfectly, and the metal parts don’t slide around like they do with other leads. I’d love to have it in a thinner version, but otherwise, it’s brilliant.

Basically, I think the Hunter Freestyle leads are great – however, I’m not too keen on the infinitely adjustable model, as the length tends to adjust itself with a bit of tension and suddenly the lead is completely extended. I’d probably go for the shorter version without adjustment options next time. Other than that, the quality is as good as usual. Three stars because of the still relatively high price for a fabric lead.

Great quality- brought 2 for my two ridgebacks. One has the slip over his nose for greater control and you can lock well in position. The clip that hold in place is really snug. Did a figure of eight know in to of lead to hold - easily adjustable - really pleased - absolutely fab lead. Highly recommend for large dog.

I wish I had bought it much earlier – this lead is worth every penny! At first, I thought my French Bulldog might slip out of it, but not with this lead. I can only recommend it – top-quality lead! My dog doesn’t pull as much as before either.

I bought the Freestyle dog lead for my French Bulldog and I have to say, walking her is so much easier with this lead. I can only recommend it!

Using it as a figure-of-eight over neck and nose as a gentle but effective control for my 30Kg puppy. Makes walking a pleasure, not a challenge.

I should have bought this much earlier; I would have saved quite a bit of money on leads that I now leave aside 😃 Everything is infinitely adjustable, and the length is great too! Feels great in the hand and doesn’t cut in.

The lead is great for quickly stepping outside, e.g., for the last toilet break before bedtime. It was a huge help in house-training my dog because putting on the collar and lead takes less than 5 seconds, unlike other leads. Doesn’t choke due to the end stop. TOP.

We have a 37kg German Shepherd "puppy" and had been using a traditional Ancol slip lead - which works well enough - in comparison this Hunter lead is in a different league, both in construction and use. The Hunter rope is soft and smooth, the fittings & stitching very nice - a thing of beauty. The adaptabilty really sets it apart too. Set as a long single line any pulling is gone as pup can wander ahead a bit, but it's easy to double up to his leather collar for extra security around cows etc

I purchased this for my lurcher who was on lead walks only due to shoulder injury. It gave him slightly more freedom that a normal slip lead so he didn't feel he was on the lead for being naughty! I have also recently used it for another dog in rescue kennels where I work and it was good for him as he has issues with traffic. It is a comfortable lead to hold and you dont get friction burns like you can with some rope type slip leads. I also plan on getting the shorter hunter slip lead.

"We" have had this lead for about a year now, and it's still top-notch! My Labrador Retriever hates collars and harnesses, so we use this lead all the time, everywhere. It's been wet, had to hold back 35+ kg often, been exposed to wind, weather, cold, and sun, and still looks as good as new! Plus, the stop-pull mechanism and rubber slider are secure, meaning once you adjust them, they stay in place for a long time without shifting on their own. Sometimes it's also handy to just throw the lead over your shoulder, leaving both hands free. 100% recommendation! The lead could be a bit thinner, but that's just a matter of personal preference and doesn't affect the quality in any way...

I ordered this lead for my Wolfsspitz and I’m absolutely delighted with it. The lead is nice and lightweight, feels comfortable to hold, and it’s really easy to put on my dog since no collar is needed anymore. On top of that, it looks very classy and is simple to handle. For dogs with long fur, this lead is truly highly recommended!

I already have the Retriever lead in red. Now I’ve ordered it in black as well. I have two German Shepherds... and since the lead is so lightweight and straightforward, I wanted another one so both dogs could have one. You can easily carry it over your shoulders, and because it’s so light, I find it perfect for long walks. It looks nice with the leather caps and seems sturdy. I had accidentally ordered the Hunter adjustable lead. However, at 200 cm, it was far too short for me and also heavier due to the metal parts... the Retriever lead at 260 cm, on the other hand, is much better in my opinion, which is why I’ve now arranged for an exchange.

I ordered the lead for our 9-month-old Aussie as he’s not particularly fond of collars and harnesses, with his strong instinct for freedom. This lead works brilliantly. He’s happy to have it put on, and he pulls much less than before. The length is ideal, and you can easily shorten it if needed. The only downside for me is that it could be thinner, as it would then be lighter and easier to stow away when taking it along. Feels a bit like I could be walking a calf ;-)

I was eagerly waiting, full of anticipation, lying in wait for the parcel to arrive, and as soon as it did, I opened it right away. I’m absolutely thrilled – the lead looks super high-quality, I ordered it in dark brown, and the colour is truly beautiful. We’re about to go on our first walk, and I’m as happy as a clam because the lead looks sooo gorgeous and feels amazing to the touch. I wanted it because, alongside the training collar, which Boby is supposed to use only for heel work, I can save myself the hassle of a second collar and simply clip the lead on! Brilliant idea, this product – I can only recommend it so far.

Very good quality, both of the rope and the metal parts. The lead is quick to put on and take off, so the dog can run or swim without a collar.

We use the lead for short walks! Brilliant stuff, lead and collar in one! Plus, we take our Goldie to dog training with it! Looks stylish and is practical!

We love this lead. Not only does it look classy, but it’s also super practical. The collar can be slipped on and off instantly when needed. Before, I had a blue nylon collar with a lead that would bleed colour when it got wet. When Ben came out of the water, it didn’t take long for the fur around his neck to turn blue. Not a great look for a very light Golden Retriever. Plus, the collar would stretch when wet. With the Hunter lead, that’s no longer a problem. If he wants to go into the water, I simply take the lead off and can put it back on straight after. Swimming fun “topless”!
